Fredrick
“Bind them up and carry them back to the house.” Fredrick ordered. Finally, he had gotten the only chance for the dragons bound together. Once everyone was inside (except for the two dragons, they were trapped in the warehouses) and the four captives were bound to chairs, Fredrick snapped his fingers and Lawson scuddled into the room, holding a tray with a cup of tea on it. “What the Hell? Why are you drinking tea?” The one named Trystan asked. “Because I’m British and what do British do best? Drink tea!” So he continued sipping his tea for a bit longer, before continuing. “I’m expecting you are all wondering how we all knew that you were going to be here.” Fredrick stood up and walked over to the apparently oblivious Noelle and pulled on the string that held her ring. She shook her head and asked, “What…what happened? Where am I?” “How, how did you?” Aggie asked. “Easy. My men walked broke into your house and switched her other ring with this one that controls minds.” “That explains the purple flashes in her eyes.” Aggie said to Trystan and Hal. “But…but why Ricky?” Noelle quietly asked. “Ricky?” Hal, Trystan, and Aggie all asked simoutanesouly. “Ah, has little Noelle left that little piece of info out?” Fredrick cackled, “Well, back around seven years ago, Noelle and I were, as you people would say, dating.” “And we’d still be together until I found out what you were doing with ze dragons. Now I’m ashamed for everyting I zaid to you zat was good.” Noelle spat. Fredrick laughed again and grabbed Noelle’s cheeks, “I know, deep down, you really still do love me as before.” “Ow could anyone love you after all zis death you’ve created?” Fredrick stared at her for a moment longer before letting go of her face. “No matter. Guards, take Trystan, Aggie, and our traitor away. Noelle is going to stay with me. But before you go,” Fredrick reached towards Aggie, grabbing the chain that held her ring, “I think I’ll take that.” He easily yanked it off. “Oh, and what are you going to do to us, Chinese water torture?” Trystan asked angrily. “Ah, Trystan, I’ve got something much more original planned. Good-bye!”
Agatha
The three of us were tossed into a dank room that reminded me of a sewage pipe. Literally tossed. Trystan landed face first in a nasty looking puddle made from, who knows what. Possibly whoever was here before. I landed straight on my bony butt, knowing darn well a bruise was going to form. Trystan lifted himself from the puddle and yelled to the guards, “Seems an awful lot like Water Torture if you ask me!” They didn’t care though. I brought my knees to my chest and wrapped my arms around them while looking smug, “Who was right afterall? Not Noelle that’s for sure. As it turns out she was even closer to Fredrick than Hal ever was.” “And personally, I happy about that.” Hal added. Trystan merely looked at the ground. “Aww, are you upset that Noelle likes older, richer men? And how she only kissed you because dear Fredrick wanted to see a little action to watch?” I asked rudely. “Oh my God Aggie! When are you going to learn?” Trystan asked. My brow furrowed in confusion, “What do you mean?” “I never like Noelle. Just because she was hot doesn’t mean squat…well, I’ll take that back. I didn’t like her personality, while I like yours.” “You…you do?” I was amazed at this. A guy who cares about personality? It’s like the apocalypse. It was quiet for awhile. Trystan turned and looked at me and Hal, grim covering his face from falling in the puddle, “What do you think they’re doing to Noelle?” “Let’s not think about that.” Hal answered gruffily. It was silent now except for the occasional drip drip drip of water falling to the floor. The sound was torture in itself. Then, without thinking of it, I said, “I’m sorry I was so rude to you sometimes Trystan. I mean, I was jealous of Noelle, there’s no doubt that that was why I acted that way. But even before that I would act like you were such an idiot. I’ve come to realize that that is not the case. You’ve helped us out so much. Heck, you even saved my life.” Trystan looked at me like I’ve just grown another head. That didn’t work out as well as I hoped. He smiled, “You should really learn how to swim though. It’s kind of pathetic. But yeah I did save you didn’t I?” “You sure did.” “I do remember back when you acted like a jerk. But perhaps you have to act that way when someone’s afraid of the woods.” I laughed. How could I forget Trystan’s strange fear of sleeping in the woods? I felt water begin to drip on my face, but I ignored it and continued reliving all of our memories from this adventure. “Remember when we jumped off that cliff?” “Yep, that was when we first met Ketina wasn’t it?” “Yeah.” It was quiet again as these thoughts sunk in. During our conversation I hadn’t realized that Trystan and I were standing closer and closer to each other. The atmosphere in the room was back-breaking, not referring to the fact that we could barely breathe in this stink. Suddenly Hal yelled, “Just kiss already! I’m getting sick of it!” I turned and looked at him, laughing from his outburst. But when I turned my face back to face Trystan, I became conscious of his face getting closer to mine, expression serious. I soon followed suit, a voice in my head saying, well, not the most romantic place. But hey it’s still a kiss. Our noses were just beginning to touch when the ground shook below us, “What the-“ Trystan looked down at the ground as well as Hal and I. “The floor is moving!” I shrieked, “What are we going to do?” “Ride it out?” Trystan offered. He was acting like this was some crazy wave and he was a surfer, “It might take us somewhere we want to be.” “Yeah right! We’re in a sewer jail cell. Where could it possibly take us that would be good?” “I was just trying to be optimistic.” The floor continued to move. Soon we could see part of another room. Only this one was much larger, much bigger than the warehouse holding the Great One, which was awfully big. The ground was covered by sand. Before long, the floor came to a halt in the middle of this large structure. What we saw around us wasn’t good. There were bones, some from unknown large creatures, others looking a lot like human bones. On the opposite end of the building were large double doors heavily guarded by Fredrick’s men. And we gazed upward to see something that reminded me of an observation deck. In it was Fredrick wearing a nice tux and hair as smooth and slick as ever. Noelle was right next to him, having mysteriously changed into a little, baby blue, elegant, and sparkly dress. Fredrick was holding a fistful of her long blonde hair, assuring she was looking at us. She was and she appeared much frightened. “Welcome gentlemen and lady, to one great building I’ve created.” Fredrick waved his hand, appreciating his own creation, “Now I’m so sure how much you guys will like it, considering what how it will be used for you guys.” “And how is that?” Trystan tried to sound brave, but he was truly frightened. “It’ll be your funeral. Wait, they’ll be none of you guys left to hold a funeral service for.” Fredrick laughed evilly. We saw streaks of tears along Noelle’s cheeks. Whatever that was going to happen to us, she already knew about and she wasn’t happy about it. “Guards, open the gates.” Fredrick laughed again as he was strolling out of the observation deck thing, Noelle screaming the entire way, “No!!! No, no, no, no, no!!” When they were out of sight the three of us turned back to face the doors, which were already open, with ominous darkness filling inside. Then we heard it; the stomp stomp of big feet. These feet were so big that they made the ground shake. And loud growling was the other sound we heard. Out of the doors walked four Wyvern dragons that looked hungry. |

“What’s taking them so long?!” I groaned, slouched in the passenger seat of our car. “I don’t know. I could’ve sworn they were both right behind me.” Hal stated. I turned my head around to see what they were doing, “They’re just…talking.” “About what pray tell?” Hal asked. Trystan suddenly had a look of confusion on his face. I watched his mouth move, only for Noelle’s to cover his in a kiss. What? I heard myself squeak in thought. Now, now Aggie. You don’t know if anything is going on. It could just have been an accident. How is it an accident?! She’s grabbing fistfuls of hair! Frenchie is French- kissing him! That’s no accident. I must have been expressing my pain, because Hal asked, “Is something wrong?” He turned around and saw what was going on. He shook his head and tsked, “I’ll never understand that boy. Has the hormones of a jackrabbit.” I didn’t get Hal’s metaphor, but I didn’t say anything. I was in too much pain. “Aww, relax Aggie. Just ask him about it later, when we’re not beside a cliff. Because no offence. But you do have a bit of a temper.” “I know.” I admitted as I blushed. Hal was like the dad I never had. Shortly the two traitors came back into the car. “Is everybody taken care of?” I turned around and looked at Trystan, who was still in shock. He looked at me and his eyes got bigger. At least he seemed like he cared a little. Noelle on the other hand began doing that weird silent thing that she’s been doing lately. Relax Aggie. I can tell that he wants to explain to you what had happened. Ketina assured me. So with that, I turned around and faced the road.
Fredrick
“Whatever you gentlemen do, if you see anyone roaming the grounds, don’t shoot or capture them until I give the signal.” Fredrick had called a meeting in his study room with his guards, “Any questions?” One brave soul decided to raise his hand, “Yes?” “Why is it that you want us to leave them alone for awhile?” Fredrick smiled wickedly. He was hoping someone would ask this question. “Because I want them to see the power I can do.”
