Welcome!

For the Glory!
The Crusades, great battles to regain the Holy Land for those that believed in it.
In the last crusade the powerful Sultan Al-Kamil agreed to an eight year peace with Europe. This allowed Christians to rule over most of Jerusalem, while the Muslims were given control of the Dome of the Rock and the Al-Aksa mosque. Many of the Muslims though were not happy with Al-Kamil for giving up control of Jerusalem and plot against the kindly king ellected by the European rulers.
Little do the English and Muslims know that armies are being ammassed to ride against them, with a full intent on attacking and sacking the holiest city on earth. The Ayyubids invited the Khwarezmian clans to plot with them in an idea of overthrowing the city.

Gabrial was never late. Early, most definatly, on time, always, but never ever was he late. It was the one thing his master so depended on him for. He could manage to salvage even the worst of trips and land himself and any with him where they needed to be on time. It came from having such an unusual occupation he supposed, what with his needing to be in precice places at specific times. Or perhapse it was just something that came naturally. So this morning, as he walked along the halls toward his misstresses room, he could almost list off the things he was seeing before they happened.

The cook pouring out the water from last nights pots that had been soaking. The maids coming out of their rooms to begin tidying the sleeping quarters of the other servants. A particularly late servant dashing past him and narrowly avoiding knocing him over, instead just catching his arm with retreating apollogies. It was as he was straightening his shirt and pushing his hair back along his head that he heard the too familiar sounds of hoofbeats in the distance. That was the one thing that was absent at times, but had been happening more and more recently. His master was leaving before his misstress woke up.

It wasn't unusual but every time he couldn't help but glare off in the direction of the gate. That man had perfection waiting for him at home and he rode off three or four times a month to spend days in the city on 'business'. He knew too well what kind of bussiness he was doing, and it almost made him sick. Around a corner however and every hint of the scowl that had been on his face vanished, replaced by his usual quiet smile. It was this hall that would lead him to her room, and he wasn't about to scowl in her direction. He stopped at her door and knocked once on the heavy wood, hearing the chamber maids inside stirring and trying to wake her. Without missing a beat he sepped back a few paces and folded his hands behind his back, waiting like he did every morning.

Personally, Madeline hated mornings. She wanted to sleep in and dream of a life that she could just be herself in. Not care for what those around her thought, and the picture she had to keep to the highest of perfections. She hated it, truly, but that was one thing she was not bold enough to admit to. It was clock work, when the maids came in and with the slightest touch to her arm, she simply rolled over. "Please, just a few more minutes, Melinda," she mumbled, nuzzling her cheek against her pillow. The bed was soft, warm and just too cozy to get out of. Of course, her maid would speak otherwise. Urging her to get up, and telling her to get dressed. It made her feel like a child. That would only make her smile.

It wasn't long that she was up and out of bed, her night attire would soon be removed and replaced with a dress; after a corset was in place. She hated those things, there were times when it was hard to breathe with wearing one. Especially if it was from home. Her dress was one of the finest material. Today, it was a beautiful shade of green - almost jade in color. The fabric felt smooth against her hand, and almost silken. Her hair was just left in a half-up, half-down style; her curls touching her cheeks gently. The rest was left to her maids. Dressing herself was not something she would do - not since she was a child.

Hearing the knock, Madeline closed her eyes and shook her head gently. "Right on time, as always," she murmured, glancing at the door with a slight glare. Of course he would be on time. Madeline couldn't really remember a day when he was late. Nodding to her maid, she smiled a bit and went to the door; walking through it as soon as it was opened. "Gabrial, right on time. I take it you had a pleasant sleep?" Madeline spoke, tilting her head to the side; her hands gently resting against her stomach. She wasn't sure if there were anything planned for the day, and she was hoping he would know. Waiting for his reply, she glanced down both ends of the hall, then back to him; smiling ever so lightly.

She opened the door and came out looking just as amazing as always. She spoke and he nodded his head with a short, "Of course Mi'lady." The truth was he hadn't really slept in what must have been days. He was used to such things though, and looked non the worse for the ware. It might have been why he was on time, not having been asleep for more then a few hours the night before made it easy to be ready to go at a moments notice and get where he was needed. He straightened back up with that all too familiar expression and waited to see if she would continue. Some mornings were more talkative then others.

