Note from Weird Sister: Our first story is the kind of christmasstory songs are written about. It's about spending those joyfull days with your loved ones. Or longing for them if that isn't possible. I think it's a really touching story.
A Christmas tale
He felt so lonely. So empty inside, because she wasn’t near him. Not today. This day. On Christmas Eve…He knew she wouldn’t be able to come, as she was at a medical conference. This should have made him feel slightly better. But no…He felt as lonely and as worried as if he didn’t know why she was being so late. They spent every Christmas together, but this time he had to spend it all alone. “ At least I could meditate a bit…” he thought, and sat by the window. He started to gaze at the lazy snowflakes, white, pure, small bits of his remained innocence. How they fell gracefully on the Earth…carressing the tired ground. Silence dominated. Only the fire burning playfully in the chimeny could be heard. He closed his eyes, imagining she was there. “ Promisse me you’ll be here…” “ I can’t…But I’ll give my best….” were the words she spoke one week before. How far those days seemed…He opened his eyes, hoping to see something. Nothing. The snowflakes kept falling lazily, with constant speed. He heard a knock. << Who’s there knocking at my window>> No, it was the door. He blinked. Maybe he had imagined it. No…he heard it again. He slowly got up, put a coat on him and silently opened the door. The sound of the blowing wind disturbed the peace inside. He saw nobody. As he made a step forward, he felt something under his feet. His eyes fell on the ground. It was a piece of paper. Curiously, he opened it. “ Close your eyes and let the snow flakes fall on your face.” What? Who had written this? Why? Strangely enough, these words seemed very familiar. He had heard them before. But when? And where? He read them again and decided to do so. So he stepped away from the door, into the snow. He closed his eyes and streched his neck. Such smoothness…Such purity…So soothing. << Oh, how I wish, for soothing rain.>> Snow…He kept meditating at those words, digging in his memory to find out who had told him that. And suddenly, like a lightning strikes, it came to his mind. He opened his mouth, as if he wanted to say something, and tried to open his eyes. But in the same moment he felt them covered. By two hands. Normally, he would have jumped, screamed…did anything to protect himself. Right then he stood there, in the snow, with his eyes covered by two misterious hands. He then heard somebody whispering in his ear… “ Why are you alone on Christmas Eve? Shouldn’t you be inside, drinking a cup of coffee and watching a movie with your loved one?” “ Yes, I should, but she is away….Or so I thought.” he said, and smiled. “ Now she’s back…and maybe the lovely miss would like to let me see her beautiful face. I really missed her.” He felt his eyes released. He turned around and saw the dear face of his girlfriend, who, by some miracle, had been able to come. “ Christmas is not for one…” she smiled and took his hand, leading him towards the house. The snow flakes were still falling…and falling…and falling….