Hal
Hal didn’t want to admit it, but he was terrified to be back to the Striedhart Mansion. It was so vast and covered from basement to towers with guards. Aggie looked out the window and was amazed by its size, “This guy really knows how to live.” “This is from all the money he gets from the dead dragons.” After that comment, Aggie didn’t like the mansion as much, “I’m just surprised no one has tried to stop us yet. But perhaps it’s because it’s late at night and not many people decide to break in. So the guards don’t pay attention as much.” He stated. He watched Aggie look in the back seat again. Hal decided not to say that her emotions were way too obvious. They had to focus on the task at hand. “Now I’m going to park the car right here.” He pulled into a patch of grass and stopped the car, “Tell Ketina that she and Izo are safe to come now. But tell them to be careful all the while. Wake up Trystan!” Hal yelled. Trystan jumped, “Are we there yet?” “Yeah. Time for us to move. Unless you don’t trust me.” Hal was making sure he kept that over Trystan’s shoulders. They all got out of the car and took all the packs out of the trunk. After a few strides into the grounds Izo and Ketina joined them. “Ketina says she’s a bit nervous about this. She told me how from the sky there appears to be multiple guards every corner you look.” “Ketina needs to learn how to relax.” Trystan gruffly stated. “Someone else needs to learn where their feelings lie.” Aggie answered back. Hal rolled his eyes. These kids are so obnoxious. Can’t they just learn to deal for a little while? “We’re not going inside right away. The grounds have enough. There’s big warehouses in the back.” Hal stated. It helped that he learned this place like the back of his hand before being fired. They continued creeping in the shadows of the enormous stone structure even though it seemed as if no one was trying to find them. That’s weird. Hal thought. “Ketina agrees with you.” Aggie whispered to him. How could he forget that he has no privacy in his mind? Once they reached the back Hal watched as Aggie and Trystan’s jaws dropped. He was surprised that Noelle didn’t follow their suit due to the fact that she’s never seen this place before. “C’mon!” Hal waved at them to follow him to a warehouse. When everyone was standing in front of the doors, Hal opened them. Inside this warehouse were Hummers. Tons of them, around ten or twelve. And considering how costly they were, those are a lot. “What does he need these all for?” Aggie questioned. “Missions. I went on a couple involving these bad boys.” “Of course you did. See, Aggie. Can’t you learn to understand why I sided with her?” Trystan tried to help Aggie feel a little better. When he said her they all turned to Noelle, who was just staring into space, eyes dark. Wait, I thought her eyes were light coloured. Ah well, must be the dark. Hal thought. “Let’s try another.” He closed up the doors to this warehouse and walked up to the next one, opening it like the last one. This one had many different things inside it. There were around fifty silver tanks glinting in one corner, a giant net hanging from the rafters to the floor, and the one wall was lined with the strangest looking pieces of equipment. “Now those I have never seen.” Hal confessed. They appeared to be knives, but they also seemed too advanced. “God, Ketina. Would you stop yelling? You’re giving me a terrible headache!” Aggie complained. They all looked at her, wondering what Ketina could possibly be saying. Aggie answered their curiosity, “Ketina knows what this all is. These knives are specially made to torture and kill dragons.” Aggie said this with sorrow. The group admired the deathly pieces of metal only to notice one that was dark. Hal walked up to it and ran his figure along the dark liquid, “It’s blood.” Hal answered with more sorrow. “That means there’s a dragon here though. Let’s go find it!” Trystan was acting like a child in a candy store. They solemnly closed up this warehouse and opened the next one, terrified, excited, and curious to see what was inside.
Agatha
A dragon was inside this warehouse. And it was one of the most elaborate and beautiful of all the dragons she has ever seen. It took my breath away, as well as Trystan’s and Hal’s. This dragon was more serpentine than the others without any wings. It had long horns and whiskers that reminded me of a koi fish. And even in the dark we could see that it was bright colours of green, gold, silver, and blue. Once Ketina got a better view I heard her gasp in her mind. Do you know who that is? It’s the One, the Chinese dragon I told you about earlier. The Great One wheezed as a dragon would, a puff of smoke coming out of his nostrils. We soon came to realize that he was also slick with blood. The Great One looked at me with pain in his eyes, hello little one. A deep, wise-sounding voice appeared in my mind. It threw me off a bit because I was so used to Ketina’s little feminine voice. I’m sorry that you were unable to see me in all my glory. But I must let you know, the Great One shuddered for a moment, Except for the Wyvern helping this man who did this to me, there are only seven dragons left, soon to be six. I understood what he meant. He was going fast. Get him soon. There’s not much time left. Izo, would you do the honors? I didn’t know what the last part was suppose to mean, but Izo moved closer to the Great One and bent as far as a dragon can bend. I watched him bring out a claw and slowly slide it in the Great One, puncturing his heart. He stopped struggling. “What? What was that for?! We could have saved him!” Didn’t you hear him Aggie? It’s want he wanted. He was in too much pain already. But the goods news is that he said that even though he was tortured greatly, he didn’t say where the other four dragons are hiding. I turned to Ketina and saw water dripping from her eyes. Dragons can cry? Who knew? I realized then that I was crying. I turned back to our troupe to see Izo crying as well and Hal and Trystan looking incredibly sad. Only Noelle appeared the same as she’s been this entire trip. I snapped then, “Why won’t you feel anything anymore?!” I ran towards her and grabbed each of her shoulders, shaking her, “This is sad!! Have you turned into some kind of robot?” As soon as I said that lights came on inside the warehouse. I turned around and almost threw up considering I could see the exact damage that was done to the Great One. With his intestines sticking out like that, I was suddenly glad that Izo did what he did. I also noticed tons of people wearing black, pointing guns at us. There was one man in the center, with black hair slicked back and a pair of almost black, unforgiving eyes. “That’s exactly the case Agatha Mozley.” Fredrick said with a cold humor. |

Trystan
I really wanted to go to bed now, but it seemed like there was no way to do so. The four of us sat on the couches while Izo and Ketina lay not too far away listening to us talk and our thoughts. Aggie kept pounding Hal with questions, trying to determine if he was on our side. Noelle sat quietly listening, barely moving. She seemed to be staring into space. I continued watching her strange behavior until she suddenly came back from la-la land, “I know what we should do.” We all stared at her. It was the first thing she said since we had awoken her. She continued, “Now zat we have Hal we should go and break into ze house of Fredrick.” “And why would we do that?” Aggie asked with a hint of anger. She was beginning to have serious problems with Noelle. Noelle didn’t realize that and answered, “Well, zere is probably tons zat we can find out by going zere. We could find real proof zat links Fredrick indefinitely to all ze killings of ze dragons.” “She has a point there Aggie.” I agreed. “Oh shut up.” Aggie snapped at me. “Jeez, sounds like someone needs sleep.” I responded. I watched Aggie’s shoulders sag as she broke down and admitted, “I know I do, but-“ “No buts. You should get some sleep.” Noelle mindlessly stated. We stared at her again. “Can I talk to you in private Trystan?” Aggie asked. I didn’t get to respond because Aggie began dragging me from the room. Once we were in the dark front foyer Aggie stopped pushing me and crossed her arms along her chest. “So what was it you dragged me out here for?” “Have you noticed that Noelle has been acting strange suddenly?” She looked up at me curiously. “Sure. But you are too. Perhaps she needs sleep too.” “No, no. She isn’t talking as much and did you see the way she first looked at Hal?” “Maybe she just isn’t talking as much because it’s late. And she wasn’t the one who kicked Hal in the crotch when she first met him.” “For Christ’s sake Trystan! Stop trying to defend her! Something is really up. And besides, I only kicked Hal because the last time we met he was trying to kill us. Noelle had never met him before.” “Or so we think.” “I said stop defending her,” Aggie pushed me in anger. I slammed into the wall, surprised she was that strong, “Haven’t you noticed how Ketina has been acting at all. Or were you too busy staring at Noelle?” I was silent for a moment. She knew what my answer would be, “I don’t get you anymore. One second you like me and the next you like Noelle.” “Just because I find Noelle attractive doesn’t mean I like her. Now what was it that Ketina noticed?” She knew I was trying to change the subject, but she let it slide, “Ketina noticed that her mind is blank. There’s no though going on in there. Unless she’s blocking everything, and it’s awfully hard to block your entire mind from a dragon. It’s as if she became a true blonde. Her mind is so blank, as Ketina says, 'That she should be considered brain-dead.'” “First, don’t call her a blonde,” Even though it was dark, I saw Aggie roll her eyes. I was defending Noelle again, but I didn’t care, “And doesn’t it mean that if you’re brain-dead, you’re-“ “Dead yes. She shouldn’t be talking. Brain-dead is like being in a coma on life support.” “But she isn’t acting that way.” “I know that. Now do you think there’s something wrong?” “Yes, I do,” I sighed, “So what are we going to do?” “We’ll just have to go to Fredrick’s mansion. But in the mean time I think I’ll go to bed.” “I’ll go tell them that’s where you went.” And for the first time that we have both known each other, there was awkwardness in the air as we stood in silence for a few seconds, before Aggie left for bed. Why was that?
Agatha
I woke up feeling much more rejuvenated and back to my old cheerful self. But I still had doubts about our plan of going to Fredrick’s. After all, miss Brain-dead was the one who came up with it. Who knows, maybe we’re wrong and Noelle is blocking her entire mind. I slowly got out of bed and changed out of my pj’s into normal clothes and walked downstairs, seeing that Hal and Trystan had already gotten most of the few supplies that we needed packed. “Why didn’t you guys wait for me?” They both looked up from admiring their handiwork to look at me, who was standing at the foot of the stairs, “Where’s Noelle?” I asked, walking up to them. “She’s fixing her hair.” Trystan answered. I smiled. There was a downside to insanely long hair after all. Plus that was something that the old Noelle would do. Perhaps I just imagined things last night. I turned to see Izo and Ketina looking at me expectantly. Hal looked up from finishing up a pack and saw the sight, shaking his head, “There too visible. For us to fly on them to Fredrick’s, we might as well have fluorescent arrows pointing at us saying, ‘Here we are! We also have two dragons with us. It’s as if we’re serving ourselves to you on a silver platter.’ We’re taking a car. Sorry guys. I said to Ketina. We can’t get caught. We understand. We’ll make sure to stay hidden. Noelle then walked down the stairs, “Are we ready yet? I mean, we should get moving.” “Yep, we’re all ready. I have a car outside now.” We each grabbed a pack, slung them onto our backs and held the large doors wide open to allow Ketina and Izo wide berth. Sitting outside for us was a simple silver car, quite old in fact. Trystan groaned, “Of all the cars you could have gotten us. That piece of crap?” “Sorry Trystan. I just want to blend in. Would you rather have a nice car and be dead or have a crappy car and alive?” Trystan was silent then. My curiosity suddenly acted up, causing me to ask, “So where does this Fredrick live?” “Fredrick likes to be quite secretive. His abode is right near the border between France and Italy, near a small town called Briançon in the Alps. The good news is that there are roads the entire way; the problem though is that I’m not quite sure of each road. So that means we’ll have to stop every now and then.” I nodded in understanding. After a bit of thought I laughed to myself. Trystan’s favorite: mountains.