He watched as she looked both ways and apparently waited for him to speak. "You've nothing to do for most of the day, and the Master left earlier this morning for a meeting at the Palace." He couldn't lie, not to her anyway. So instead he simply spoke in vaugueties, leaving no real detail to the story. After all the man was meeting with someone, and he most likely wold be at the palace.... most likely.

It was almost hard for him to say really, because he had the sinking suspicion she knew what her husband was doing, and he wasn't going to tell her outright for fear of the retaliation. So instead of giving her toe to dwell on teh subject, he contnued. "Is there anyhting you'd like to do?" He wasn't about to sugest something. Honestly the first thing that came to mind was not something he would suggest to a woman out loud, in a public setting, and he knew better then to suggest it to her. At least, for the moment he knew better, one never knew what might happen in the future.

Madeline blinked and watched him for a moment. There were times when the two would just talk for a while, and other times when silence would be dominate for the moment. She wanted to go out on a limb, and call him on his conformation of sleep. It couldn't really be told with him, and proved to be a hard thing to point out. But, with how much she was accompanied by him, Madeline learned, but never called him on it before. "That's good.. As long as sleep is treating you well," she softly said, quickly glancing down at the floor, then back to him. She wasn't really surprised by his information of her day, and simply nodded. Of course he would know what was to be done. He was, after all, head of house.

Hearing that her husband had already left sent a flare of jealously through her. She knew where he was going, and would possibly be staying the whole day. She hated them with a passion, and his...companion most of all. There were times that she even felt she was starting to hate her husband. Frowning, she shook her head and softly sighed. "A surprise, isn't it. He leaves yet again, without so much as a word," she lightly spoke. So much that it could be confused as a whisper. It hurt that she knew what he was doing, and it hurt even worse that he was actually laying with another woman. The princess, no doubt.

Pushing the thoughts aside, she started to walk the way Gabrial had came. Knowing good and well that he would follow, without a doubt. "No, but I'm sure I'll find something. You are free to do as you wish, Gabrial. I'm sure you have things around the household to take care of, do you not?" She asked, glancing at him with a small smile. Though, it wasn't one to reach her eyes. Why, or better yet, how could she be happy with a cheating husband? Forcing herself to forget about it, she looked ahead; holding her head high. She wouldn't let it affect her. She had yet to do so, and it would continue to be that way. Whatever he did would stay his business, for now, anyway.

He nodded, and wasted no time in pretending he wasn't a little bit tired. Sleep however was for nights when the master was away and she was long since locked in her room ignoring him. Tonight might be one such night if his master proved true to form. When she seemed to realize it thogugh, and muttered something he didn't quite hear, he felt aas though a weight had been dropped into his stomach. She shouldn't have to deal with this. The man had no idea what he had right in front of him. Gabrial knew, but he was in no place to mention it to his master or act on such knowlage.

He followed her without her needing to say anything, after all it was his duty to do so. She seemed intent that he busy himself with soemthing however. "My duties lie with you Mi'lady. If they can not perform their own through out the day then they will be delt with accordingly." Very rarely did he ever have to reprimand someone anymore. They had adjusted quite well tot he idea that they go about their ownbusiness and don't bother him in his, or they find themselves on the wrong end of his temper.

"My day is yours." He continued to follow in his usual place, a few steps behind and to the right. It was as if he were her shadow some might say. that was how he got into every place that she was taken, how he always managed to know things. He was jsut a shadow, nothing more or less. When she went somewhere he followed, and they wound up in the places that they needed to be. In some cases it got him into the places he would rather avoid, but for the most part it kept him from getting into trouble. For the most part.

She knew the usual routine. He would go wherever she went, without so much as a compliant and sometimes it slightly annoyed her. Especially when she wished to be alone, even though she would oddly find his presence to be comforting. At times it surprised her, and even confused her more than she was already. When it came to her feelings towards her servant. That's all he was supposed to be, after all. A mere vessel she could use. Get him to do what she wanted, when she wanted and he wouldn't complain. Sure, she never showed it, but it made her feel bad. Rarely, of course.

Jealously was quick to turn into a slight anger. Of course, it would. It always did. Sometimes, she was able to keep a hold of it. But there were times she would just grumble to herself about this and that, or busy herself with sewing or reading. Which, often helped with making beautiful designs. That was the only thing she would be thankful for. "Of course, Gabrial. Don't they always," she stated, glancing at him from the corner of her eyes. She wasn't sure what she wanted. Food wasn't one of them, and she didn't exactly feel like sewing. Maybe a walk. That sounded nice. "Since your day is mine, let's take a walk. Just because he leaves, does not mean I have to stay inside all day," she added a moment later; making her way towards the entrance.

