The cast are getting a bit old now. Do you think they will ever get around to making the movie? Because if they do, they may look too old to play the parts. Chris Barrie must be nearly 50, Craig Charles is in his 40's. Do you think they should just scrap the movie idea, and make one last series? I really hope they do make a movie, but there may come a time when they are just too old for the big screen, and will have to settle for a final series.

Anyway, your thoughts?

I'd prefer a final TV series to a film, because if Hollywood got hold of it and went ahead with it for certain, it would be hopelessly miscast and altered beyond all recognition, just like large chunks of Hitch Hikers. angry.gif
The original cast are a little long in the tooth to continue where the last series ended, but the writers could presumably move the clock forward a few years. The main problem would be Arnold; as a hologram, he shouldn't have changed or aged at all, and the charming Mr. Barrie has, of course.
Hollie, of course would have... it's just the sort of thing that would happen to the Universe's most disturbed computer. biggrin.gif

Oh well, I am possibly the only one that LOVED Hitchhikers movie... mainly because of Trillian and Arthur ending up together, a thing I felt that should have happened anyway, logically, because she is the Heroine and he is the Hero... there are some literary rules that should never be broken, and I loved the over all feel and Alan Rickman playing Marvin was pure genius... but then that's obviously just me.

As for Red Dwarf... well I agree with Fluffy, I'd prefer it to be a series exclusive to BBC, a last Wrap it up series! That's how it started so that is how it should finish.

NEWS FLASH !!!!!!!!

Red Dwarf the Movie]Red Dwarf the Movie
Check this as well

Looks promising. They look like filming it in Australia, where they filmed Star wars, The Matrix etc. Possibly starting in September

Apparently, the plot is going to be something like this.........

....if you don't want to read.....look away now..........

Scroll down v

RED DWARF THE MOVIE is set in the distant future where Homo Sapienoids, a fearsome combination of flesh and machine, and the next stage of human evolution, have taken over the solar system and almost wiped out the human race.

The only survivors are the crews of long-haul space freighters that left Earth before the conflict began. The Sapienoids send forth fleets of Death Ships to hunt them down. One by one - the human ships fall, until only one remains.

Its name - Red Dwarf...

It is rumoured that Leila Johnson will appear as Nirvana Crane (Not that loovley lass from opp north then), and Norman Lovett will most likely be the Holly

Oh, and they will most likely be using the re-mastered version of Red Dwarf (the long thin one).