Trystan
This road trip of ours was pretty bizarre. Hal drove in silence, Noelle was silent because…I don’t really know why, and Aggie was silent, but I would see her glance at me from the corner of her eye every once in awhile. Ooo, I forgot to add that there are two dragons following us as well. After two days we had reached the foot of the Alps. Then after another day we were halfway up. By that time Hal admitted he didn’t know the entire way, which meant we had to begin to stop. This time we stopped at the top of a cliff which served as a tourist spot to take billions of pictures. There was even one of those binocular things that you had to pay fifty cents to use. Once the car came to a halt I got out and ambled to the edge of the precarious cliff and looked over. It was a long way down. I went back to the car and lied on the hood, still warm from running so long for so many days. Hal stood by the area where I had just looked over and looked into the mountains, using his hand to shield his eyes from the light. Noelle stood staring at the ground. I was sorry to admit it, but perhaps Aggie was right. Something was up with Noelle, although none of us knew what. Speaking of Aggie, she was the one who walked into the woods, stating she had to go to the bathroom. This is how our little troop was for awhile, but soon Hal spoke, “I’ve found the road that we need to take. Our trip should only be-hey! What the-“ Hal didn’t finish because he yelled in fright. I lifted my head up to see Hal gone, with Noelle looking over the cliff with a straight face. “Hal!” I shot up and ran to the edge. He was still not a pancake at the bottom, holding onto a loose root. “What happened?” Aggie was suddenly behind me. “I don’t know. First he was talking, then he was falling.” I was proving to be no help at all. “Don’t worry Hal! Ketina is coming to get you right now!” Aggie shouted, “So did he just fall or,” She turned towards Noelle with an angered expression, “Did you have anything to do with this?” “What are you talking about? I would never push someone off a cliff.” “Yeah Aggie. Do you really think someone as tiny as her could push Hal off the cliff?” “Hey! I heard that!” Hal yelled. He was no on the back of Ketina, who lowered him back to the ground, “Thank you Ketina. Now go back out of sight. We don’t need any camera-happy tourists to spot you,” With that, Ketina nodded and flew away, out of sight again. Hal turned back towards the three of us, “Sounds like someone was calling me fat.” Well, the guy did have a beer belly. “Do you know what happened Hal?” “Honestly Aggie. He fell off the cliff. He’s still alive, so let’s go now.” I interrupted. “No Trystan. I want to know what happened and I think it had something to do with her.” She pointed angrily at Noelle, who responded quickly, “Zis is an outrage! Ze one zat we shouldn’t trust ere is Hal. He is ze one who was once one of Fredrick’s. How dare you accuse me Aggie! Don’t you understand zat you and Hal are ze ones that are malfunctioning ere.” Noelle glared at Aggie, and then looked at me, her eyes big, “You do believe me, right Trystan?” She looked like a little child. I looked at Aggie, then Hal, then returned my gaze back to Noelle. I stared at her for awhile. How could she ever lie? And how could she ever push someone like Hal over the cliff? She’s obviously telling the truth, “I,” I was talking very slowly, “I have to side with Noelle on this one. Hal was the one who was on Fredrick’s side once.” “Yeah, and I hated it.” Hal responded to the batter thrown at him now. Aggie threw her arms up in the air, “I hate how you do this. You always side with her. No matter what! I’m sick of it all! But it doesn’t matter; let’s just get in the car.” Aggie stomped, hurled the passenger car door open, and slammed it shut behind her. Hal soon followed, only going into the driver’s side. “zanks for believing me Trystan.” “Anytime Noe-“ I stopped in mid-word, for something caught my eye. Noelle’s eyes were ice blue, but right now they were…purple, as if someone spilled dark ink in her eyes. “What-what happened to your-“ I didn’t get to finish that sentence either, because Noelle embraced me and began kissing me. That’s right, she randomly was kissing me. After a moment or so she released me, repeating, “Zanks again Trystan.” Her eyes were the normal pale blue now. Noelle then walked back to the car, blonde hair trailing behind her. Me, I was still in shock.
Fredrick
“That was a close one sir. They almost figured it out.” Lawson rambled in support. Fredrick had just made Noelle kiss the Trystan fellow, who noticed the eye color flicker that lasted a bit longer than Fredrick had hoped. Even though Fredrick had just saved their entire plan, he didn’t fell so well. It was a strange feeling for him, and it was aimed at the auburn haired man that he just made Noelle kiss. That emotion was envy. |

Trystan
Noelle was…peculiar. She had really long blonde hair and eyes that were almost as pale as Izo’s. She was pretty and French. “Oh, don’t worry. I know everyting about you guys from reading your minds.” With that she lifted her necklace that was identical to ours into the light. I’m starting to get sick of not having any privacy in my mind. And how it seemed like all of these dragonologists were attractive, “Unlike you Aggie, I ‘ad dis necklace much longer zan you. You’ll be able to do it eventually too.” Great, soon Aggie will hear my mind too. “Does zat boter you Trystan?” Noelle looked at me and I was entranced in her pale blue eyes, “Hum, well.” She stared at me for a moment. I soon felt this strange sensation, as if my head was being pulled away. Once she turned away it stopped. I placed my hand on my head, “Iz someting wrong?” Noelle asked. “No. Nothing at all.” “Good. Now let me show you around.” She went back downstairs and looked up at Izo and Ketina. “Wow! Two dragons. Never tought I’d see ze day.” She curtsied in front of them. I whispered to Aggie, “Why is she doing that?” “It’s a way of respect. Look it up sometime.” “Now let’s continue.” Noelle said. She walked into each room and told how she got most of the things there. Most were gifts that were given to her by some extremely famous people. For example, it turns out she’s friends with Johnny Depp’s wife and was at his last birthday party. “Why is it that all of your other stuff is kind of hidden upstairs?” I asked. “Oh, you mean ze dragon stuff. ‘Ow would you feel if you walk in zere and saw all of ‘dis…contraptions. You’d tink I was a freak. Now,” She began as she sat on her couch, “Let’s get down to buiznez. So as you ‘ad noticed or ‘ad been told by Ketina or Izo, zere is zomething out zere killing ze dragons. Ze good news is ‘ow we’ve finally figured out who it is.” With that, she picked up a manila folder. Noelle opened it and pulled out a photo, laying it on the coffee table. “’Dis is the man. Frederick Striedhart. He ‘as been part of the dragon population depleting for years. But we ‘ave only found him now. He tends to move around. Smart man, smart man.” Noelle stopped for a moment as she thought about Frederick’s smarts, “But he must be stopped all ze while.” It was quiet as Aggie looked through all of the information. During this time I once again felt that pulling sensation. I looked to see Noelle looking at me again. I watched as her eyes got big for a moment and then looked away saying, “Alright. I’ll need to show you where you will sleep. Just dis way.” She walked back upstairs and down a long hallway, stopping short at one door, “Dis is where you’ll sleep Aggie. And you Trystan…” She walked a couple of feet more, stopping at another door, “You’ll sleep ere. Now I’m going to do a bit more research on zis…Fredrick guy.”
Fredrick
“Hmmm, they’re in France right now with our good friend Noelle.” “Wait, how is it that you know her?” Fredrick’s new assistant, Lawson, asked. “We had…a past.” Fredrick stared at the screen, staring at a freeze frame of Noelle. “Sir, sir,” Lawson quietly asked. Fredrick turned back towards him, “What is it that you want now?” He roared. “Well sir,” Lawson was much more skittish than Hal, “I-I would like to k-know what y-your p-plan is?” Fredrick rubbed his chin while he thought. “Please get the Rhodolite for me.” “Yes.” While Lawson was running off to get what Fredrick asked for, he continued staring at the freeze frame. A couple minutes later Lawson jogged back in holding a tiny box. Fredrick smiled taking the box from Lawson’s shaky hand. “Do you know the power of Rhodolite?” Lawson shook his head quickly. Fredrick continued smiling, “I expected that. Rhodolite is a powerful little purplish red gem, found in Tanzania. My dragons help me greatly in supplying it for me, for not many wish to pull it from the ground, know why?” “N-no.” “Because it has mind-holding powers.” “You mean, like holding a brain?” “No you idiot! Mind-control! We’re going to control Noelle’s mind.” “W-why not t-the o-others?” “Because imbecile. Unlike the others Noelle has the power to talk to the dragons without the need of a ring. Would be way less suspicious.” “Ah, so should I get the agents to follow this plan through.” “Please do so. And tell them all to not look at it at all; otherwise they’ll be the ones who’ll listen to me, not Noelle.” Fredrick handed Lawson the box back, but Lawson merely looked at him questionaly, “Yes?” Fredrick was starting to lose his patience. “H-how do you t-tell them w-what t-to do?” “Easy.” With that, Fredrick displayed his hand. On it was another ring, only this one was much more ornate, with markings engraved on the gold surrounding the gem, “This is made of Pyrope, one of the materials that form Rhodolite. I talk to it and the ring that it’s linked to, which is that one, will make the wearer follow all directions. Anything else?” “N-no.” “Then be off.”