She didn't plan to go anywhere, really. Just a small walk, not one that long. Possibly the garden. Staying out in the sun was not something she wanted to do. A woman with sun kissed skin was often something her mother scolded her about. Claiming no man really liked it, even if they often ran to the bed of one. Such surprising lies, really. Facing people today seemed like a bad idea, for the moment. Perhaps after she calmed her nerves, she would make a trip to the market. Then again, maybe not. She could always send maid out, at anytime. "I want to see the oasis. The day seems perfect for a visit there, don't you agree?" She asked, smiling a bit and glancing at her servant. Friend was a term she wasn't sure she should use. Well, as long as he or her husband didn't hear the term slip from her lips, all would be fine.

He had followed along without question as she spoke. He was told to take care of her, was it really so surprising that he would have nothing to do but help her in whatever activies she could think up? Hed spent weeks making sure the place could run without him there, if only for the fact that he might be gone with them at the time. It came in more and more handy now that he was both head of the houshold staff and the ladie's personal servant. After all, he was always best at being a servant and taking orders, not so much at giving them.

When she decided to take a walk he followed toward the main entrance of the home. He knew the area around it like most of the servants knew the inside of the house. He had spent his life running around it and trying to keep up with his master after all. Whever she felt the need to go or wanted to see he was sure he could get her there and back again safely.

So the oasis, which was more or less the entirety of the land, was where she wanted to go. He nodded his head and gave a simple, "If you wish to." Who was he to argue with her? He could spend hours just stnading around, watching her read if that was what she wanted. That was what he did, follow her, watch over her. The way her husband should have been doing, but no he stayed where he was more familiar. He left her for the palace, but Gabrial was more then happy to fill his shoes. What else would you do for the woman you loved?

Madeline was silent for the time that they walked. She wasn't really in a mood to speak, let alone give up her thoughts. However, once they reached the door, she blinked and turned to him; tilting her head slightly. She could ask him to go retrieve her book or she could simply get it herself. Gently biting on the corner of her lip, she placed her hands before her; folding them together ever so slowly. "Gabrial, would be so kind as to retrieve me my book? I have a feeling that I'll need to take a break from walking, and I'm sure you know where I could sit underneath the shade, do you not?" She asked, being as polite as she possibly could. Presenting him with a light smile, she kept herself straight. She knew how she had to appear. Polite, kind, very lady like - the perfect appearance, was it not?

And just as she spoke, she was sure he knew where they could go and sit. It would give him time to train, if he wanted - though that thought really didn't cross her mind. Fighting was not a thing she approved of. Standing there, she glanced around the room - a familiar area. As it was her home. While she waited, it gave her enough time to contemplate over Lillian, she was sure her precious canine had already been walked and taken care of, by now. So, she didn't really worry over that. Smiling a bit, and once she had her book, assuming that he did go get it for her, she held herself back from the simple urge of kissing him on the cheek. "Thank you," She murmured, holding the book snugly underneath her bust.

The simple fact that she should be used to be waited on by now, was something she took into consideration. She knew that she shouldn't be acting like a helpless child, worrying if it was too much for them to do or if it simply annoyed them. Sure, she used to be that way, but with growing up she got used to it. Though, to say that she ignored that feeling completely would be another lie. One she honestly ignored. Why should she care? It's what they were born to do, just as she was born to live this life. There was no escaping it. Whatsoever, and that was the cold hard facts.

She heard him speak, and knew she would get her way. Again. With status came power, and to her, he was powerless to argue. Not that she expected him to do so, it was a simple argument she was having with herself. She did give him the choice to do as he wished, but he simply refused; giving his day to her. Leaving her with no guilt, as it would seem. The walk started in silence, and appeared to stay that way for some time. Madeline had nothing against it, really, but honestly - even for her silence could be a bit much. But, there was the problem with starting a conversation. Nothing happened to talk about, unless her husband was counted, a man she did not want to think about. Shaking her head, Madeline sighed softly and looked up ahead. That was a road she wished to keep off of for today, and as long as she could.
