Uriel cracked just a small hint of a smile, showing just a peek at the satisfaction he felt at winning this small argument.
"I knew you would make the right choice, Miss Harvard. Next week, on Thursday, I expect you to be at the old Diners Club building around noon. Unfortunately, I won't be able to go over your contract with you personally. I'm expected for a case that is very important, so I hope you will pardon me. My associate, Mr. Lee, will be available to go over the particulars with you and get you situated- Domincik is very good at getting people acclimated to our line of work."
He stiffened his back as she pushed him backwards, and he pulled out another cigarette.
"Will that be all you need, Miss Harvard?"

"I'll be there." Pippa said, nodding nonchalantly. She couldn't express how thankful she was that Uriel was a higher up who she probably would never have to deal with. Though her violent thoughts would never come to fruition, Pippa wanted to avoid that smirk as much as she could. Probably because she found it slightly attractive, like the cocky douchebag protagonist in a movie. She saw the hero who did not mind his own vices because he knew, ultimately, he was good. And yet... "Yeah, one more thing..."
Every time he put a cigarette to his lips, she saw a childishness in him. For someone who was good, he seemed to have no concern for himself nor the people around him. Pippa, who was sensitive to smoke, had little respect for those who smoked, let along those who consistently and stubbornly tried to around her. "Stop smoking in public places, you asshat!" She whipped out her hand, grabbed the cigarette and then flicked it with her nail to put it out, then shoved the damn thing into Uriel's jacket pocket.
"No wonder you need people for this job. You probably chase everyone off for being such a dickhead. Seriously." Pippa began to mutter, "I am going to try putting permitted to insult and possibly defenestrate Uriel in my damned contract." Pippa mumbled curses under her breath as she moved to the front of the bus. It was her stop next. Maybe dealing with Uriel's supposed immaturity in a childish manner wasn't the most effective way to, but Pippa knew whatever she said wouldn't get through to him anyway. Why make too much effort?

Uriel pulled the cigarette out of his pocket, still lit as if Pippa had done absolutely nothing to it, and smiled as he took another drag.
"Stop being so sensitive, Miss Harvard. If something bothers you, you don't attack it straight on. You become immune to it. That is what makes you stronger," he lectured brightly.
He laughed with a scowl as she mumbled about him, insults all, and furrowed his brows together. He knew she would be difficult, but this was exasperating. What could this human possibly have over him- an Archangel of Good and Truth? For his Father's sakes.. he was the Judge of all Creation. He wanted to tell her off, to shove it in her face.... but then, he knew, he would be single-handedly wiping out her objectivity in the face of the matter.. and the unbiasedness of her opinion is what he valued most.
"I can hear you, Miss Harvard," he called softly from his place, still in the middle of the bus, "At least for professionalisms sake.... you shouldn't be acting so improper towards your new boss."
With the smoke still hanging in the air, he phased out to Judicium to conduct the many other little articles of business that awaited him in his home at Purgatory, not waiting to hear her response.