Hal
Hal was beginning to get sick of his job already, and he has had only one assignment: find Trystan and Aggie. This wild goose chase has led him everywhere he could think of in only two weeks. He was walking along the road that led to Noelle’s house when he saw a fancy, sleek, dark car drive up the way. He took a closer look at the hood where an ornate silver Chinese dragon hood ornament sat. I know those cars anywhere. He thought. Every one of Fredrick’s cars looked like that. Uh-oh! They must know where they are. Adrenaline kicked in as he dove into the woods lining the street and began running as fast a possible to try and reach the house before the car.
Agatha
Shut up Ketina! Don’t you ever sleep?! I was yelling in my mind because as I was trying to get to sleep, Ketina wouldn’t stop trying to talk to me. I read you like a book. You are so jealous of Noelle. I just know it. I’m not jealous. I just…don’t trust her. You’re jealous of her hair. Stop reading my mind! You’re jealous of how Trystan looked at her. Would you let me sleep!! Ketina backed away finally allowing me to sleep. Although I heard her from outside laughing with Izo. Too bad Ketina isn’t the only one who kept me from sleep. Shortly after she stopped bugging me I heard a knock on the door. “Yes?” I asked grumpily. “Zis is Noelle. Can I come in?” “Fine.” She slowly opened the door. I brought my head up to look at her. Her hair was out of the bun and it went down to her waist. How in the world did she get all of that hair into that tiny bun? “I came to talk to you. But it appearz you were trying to zleep?” “No, that’s alright,” Lies. I thought to myself. Noelle suddenly had a hurt expression on her face, “I didn’t mean that.” “I understand. Ketina spoke to me,” Grrr, Ketina. “Zat’s what I came to talk about. You and Trystan.” “What about us?” I asked, grabbing the cup of water from my nightstand, taking a sip as Noelle continued, “Your relationship.” As soon as she said that word I couldn’t help back spit the water onto my bed. “What?!” I finally asked. Noelle shrugged as if nothing was wrong, “Ketina talked to me about it. But when I read Trystan’s mind yesterday he zeemed to…like me. But zat must not be ze case. You two were meant for each other and I will not get in ze way of zat.” “You shouldn’t listen to Ketina She’s crazy.” “Remember what I zaid Aggie.” I sighed. Guess I better listen to her. I had finally given up my will power. It’s about time. I heard Ketina say, snorting mentally. I slowly walked up the stairs and saw Ketina on the way there watching me. Go on. She insisted. I quietly knocked on Trystan’s door. He opened it. I forgot what I was supposed to say then. Stop thinking this way! You don’t like him you don’t like him. I repeated in my head. I looked at Trystan again. Alright, maybe his hair is amazing. And his green eyes are perfect and he’s…Fine I do like him! “You wanted something?” He asked. As I was having this war with myself I forgot he was there. “Oh right.” Now what was it I wanted to say? You were going to ask him for a walk. Right. Thanks Ketina. Anytime. “Do you want to go for a walk? After all, we’re still in Paris.” I asked. “Alright.” He left his room to follow me. As we walked by Ketina she started that laughing thing she does. Have fun! I think you’re enjoying this more than me. Once we had left the big doors of Noelle’s mansion and walked down the walkway a bit Trystan asked, “So what’s this about?” I looked into the sky and sighed, “I thought you liked me.” “What?” “Back before we met Noelle you liked me.” “Who said that I stopped?” “Noelle said that she’s…heard some things from your mind.” As soon as I said that Trystan threw his head back and put his hands on his face, “Is there anyone who will give me privacy in my mind?” He looked back at me, face slightly pick. What is it that he could have possibly been thinking? “Wait, why is it that you care?” It was my turn to be flustered, “I have no idea really? It was just a shock for me for you to suddenly like someone like Noelle.” “What’s wrong with her?” “I…I just don’t trust her is all.” “Why do I think you’re jealous of her?” “I’m not-“ Just then we heard rustling in the bushes we were just walking by. Something was coming towards us from the woods. Fast. “What could that possibly be?” Trystan was starting to stand in front of me to defend me, but shortly after a man stumbled out of the woods. He looked up at us and I immediately recognized the guy. “Hey-“ He couldn’t say anymore, for I had kicked him in the crotch, hard. He doubled over almost instantly. “Aggie! What the Hell was that for?” “Don’t you see who that is? That’s one of Fredrick’s helpers. The one I shot in the hand.” We looked back over to the guy who was still suffering from the pain I caused him, shakily putting his hand up in the peace sign. I gasped. “Wha…What happened to your hand?” The man’s hand was gone, replaced by a prosthesis. He slowly stood back up, watching me warily, “That was from you. The doctors couldn’t save it from all the damage you did. And quite frankly, I think the damage you just caused me will keep me from having children. I’m on your side now. Here’s proof.” And with that the man pulled his cell phone out and showed us Carlo’s cell phone number. “How do we know you’re not a double agent?” I asked. “Fredrick fired me. After he found out about my hand, he fired me. So I thought to irk him I would join the team he’s against. But I need to say something really important,” The guy was panting awfully hard. He must have been running for awhile. Or it was because of me hitting him, “A group of Fredrick’s agents are driving up to your house right as we speak.” “What for?” “How am I supposed to know?” The man whined. I turned and began running back to the house with Trystan and the man I shot right behind me. Soon we had made it back to the house and from the sound of it, we made it in time before everyone died of exhaustion. The man dropped to the ground as soon as we stopped and panted heavily, as if he was having trouble breathing. Even Trystan was a little winded. For once I was glad I was on the high school track team. “Get-down.” The man wheezed. Trystan and I dropped behind the bushes and peeked over. Sitting in the driveway was a dark coloured car. Some men came out, holding big guns. “Looks like we shouldn’t try and stop whatever they are doing.” Trystan whispered to me. There was one guy holding a tiny box that he seemed to keep away from himself as if he believed the box would explode at any moment. They walked into the house, turning on few lights. “Noelle!” Trystan yelled. As soon as he yelled that he covered his mouth and looked at me. “She is in there alone. But by now she’s probably asleep. We’ll only stop these guys if we see them come out with Noelle, a dragon, or some piece of dragon equipment,” I began, ignoring what Trystan did, “They can take whatever crap she has in there. Just nothing that I listed.” After a short time the men walked back out of the house. But what was peculiar was how they didn’t have anything in their hands that they didn’t walk in with before: big guns and a tiny box. The only difference was that the guy that held the box didn’t mind this time that it was closer to him. Once the car back out of the drive we ran into the house, yelling, “’Noelle! Noelle are you here?” We ran upstairs and flung her door open. She was just waking up, rubbing her eyes and asking, “What’s all ze screaming about?” She was fine, looked exactly the same as before. We looked downstairs and saw Ketina and Izo sleeping happily. Noelle was walking down the stairs after us, looking at us strangely. “You two were gone for awhile, huh cherie. But what appened while I was asleep. And who is zat?” She asked, pointing towards the one- handed man. “I am Hal.” He answered, bowing before Noelle all gentlemanly-like. It was strange, but I thought I saw a flicker of recognition in her eyes that soon turned to hate when she learned who Hal was. And, perhaps I could be crazy from lack of sleep, but I could have sworn there was a flicker of…purple in her ice blue eyes as well. |

Agatha
Everything was so foggy. I could barely remember how I fell in the water. My throat was as sore as it could possibly be. It’s all I can think about. I weakly opened my eyes to see trees. I never thought I could miss trees so much to imagine them, but then I saw I was lying on soft dirt. I sat up and a wave of dizziness hit me. I see you’re finally awake. A voice said in my head. It took me a few moments to realize whose voice it was. Where are we? I asked quietly in my head. We are on a small island off the coast of Greenland called Jan Mayen. Many dragons once inhabit it long ago. We are in one of the few forested areas on it. That’s when I saw Trystan emerge out of the fog. “I see you’re up?” He sounded annoyed. “Well how long was I out?” “Huh, I thought you had died again. It’s been about five days.” The annoyance still was defiant in his voice. “Five Days! Why haven’t you guys been doing anything? You could have been to China by now! We could have even been to this man’s house! Why did you wait?” I asked. I finally understood why Trystan was irritated. We couldn’t have flown with you unconscious. What if you fell? Besides, for right now, the skies aren’t safe. Ketina calmly stated. And Trystan should know better to be angry with you. He knows as well as I that it was for the best. My thoughts were still focused on one thing she said. How can the air be unsafe? Don’t you remember seeing something before you fell? I thought very hard. Well, it was like a great big black mass that rushed towards us. Not all of the dragons are on our side. What? How could any kind of dragon side with that monster? There’s one, and it’s terrible that they would be with him. Do you know of the Wyvern Dragon? I thought back to my studies in the Dragonoloy site. Not much because we all thought they were extinct. Oh, they’re very much alive. Did you know that they’re the vainest species around? I noticed Izo landed a distance off because I felt it when he hit the ground. Ah, good news. Izo says the sky is clear of danger, we should leave soon. But I’ll continue. The Wyvern believes they’re the best dragons out of all of rest, so whenever they have the chance they tear apart other species. For them to hear about a man killing other species, they jumped to a chance to join him. Ketina seemed very solemn about it. What makes it worse is how they are the perfect killing machines. They eat elephants for food. And they even look evil to boot. If only they knew that this man will surely betray them in the end. “Are you guys done chatting?” Trystan asked. He seemed to have relaxed a bit. “Yeah I guess so.” I was still a little woozy, like I just rode a boat in a hurricane. We packed up all of the things and prepared for the trip. I got my three coats on and my wool hat on because we were still high up north, and it only got colder higher up. But thankfully, I realized as we flew higher, that it was warmer. I quickly shrugged two of the jackets off and sat on them because Ketina’s scales weren’t the most comfortable thing in the world. As we were soaring in the sky I figured out that I didn’t mind looking at the ground. I watched the ocean whiz by, followed by farmland and cities. I thought I even saw the mountain we started this adventure on. It was only when I saw the buildings getting bigger did I realize we were landing.
