Entrance Hall
Used each morning to inspect the servants, this is also where guests are received. Marble flooring and stately columns add a touch of a Grecian elegance.

Titles of a tightly-bound books glimmer from the mahogany bookshelves. There is a small writing table in the corner and a few other cushioned chairs for cozy reading. One new addition is the large billiard table, commanding the center of the room.

Ballroom
A dancer's dream -- wide, gleaming wood floors beckon. Faint smiles from ancestors' portraits lining the walls hint that they, too, may have enjoyed this room at one time.

Female Servants' Rooms
When they have time, the female servants -- housekeeper, lady's maid, kitchen, parlour and scullery -- sleep here. Each narrow room has two beds, a fireplace, and a large window. Once-a-week baths must be done in their rooms. Instant dismissal for any menservants found here!

Servants' Corridor
The life vein of the downstairs, the corridor is a long hall that runs through the basement of Fledston Hall. Bells line the ceiling, each smartly labeled with their corresponding room. If it rings, you'd best go. Another bell to listen for: there's a telephone here! -- but only for the housekeeper to use to place orders. Important cupboards that store the silver and linen are also accessed from here. In short, if you're just passing through, you'll usually find someone here.

The Kitchen
Filled with sizzling sounds and aromatic scents, the kitchen is the heart of the downstairs. Cupboards, plates, pots, pans and all other cooking bits and baubles line the walls. A massive black stovetop squats in the center of the room, guaranteed to have at least two pots on the top and a dish in the oven. In an adjoining room is the scullery.

Servants' Hall
A large, long table fills the center of this cozy common room, where the servants eat and can spend their free time. There's a piano here-- slightly old, but the master of the house makes sure it's well tuned-- and a fireplace. Of course, the bells hang on a wall, ready to ring if you're needed upstairs.

Footmen's Bedroom
A sparse room with two skinny beds set side-by-side. A small fireplace provides a little heat and a mantle to put some mementos from home. Two closets standing guard on either side of the sole window hold their individual uniforms.