Hal
Hal saw something. He saw two big somethings flying beyond the trees. That has got to be them. What else could that have been? Hal continued staring up at the sky until the masses, like small airplanes, flew out of sight. He pulled his phone from his pocket and pressed speed dial 2. “Carlo.” “What no hello? So what is it that you want?” Hal ignored the lost greeting. “I saw something.” “We did find two things on the radar that could be dragons, and they could be with the two, but you should go and check it out. They have already landed.” “Well, where have they landed?” Hal tried to keep venom out of his voice because he hated being the person to go everywhere. No one else was really doing anything. But he listened anyway. “They have landed in France.” “Why of all places France?” “There is another one of us stationed there. Some blonde French girl. I forget her name. Janelle, Corelle, something like that. So you better get a move on before you miss them, alright.” “Fine.” Then Hal hung up.
Trystan
“Why France?” I asked Aggie, being too annoyed to be nice. The French were snobby stuck-up people that hated Americans. “Because I know someone there. You don’t really believe that crap about the French hating the Americans. Noelle is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. She’s also one of the smartest.” “I don’t care. I still hate their accents.” “Most men fall in love with French women accents, you’re just being an…an idiot.” We had finally landed in a meadow that wasn’t too far away from Paris because I could see the tip of the Eiffel tower. Ketina landed with a small thud and Izo was, well not as quiet. Ketina must have realized because she looked at him with stern eyes. He just rolled his eyes. “So where is this Noelle?” I asked as I slide down Ketina’s back. “She isn’t too far away. She kind of lives in the woods. Beside a cliff where you can see the Eiffel tower. Yeah she has an amazing house. The one wall is all windows. But that’s not the point, the point is, where is it?” “You don’t even know where this girl lives?! Ugh, it’ll take us even longer to get to China if we have to ask directions.” I was furious. Here we were, standing in the most pointless of situations. “Don’t worry,” She hastily said, “We’ll just fly around until we find her house.” “Yeah we’ll just fly around Paris with two dragons. That makes perfect sense.” “Uh why didn’t I think of it before?! We’ll just call her.” Aggie dug around in her pockets. “Mine’s not here, how about yours?” I put my hand in my pocket. Nothing. I must have lost it while saving Aggie. Aggie sighed when I shook my head. “We’ll just have to use a payphone. Which means having to walk through the forest. But it doesn’t look that deep does it?” “Nah. Shall you go first?” “Gee thanks. But I think it would be better if you went first.” I can really hate Aggie sometimes. I don’t like forests all that much, especially in Europe when there are wolverines. Nasty little creatures.
Agatha
I hate having to go into the wilderness with Trystan. It’s like he thinks some freaky monster will come out and eat him. But once you think about the past events (meeting two dragons and almost being drowned by one) it doesn’t seem all that crazy. So Trystan was a little freaked out when a squirrel jumped onto a tree, I was afraid that the dragons weren’t done with me. That two will pop out and eat us both and then fly away before Ketina and Izo know about them. I hope they would eat me first. I wouldn’t expect it and it would be real sudden. Just gulp; and I’d be dead. So after about an hour both of us were screaming every five minutes. Izo just laughed at us and Ketina kept saying to me, don’t think like that we would never let that happen to you. Look we’re almost there, and then another hour past. It was dusk when we finally reached the street and I breathed a sigh of relief. After a while we found a phone booth. “Do you have four quarters?” I asked Trystan. “Aren’t supposed to use euros or something like that?” “No. They make this easier for tourists. Now can I have four quarters?” I asked again. He dug in his pocket and found four. “Thanks.” I put them into the phone and pressed zero. “Bonjour! Operator speaking.” “Hi-um Bonjour. We would like to get directions to a Noelle Rousseau’s house.” “Oooo…zhat ‘ouse is very far out zhere. Why would you want to go zhere?” “She’s…family.” “Strange. Why would you not know where ‘er ‘ouse is? Never mind. It’s two two zix street. Very dark. Up in ze woods.” “Zhank-uh I mean thank you.” “Anytime to ‘elp a tourist.” I hung the phone on the hook. “Well.” Trystan looked really impatient. “She’s right up this road.” “And you know this how?” “Because the road is dark up ahead and he said it’s up a dark road.” So we, minus our two dragons that were still in the deep woods to keep from being seen, began trudging up the hill that led to Noelle’s house. It took us about two hours to get up Hill Street (what Trystan decided to call it, for we can’t read French). Ketina and Izo were waiting for them. It took you two forever to get here. We’re just human if you haven’t realized. We’re not giant dragons that can just fly up. Ketina sniffed. I’m not that big. I rolled my eyes and we turned left onto Six street and looked for 22, which wasn’t hard because it was the only house on the street. Frankly, it was the only house all the way up here, and for good reason. No one wants to find a bunch of dragon gear in their neighbor’s house; they’ll think it’s crazy. So we knocked on the door, but there was no answer. The door was tall and wide, as if it was meant for dragons even though none have come through before. Izo gently tapped his snout against the door and it opened by itself. We slowly walked in. It was a gorgeous house. Like I said before, the one wall was a giant window. The ceilings were very high, with a skylight. Edgar Degas and Claude Monet paintings decorated the walls. The most unusual thing was how the welcome mat had a Renaissance dragon on it. We walked out of the entrance hall and into another the room: the kitchen. “Food!” Trystan yelled. His mouth was watering from looking at a bowl of oranges. “No. Don’t take her food without permission.” “Stop acting like my mother. I’m so tired of that crappy food we’ve had to eat for the past week. If I don’t eat an orange right now I’ll surely get scurvy standing right here.” That’s when we heard something upstairs. I ran to the stairs and called Trystan over, who took an orange after I told him not to. “How charming. You have orange pulp on your face.” He wiped it on his sleeve. We walked up the stairs into a different room with all kinds of equipment. Scales, microscopes, cameras, and papers littered the tables. There was someone in the chair picking up a broken beaker. “’ello Trystan O’Malley and Agaza Mozley.” She turned around in the swivel chair and looked at us. Noelle Rousseau had the same necklace as me. |

Hal
Hal had joined with “the good guys” officially. And his first assignment was to look for the kids that got him fired in the first place. He decided to look in the first place he saw them in, which was the forest. So as he walked up the hill he looked for any possible signs that they’re still there. He even looked under rocks. But there was nothing that he could find. Maybe I should look for their broken bodies at the bottom of the cliff. Hal slowly edge toward the edge of the cliff. He looked down. There was nothing at the bottom. So they did survive after all. How is that possible? Then the one possibility came to mind. Dragons. Forget looking for those two people. I bet a 50 foot dragon is a lot easier to find. So he began his search everywhere around the cliff. He feared that because of Fredrick’s poison techniques, the dragon moved on. That’s when he saw a glint of gold in the waterfall. He decided to investigate. It’s a cave. It was true. There was a cave behind the waterfall. They could be in there right now. Now how to get in there? He searched for any possible ledge that could support his weight because he wasn’t the lightest. None. That dragon must’ve wanted to make sure nobody could get in. Or out. He would have to jump. Hal gulped. He found a position where he was facing to mouth of the cave on a diagonal. He got a running start and jumped. I’m not going to make it. He worried. After a little yelp he ungracefully made it through the waterfall and into the cave. And what he found was amazing: jewels and gold of every shape, size color, and carat. He mouth dropped dramatically. I wonder if I could take any of this. He looked around. That’s when he noticed a black jacket among the treasures. He walked over and picked it up. It said O’Malley’s Golf Club. Hal studied it more. It had a simple design, some golf clubs together, but it was made of fancy black leather. Now who would leave a jacket so nice here? Maybe it’s Trystan’s? He was Irish right? O’Malley’s an Irish name. I better go drop this off with Carlo. So Hal made the somewhat death defying leap through the waterfall.
Trystan
Crap, crap, crap, crap. Aggie’s going to die. And what’s worse is that I can’t tell Ketina to save her because Aggie had the necklace on. The good thing is that Ketina knew that Aggie was in trouble and started making a nose dive that made my eyes water. But only one thing was on my mind: Save Agatha. So I jumped off of Ketina and into the icy water. I never knew that water could be so cold and not be frozen. I knew that I had better hurry or it’ll begin to seem like the Titanic movie where everyone freezes in the water. So I dove down. The water was really murky and I couldn’t find Aggie, who had already gone under. That’s when I saw her already pale hand sinking deeper into the murk. I stretched my hand out, but she was still sinking, so I missed. I was beginning to panic. I couldn’t feel my body and my lungs were screaming for air. But I kept trying to reach her. That’s when I started to feel faint. I knew I couldn’t stop though. I stretched as far as I possibly could, and felt my hand enclose hers. I smiled in the water. Now I just had to get to the surface. But which way was that again? Left, right, up, or down; I couldn’t think straight. I decided to guess up. Thank the lords above that it was truly the right answer. I took in a huge breath of air as I broke the surface. We had both survived that ordeal, but now what? The good thing was that Ketina was just flying into the water. “Where have you been? We know you could’ve helped a lot.” I said to her. She merely shook her head, as if that wasn’t the case. “Never mind, Aggie’s unconscious.” I pushed her limp body up onto Ketina’s back. I tried to remember the lifeguard courses my dad made me go to. Once again, he said I would thank him later on. I find this just a little too ironic. I checked for a pulse. She was going really fast. I got really nervous. “She can’t die. She can’t die. She can’t die.” I kept repeating out loud. I started doing CPR. That was the first step wasn’t it? I sensed Izo was watching me. I yelled, “Can’t you help?” He simply kept looking. Was I crying or was that just the water dripping off of me? Then I remembered: Mouth-to-mouth resesitation. I didn’t think another second. I took a deep breath and pressed my lips to hers. I then continued the CPR. I repeated both steps: CPR, mouth-to-mouth, CPR, mouth-to-mouth. Nothing was working though. So I sat, defeated. Aggie was officially gone. No more insults or her smile or blue eyes. Just…gone. It was silent, as if even the ocean wanted to mourn. That was when she spat up some water and food. “Aggie?” She couldn’t be alive. But she continued to cough up water. When all the water was gone from her lungs she lay back down and said, “Do we still have the necklace?” I looked around her neck. It was amazingly, still around her neck. “I thought you were dead?” “I thought the same thing, “She coughed, “Uh, my throat hurts so badly. And it’s so cold.” She shivered as she said this. I quickly unpacked a sleeping bag and covered her with it. “Aren’t you cold?” Her voice was a quiet whisper. “I think I’ll live. I wasn’t the one who was just dead.” “Right. So how did you save me? Mouth-to-mouth I’m guessing?” “It didn’t mean anything though. I, I mean we were desperate. How could we save the dragon race without you?” She laughed, followed by a groan. “I ache everywhere. But we should keep going.” “No. You should sleep. We’ll be fine.” I said. “Thanks.” With that, Aggie fell asleep. Shortly after her, I did. |

Agatha
Have you ever been so cold that you thought your feet, hands, nose, and ears were going to fall of at any second? Multiply that feeling by ten and you’ll figure out how I feel right now. We’re flying to the northern tip of Greenland, you know the ice wasteland. Not only is Greenland cold, but we are a couple meters in the cold air. Ice was collecting on Ketina’s scales and my breath was turning to ice right in front of me. I also couldn’t tell whether or not Trystan had frozen to death because all I saw of him was a lump. I decided to ask Ketina where we were going. I thought we were going to see your friend? We are. She simply said. We didn’t know your friend was suicidal. I’ve never been so cold. After this, I’ll probably be able to stand in a blizzard in a bikini. That’s when Ketina laughed a dragon-like laugh. My friend isn’t suicidal; he’s just used to it. And his made for this weather, unlike you. I scowled. Can we just hurry up, because it’s probably warmer down there? Not long after that Ketina began a nose dive. I didn’t mean like this. I’m going to fall off. She laughed again, continuing her fast descent. You’re probably frozen to me; I don’t think you’ll fall off. We shortly landed, hearing some crunching underneath Ketina’s feet, (Which made me fear the ice would crack under her, and we would fall in freezing water.)But it was just the snow. We were, luckily, on real land, beside a simple cave. It wasn’t hidden well, which wasn’t needed here because only crazy people would come here. I guess we’re crazy. I started to wake Trystan up. My fear that he was dead still hit me. He was really cold, but then again so was I. Don’t fear, he’s fine. Just as cold as you. But he was smart enough to block himself from the wind. Ketina murmured in my mind. Trystan stirred, and the ice around him cracked. “Are we there?” He stretched and yawned. “Yeah, we’re there. Not that I’m much happier about it. It’s still cold.” Trystan smiled, “You’ll get used to it. My dad once sent me on a cruise around Greenland. He said I would thank him someday. Surprisingly, I think I’ll thank him when I get back home.” I laughed. So where is your friend, Ketina. He’s coming. You’re not going to miss him. The only way I could miss him is if my eyes will freeze, which was very possible right now. “Do you hear that?” Trystan asked. “What? I don’t hear anything.” “Shhh. It’s like a whistling.” Then we saw the white dot in the distance, flying at a very fast rate towards us. He looked to be a seagull until he got close enough to get his full size. That’s when I realized how tiny Ketina really was. This dragon was massive and pure white to match the snow. When he landed I saw that he had spikes on his belly that looked like tiny icicles. I thought they would soon melt against the sun, they were so realistic. He looked at the three of us with his pale eyes, and I suddenly felt Trystan grab my hand. I noticed he had gotten a lot more confidence since I found out his feelings. Uh oh, this dragon doesn’t know about us does he? I thought suddenly. That’s when he growled at us. I guessed he thought we were quite appetizing. Trystan held my hand tighter. I’ll take care of this. I heard Ketina say. She growled back at the dragon, which looked at her with questioning eyes. They looked at each other for a little longer, then I heard Ketina say, Put the necklace around both of your necks. I believe you both want to hear this. I fumbled with the necklace, due to the fact I couldn’t feel my fingers, but I eventually got it around Trystan’s neck as well. This time it was even more awkward, because I could only imagine what he was thinking. So, this is Izo. He’s an ice dragon, if you haven’t figured it out yet. I looked at the massive dragon, who crammed his neck down to look at us. His eye was right beside me, blinking questioningly. I slowly waved at him. He is planning on helping as much as possible, for he is one of the last ice dragons. I gaped. The last one? Ketina looked very sad. Yes. There might be one in north Russia, but otherwise yes. It is basically because of the lack of ice, but then that man also comes into play. Izo says he earlier saw a boat that somehow melted a quarter of all of the ice before running he sank it. Once again, I was surprised. He sank a ship?! Really Aggie, it isn’t that hard. Just take a claw and slash it through the side. It sinks like a rock. That’s when Trystan finally spoke. Why can’t we hear his thoughts? He pointed to Izo. I was surprised, because I hadn’t noticed that. The opal that is inside that ring is very rare. It’s only found here, on Greenland. Thankfully humans are too scared to come close to the cold, so the supply doesn’t go down much. Because they’re found here, in the north, all ice dragons are immune to it. I found that that made lots of sense. Ketina looked at Izo again, who nodded and flew off into the, or his cave. Shall we go where it’s warmer? Ketina asked. She knew my answer right away. We both got on and flew into the cave.
Hal
Hal was standing outside of a simple building. It was plain and it looked like it was meant for storage or something, except for the fact that there was a door that said Dragonology site 453. That was enough to make most people run away from these crazy people, but not Hal. He knew all about the dragon business. So he walked in. What he wanted most in the world was to get revenge on Fredrick. So he decided to join the good guys, or the people who don’t even know about dragons. Perhaps I could tell them everything about the dragons; that would make Fredrick mad. He was amazed to find everyone in a flurry, with a very purple-headed man yelling at everyone. He must the boss. “Uh, excuse me sir?” “What do you want? Can’t you see we are very busy?” He snapped. “I was just wondering if I could join you guys?” He immediately stopped what he was doing and looked at me. “Are you serious?” “Uh…yes.” The man brightened up and lost the purple color in his face and said, “Well, welcome aboard…uh…” “Hal.” “Hal. I’m Carlo. It may not seem like it right now, but we are very glad that you could join us. We’ve just had two our best people go missing. Some guy just called and said that he has them, but we can’t be certain.” Hal knew who he was talking about. “You mean Fredrick?” “Fredrick…hmmm…it could be possible. But we tracked the message to Aggie’s phone, which she keeps at all times.” Hal realized who this must have been. She must be the girl that shot me in the hand. He involuntarily looked down at his prosthesis and flexed it. Hal has learned how to use it for almost everything. Carlo noticed and said, “I see you have a fake arm there, what happened? Then again this isn’t the time to ask…” But Hal answered anyway, “Apparently your Aggie person was the one who shot me in the hand, causing me to lose it.” Carlo looked down, as if he was disappointed. “I’m sorry about that. What made her do that? And when did you ever see her? And how do you know who called us?” This is what Hal was dreading, all of the questions he would have to answer.
Agatha
Who ever knew a cave could be so comfortable? Especially an ice one. I immdialety set out my sleeping bag and fell asleep. Before I went into deep sleep though, I heard Ketina and Izo. Every now and then I heard a snort or growl coming form one of them, but nothing more. I soon went out. It felt like I was never asleep. I was riding, no flying behind Ketina. I obviously figured out it was a dream after that. There was someone riding on Ketina but he never looked back towards me. All I remembered was the reddish-brown hair flying in the wind. I was awakened by Ketina politely bumping me with her nose, the strange dream still fresh in my mind. Poor Trystan wasn’t so lucky. Gruff Izo simply growled in his ear. Why do we have to wake so early? We’ve come to a decision on what we’re going to do. And what is that? Trystan came stumbling towards us. He’s been taken the lack of sleep hard. Put the necklace around him too. Maybe he’ll wake up more when he hears what’s going on. I quickly got it around his neck. Alright, we planned, after much arguing, that we are going to see the great one. We both looked at her with confusing. Izo laughed at us. Stop it. It isn’t their fault they don’t know better. Ketina scolded him. Anyway, the great one is like our president or our king. He is the oldest of all of the dragons still alive today. I looked at her with some anger. And where does this “great one” of yours live? I have a feeling not in Greenland. Maybe somewhere warm, like the Caribbean. “Now where would you ever see dragons in Jamaica Aggie?” Trystan asked aloud. Ketina ignored him. The great one lives in China. The good news is that the Chinese worship dragons so he is perfectly safe there. Doesn’t anyone know about him? Few. Most are monks sworn to silence. Ketina then looked at Izo and humanly shook her head. He thinks you guys should ride on his back. He thinks you’d be safer there. I didn’t think that was the best idea. So you best start packing up all your things and get ready for the trip to China. We spent the rest of the day preparing for our second trip. Trystan tried to make small talk by asking, “Have you ever been to China?” “No, but I’m sure you did. You seem to have gone everywhere.” “I did. I didn’t like the cities as much as the farmlands. They’re much more serene and smell a whole lot better.” “Did you see the Wall of China?” “Yeah and it isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be. Just some bricks put together.” I laughed to myself at his comment. We slowly attached everything as well as we could to Ketina’s back and hoisted ourselves up on her back. We watched as Izo made a huge leap into the air, adding a couple nose dives and flips. I felt my stomach lurch by watching. Aren’t you glad you’re riding on my back instead? She laughed. And then we were off into the air. The ride was quite peaceful. Once we were out of the region of Greenland, it got to be much warmer. I actually was able to fall asleep. I thought about asking Trystan if he wanted to play I Spy, but that was ruled out soon because there was nothing around. That was when Trystan asked, “So you know about my family, what about yours?” I looked at him but looked out into the ocean straight away. “My family’s dead.” I simply said. I hated to talk about my family. “Wow. I’m sorry about that. Your whole entire family?” Trystan wanted to hear more, I could tell. “Yep. Every single one of them.” “That must be hard. How’d happen.” I whipped my head around and snapped, “It just happened alright. They’re all dead and that is final. You don’t need to know anything else.” I turned around. Trystan scooted next to me and held my hand for comfort and for once, I didn’t mind. We were halfway through the flight when I realized how edgy Ketina was. What’s wrong? Izo senses something in the distance. We’re not sure what it is yet. She quickly looked to the left and right. We must be on full alert. I thought of how a dragon could possibly worry. Sure, Ketina was small, but not as small as a goose or some other bird. And if it was a plane they would know that. So what would it be? Oh no, just what I was dreading. I crawled to look in Ketina’s large amber eye and asked, What? Look. There is cloud cover straight in the direction we want to go in. If something is going to attack us, it’ll be in there. Can’t we just go around? No, it goes on too long. It would just waste time. Just be very careful. I woke Trystan up to tell him what was going on. We didn’t need something to swoop down and take him away. So I sat and stared into the vast clouds that were going past. We soon were all wet, with Ketina and Izo shimmering. I saw one cloud that was darker than the others and bigger too. When I realized it was speeding towards us, I was too late. Luckily though, Ketina read my mid and figured it out. She quick did a barrel roll to avoid the black cloud and next thing I knew, I was falling out of the clouds and into the cold ocean below. I fell in with a great splash. When I swam up for air only one thought came to my mind. I can’t swim. |

Hal
Hal was sitting in the small hotel room that he just rented. The hotel was called Casa de England. How stupid is that? Hal thought. But he didn’t have time to find a five-star hotel. He was busy trying to figure out a plan to get back at Fredrick. Maybe I could sneak into his house and steal his taxidermies dragon?? Maybe I could push him down his elevator? Maybe…Maybe…Maybe…All of his ideas started with maybes. He tried writing some down on paper, only to fill his room with crumpled pieces of paper. Towards the late hours of the night, Hal gave up and fell asleep on the creaky bed. Hal woke with a start to find the maid cleaning his mess. “What are ya’ some kind of writin’ junky?” She said while chewing a big wad of gum, “Weirder an’ weirder people are stayin’ in dis hotel.” She cracked the gum loudly. Hal rubbed his forehead, realizing that he still had no idea what to do. He eyed his cell phone. Maybe he called and apologized for what he did. Maybe he’ll realize how much he needs me. He got up and checked the cell phone. No messages. Hal guessed that that would be the outcome. The rest of his day was spent buying food from room service (which wasn’t all that roomy) and watching soap operas. It was when Forever Dusk was over when Hal began to wonder, maybe those kids are alive. It seems to be impossible, but considering the fact that Fredrick was making such a big deal out of them they have to be alive. But how…how?
Agatha
I awoke to find myself in a sea of gold and rainbow. I thought that everything that happened yesterday was just a dream. No, everything that has happened in the past week was all just a dream. That is until I heard a voice saying, did you have a wonderful sleep? Ketina was looking at me with a look of question on her face. The best I could have on a cave floor. But it looks like Trystan had a better one. We both looked at Trystan, who was snoring quietly holding a golden goblet in his hands. Hehe. Watch this. Ketina went as quietly as a dragon could towards Trystan. When she felt that she was close enough, she let out a deafening roar. Trystan jumped about five feet into the air. “Whaaaaa!!!” Trystan yelled in shock. I laughed while covering my ears to protect them from the nearly earsplitting sound. “Oh yeah, you guys can have so much fun with me, considering I don’t wake up at dawn.” He said sarcastically. I see he isn’t a happy one in the morn. Ketina said. Yes, but it probably didn’t help that we woke him up like that. I answered. “Ehem, so why did I get the rude wakeup call?” Trystan impatiently asked. He was pouting like a child. “Well, because it was funny. I mean, you should have seen yourself. You were…” I stopped because Trystan was glaring at me. Am I allowed to speak? Ketina nervously asked. We knew she could feel the negative energy flowing throughout the cave. Yes, but what were we woken up for? Well, it’s about time you asked. We need to leave, immediatly. She put an emphasis on immediatly. “But why?” I said aloud, “We’ve just learned about how we need to help, and now we have to leave immediately.” “Maybe it’s a good thing Aggie.” Trystan said. And Trystan is right. The food near here is very low, because of that horrid man. But I also think we could get help from a close friend of mine. I quickly repeated what Ketina said to Trystan. You guys know that if you both wear the necklace, all three of us can talk. I looked at Ketina. Well, that saves a lot more time. Trystan grabbed the necklace and also got it around his neck. It was a tight squeeze and we were awkwardly close, but it did help a lot. I never knew dragons could have friends. Trystan said. Of course we do. We don’t live in caves alone in solitude. Sometimes we form packs, but those are usually made up of family members. Can we move on? I didn’t feel like learning about what Trystan know and doesn’t know. Yes of course. Even though I want to leave as soon and as fast as possible, we need to get you guys some supplies. What kind of supplies? Trystan asked. Warm clothes, like big jackets, sleeping bags, not to mention food and among other things. Ketina listed all of the items. “Well, I guess we’re going shopping.” Trystan said as he wove the necklace over his head. “It kind of makes me feel normal. “I exclaimed. “Aggie, we are far from normal from now on.”
Trystan
Well, I can think of two words that describe what’s going on right now. Shopping Spree!! That was very weird of me. Ehem, so we were getting ready to go shopping when I noticed something. “Hey, how are we going to get from this cave; it’s in the middle of a waterfall. And don’t you think people would find it just a tad bit weird to see two people flying on the back of a dragon to Wal-Mart?” “Well Trystan considering the fact that both Ketina and I have the brains to have figured that out about a half an hour ago, we already came up with a plan.” “How was I supposed to know? You both talk in your heads, I feel completely out of it. Maybe we should take turns with the ring.” “Trystan,” Aggie began rubbing her temples in frustration, “Ketina is going to fly us to the nearest road, and then we’ll walk until we find a taxi. We shop, then come back and leave. And we don’t have time to create a stupid schedule for the ring.” “Just because you’re smarter doesn’t mean you can be the only one to talk to her.” “Now you sound like a three-year old.” “At least I’d be a three year old who would share.” “RRRRROOOOAAAARRRR!!!” Ketina roared. I was guessing she wanted us to stop. Stop bickering like toddler siblings over a deer. “Ketina’s right. We don’t have time for this. We should get going.” Aggie murmured. “Well, where should we go first?” “I guess a grocery store.” We both climbed on top of Ketina and held on tight. All I was thinking was I hoping this isn’t like last time. So here we both are flying on the back of a dragon. How much more crazy are we going to get? Well apparently a lot more because of the fact that we’re going to meet another dragon. We landed on the outskirts of town. “Well be back soon Ketina.” Aggie said as she slide down Ketina’s scaly side. How could she already be growing attached to her? We eventually caught a taxi and rode to the nearest grocery store in silence, which was unusual. I wonder what is making Aggie so quiet. I guess I’ll ask her later, when a taxi driver can’t listen to us, especially if it involves Ketina. We paid the driver and then got out on the street as he pulled away. It wasn’t until we were in the fruit section that I asked, “So…why are you so quiet today? Did it involve us fighting?” Aggie continued studying the fruit as she said, “No. Hmm, I don’t think we can take fruit where we’re going.” She walked towards the veggies. I quickly followed and asked, “Well, then what is it?” “Do I have to tell you?” Man, something was really bugging her. She would’ve told me by now. But then she sighed and smiled; “Besides I think you’re smart enough to figure it out.” She walked away, leaving me standing by the carrots confused. We didn’t talk about it until we got to the cash register. Aggie was fidgeting and it appeared like she wanted to tell me. “You still haven't figured it out yet have you?” I shook my head. She laughed and we gathered the packages. She then said, “Don’t you ever listen to Ketina?” “No.” She was discouraged by my answer, but at least she was talking again. “Well,” she began, “I’ll remind you something that she told us. You really should watch what you think.” With that, Aggie flagged down a taxi and told him to go to a camping place.
Agatha
When Ketina told me of what she found when she dug in Trystan’s mind, I couldn’t help but blush. I thought we were friends. Besides, I thought that was all we could be. So now I broke it to him that I knew he loved me, or at least found me attractive. So the ride to Camp Shop I felt lots of awkwardness between us. Well, of course there was. Did he really think I felt the same way about him? Maybe I should’ve never bribed this out of Ketina. Maybe she could keep these things in her head away from us. I decided to break the ice by saying, “What size coat will you need?” Trystan slowly turned to face me. He was probably afraid of what I thought about what he thought about me. When he saw I wasn’t mad he said, “Adult large, I like having big coats.” It was quiet again. Then Trystan spoke, “Aren’t you mad?” “Me? I’m surprised you aren’t mad at me?” “For what? I was being…well stupid, and Ketina heard about it.” “Yeah but I got it out of her. If I didn’t bribe her then neither of us would know about it.” “Still, aren’t you mad?” I sighed. I tried to think what I was feeling. I wasn’t mad, I knew that. “Well, I was thinking we were just friends. I never knew you felt that way.” He laughed, “Who couldn’t feel that way around you? I’m surprised your boss Carlo wasn’t with you or anything. Didn’t anything ever happen in college?” “In the beginning. Then when everyone found out I was into dragons, they were no longer into me.” Trystan found that surprising. The car stopped and we paid and bought everything else in Camp Shop. We rode the taxi as far into the forest and met Ketina in a clearing. I’m guessing you told him. She said. Yeah, but I think we took care of it. Good because we have no more time. We have to go now! The man is closer now than ever. Well let’s get moving then. I got on Ketina and Trystan passed all of our packages up. Once we were both securely in and the packages weren’t going to fall off, and flew off into the forest.
Fredrick
Fredrick stood in a clearing in a forest, looking for any trace of the two kids. What a sorrowful looking campsite. He kicked at pile of sticks meant for a fire. “Start looking men, and anything that looks either human or dragon, give it to me.” His henchmen started looking at the ground, in the trees, and even digging. We’ll be able to find any sign if they’re still alive. He laughed menacingly laughed at the idea of having another dragon in his grasp. And I’ll finish off those other two, useless as they are. He laughed again. That was when his laugh was interrupted by a cell phone ringing. He looked down at his feet to find a red flip phone. He picked it up and looked to see who was calling. It was a man named Carlo. He answered the phone and heard a man yelling, “Oh my God Agatha! Where have you been?!” We have almost the entire facility looking for you and Trystan! You need to get here now!” That’s when Fredrick finally said, “Oh I’m so sorry Carlo. It appears that we have captured your dear Agatha and Trystan. I’m sure you want them both back in one piece, but you need to do me a simple little favor. Can you do that?” Fredrick could tell that Carlo’s anger turned to fear. “Good. Now start singing to me what those kids were doing up here?”

Hal
Stupid ego-centric boss, Officer Hal thought. He’d just been fired by Fredrick and is now on his way to the emergency room. The hardest part is he has to come up with a fake story to back up why there was a hole in his hand. Hal walked into the hospital and pretended to be super upset. “Excuse me miss,” He asked the front desk lady, “I think I need to get to the emergency room immediately.” “You need to wait with everyone else sir.” “But, I have a hole in my hand.” Hal found this to be insane. What is wrong with hospitals nowadays? “Sir, we’re very busy today, please wait. AS long as it’s not life-threatening, we have no point into letting you skip the waiting line.” Hal quick came up with a lie. “Oh it is life-threatening because I’m a…an artist. If my hand isn’t healed soon, I’ll surely die without art in my life.” “You must be Derek Nutterberg. I’m a great fan of your work. Right this way Mr. Nutterberg.” The secretary led him to the emergency room. She quickly talked to a few doctors who led “Derek Nutterberg” to a room where they quickly started attempting to save poor Hal’s hand. “Mr. Nutterberg, I don’t think it’s possible to save this hand. There is too much damage,” The doctor eventually said, “But you shouldn’t worry because you’re ambidextrous.” “Where in the world did you read that? That is a total lie. I’m a righty, only a righty.” Hal found this statement quite ironic, because this was all a lie. “Oh, I never thought World Art would lie, but alright, we’ll give you a prosthesis.”
Agatha
I braced myself for the dragon to eat me. I was hoping it was telepathic and could hear me thinking, eat Trystan, he’s much more delicious. But nothing happened. I slowly opened my one eye. It was the dragon that we’ve been looking for. She was a brilliant emerald green that shone through all of the trees. Her eyes were big and topaz and looking intently at me. I suddenly heard Trystan say, “Unbelievable.” He was walking closer to the dragon. “I wonder if it talks.” “Trystan, stop it. Don’t get closer.” “Aw Aggie relax. If it wanted to eat us, it would’ve done it already. Now stop cowering.” “I’m not scared. I just think you’re being an idiot.” Suddenly the dragon picked both of them up with her teeth. “I told you she would eat us.” “Aggie, I need to tell you something considering we’re going to die.” But the dragon didn’t eat us. Instead she put us on her back, as if she wanted to take us somewhere. We both held on tight a prepared for the adventure of our life. “So, Trystan, what was that you wanted to tell me?”
Hal
The prosthesis fit quite well, the only problem was that now Hal had to get used to it. He was planning on immediately going to Freidrich and telling him that he won’t get anywhere with his stupid plan without Hal. But now he has to wait for almost forever until he could live a normal life. He also had to keep coming to the hospital of idiots for check-ups as Derek Nutterberg. But nothing was going to stop him from his plan. In fact, Hal was walking up to Freidrich’s mansion again. He rung the bell and heard Freidrich’s stuck-up butler answer, “Who is this?” “It’s Hal.” The door opened. “Right this way Hal.” They walked by Freidrich’s prized stuffed baby dragon. They soon made it to the lab, where Freidrich himself was sitting looking at his radar. He must still believe those stupid kids were still alive. “I would’ve never thought you would show your face here again Hal.” “I thought you would give me a second chance. After all, I’m your best officer.” “You don’t have a right hand. You are no use to me.” “I got a prothesis.” Hal raised his right arm to show his new hand. “Prothesis or not, you failed to bring those people back, therefore you failed yourself. You feel horrible right now, and I’m not going to take you back. Once you’re fired, you’re fired. No second chances. Now be off.” Hal couldn’t believe this. He did leave, but not before he kicked down what used to be his gun.
Trystan
“Where do you think it’s taking us?” “First of all, it’s a she. Second, your guess is as good as mine.” Aggie answered. We’re flying on the back of dragon, isn’t that amazing. I’ll have some story to tell my parents. That is they would believe me. Soon I started seeing things that were familiar. Where our camp was before, the now abandoned car, the river, and then the cave. It seemed as if nothing had changed. We kept flying until we were right by the waterfall. She flew right through the waterfall into a cave. I thought those were only in movies. She quickly landed and we got off of her back. She then walked into a different section of the cave. “What do you think she’s doing?” “Once again, I don’t know. Why do you think I know?” “Because you have studied dragons. Shouldn’t you know these things?” “Reading about them and being within a couple feet of one is not the same thing.” “Whatever.” The dragon shortly came back with a chain in its teeth. She came right up to Aggie and dropped the thing at her feet. Aggie picked it up. “So what is it?” “It’s a ring.” It was a simple ring, with a simple opal on it. The ring was on a chain, meant to put around someone’s neck. We both looked at the dragon. She nodded her head, as if she knew what we were thinking. Aggie put it around her neck. “Holy crap!” “What? What is it?” “She’s…she’s” Aggie was amazed. “What is she doing?” “She’s talking to me.” “How is she doing that?” “Telepathically.” Big word coming from Aggie. I stared at her for a bit. She rolled her eyes, sighed, and said, “It means that you can read ones mind, and talk through the mind too.” “Why didn’t she do that before?” “I think it has something to do with the ring. Here you try it on.” Aggie took it off and put it around my neck. I looked at the dragon and asked, “Don’t you have something a bit more manly?” Shut up! Your priorities are not very straight. The voice came from nowhere. “Where’s that voice coming from?” “Uh, her, the dragon,” Aggie pointed to her, “Ask her something in your head.” What’s your name? I asked in my head. It was weird, not saying anything, and expecting an answer. My name is Ketina. And yours is? Trystan. Means the act of making a noisy disturbance. Its Welsh right? I cringed. I found much displeasure in my name. “What did she say?” Aggie asked. She was amused by the fact that I cringed from something the dragon, Ketina, said. What is the female’s name? Ketina telepathically asked. Agatha, but I call her Aggie. Ah, a much better name. It means good. Why did you take us here? I need to talk to you. You two can help us. I’m guessing though that I should talk to Agatha? Well, she knows more about this dragon business than I do, so sure.
Agatha
I grabbed the ring from Trystan. Apparently the dragon, named Ketina, wants our help. It was a brilliant idea to for her to talk to me instead of Trystan. So, why do you need us? I asked her. Horrible things have happened to our kind throughout the years. You humans have put us on the brink. Pollution, overpopulation everything has caused us to be close to extinction. There is one man though, who is making it all the more tougher to survive. You know not his name, but he is planning on killing the rest of us and then selling our bodies to museums, making him a very rich man. “I have just one guess who that is.” I said out-loud. “Who? Wait what are you talking about?” Trystan was very clueless. “This man must be the leader of those guys who tried to kill us twice and poisoned the river.” That’s correct. I tried to catch this man in his unruly acts, but I almost starved to death, because he killed all of the wildlife nearby. That’s why it was always so quiet in the forest. Yes. So will you help me and the rest of my kind? I don’t know why but it was hard for me to decide. “Trystan?” “What? I don’t know what I’m agreeing to.” I quickly filled him in about our discussion inside our heads. “Why wouldn’t you want to help? My life has been very boring so I’m taking this insane chance and helping.” “Alright I’ll help too.” “Yes!! This will be great. Just you, me…and a dragon. And we’re saving the world!! Huzzah!!” “Yeah well, it isn’t all that interesting is it?” He seems to get excited over simple things. I heard Ketina say. Yeah, I know. I should warn you two. Even when you’re not wearing the necklace, I can still read your minds. “Hey Trystan!” I yelled. He was over looking at Ketina’s treasure trove. “Ask Ketina why she has all of this money.” “Dragons tend to collect shiny things, like diamonds,” I answered for him, “But you should watch what you’re thinking, because Ketina can hear you.” “…Oh.” |
