Title: Mville's EP Guide
Description: Build your Ep like a pro
mville0887 - July 17, 2009 03:43 PM (GMT)
Ok guys, I was bored today and decided to make an EP Building Guide. Currently Jagex is making it harder for people to do “Unskillful Tricking.” This used to be called 26k tricking, but recently they have moved it from 26k to 76k. “Tricking,” which is how I will be referring to it from now on was originated after Jagex removed the Old Wilderness system that players had adored for the better part of a decade of playing Runescape. Following the demise of the “old wild” Jagex created the “Bounty Hunter Crater” this crater was in the place of what is now called the “Wilderness Volcano” within these cave players could personally kill, or pk, each other. When a player successfully pk’ed someone they got all of the armor and inventory that the person was carrying. However, as time went by and the popularity of the old Bounty Hunter began to dwindle, the Real World Traders, or RWT, began to infiltrate the Bounty Hunter Crater. This led Jagex to develop a new Player Versus Player, or PVP, system that was just as good as Bounty Hunter, but allowed a computer to generate drops so that they could effectively crush the same RWT that killed the old wild. Their solution was PVP worlds; this was the birth of modern tricking. On the old system if a player wanted to “Earn Potential,” or EP, they had to be risking 25k on either a Member or Free to Play world. Every half hour the player would earn 25% EP from standing within a fire zone on a PVP world. After a player had accumulated some EP they would have a trusting friend carry 26k within their inventory with a skull. Then they would have 76k coins within their inventory and would kill their friend that had the 26k. The player who killed their friend would then typically earn loot that topped 100k, it must be noted that some drops from 26k tricking topped 20M. This is how they developed the name of 26kers, this process was repeated numerous times throughout the day earning the players Millions of gold pieces. During the second week of July 2009 Jagex finally decided to take a stand against the 26kers, they automatically skulled players entering PVP worlds, along with raising the gp needed to earn potential up to 75k. However, instead of being called 26kers a new age of tricking has emerged… The 76k tricker! So tell Jagex GF and enjoy the loot guys!
Ok for the majority of this guide I will be telling you of places to go to build your EP. First of all this is my preferred EP building gear:

Black Dragonhide Body
Black Dragonhide Legs
Black Dragonhide Vambraces
Book of Wisdom (Guthix Book from Horror from the Deep Quest)
Dragon Dagger P++
Prefered Inventory:

50 Air Runes
50 Water Runes
50 Earth Runes
50 Fire Runes
50 Law Runes
50 Chaos Runes
50 Death Runes
1 Super Strength Potion (4)
1 Super Defence Potion (4)
1 Super Attack Potion (4)
1 Super AntiPoison Potion (4)
20K Gold
16 Sharks
With this inventory you should be risking enough wealth to build EP, while being protected enough to fend off any people who come and try to pk you. With this inventory you need to run to one of the following areas that are fire zones that are effective at building EP. Typically any area, that is a fire zone that has buildings with ladders are good EP building locations.

On July 16th Mod Benny gave away to the Runscape community a critical piece of information that will greatly help Ep’ers get very valuable items, and learn how the system works. I don’t want to paraphrase so I will give you the exact line from Mod Benny
“A bigger issue than people not daring to risk their dragon claws and godswords is the abyssal whip. This is a fairly powerful weapon as far as damage over time goes, but lacks the massive hits of more expensive items. However, it is still expensive enough to make some PKers afraid of risking them under the new system. To these people, I would like to repeat something that is briefly mentioned on the Knowledge Base page, which we simply refer to as the ‘death pot.’ When you die, part of the wealth you have lost beyond the initial 75k (or 25k on a free-to-play world) is added to a separate pot which is used along with your earning potential to generate drops. So if you do risk a whip and lose it, a big part of its value will be saved away for your future drops. In the long run, assuming you get some kills, you will therefore be making this value back. However, it is worth pointing out that the amount of lost wealth that can be transferred to the death pot at any one time is capped, so losing a massive stack of junk items or a godsword would not generate as big of a percentage back into the death pot as less valuable items would, and noted items don’t add anything at all. I don’t want to give out any exact numbers, but I can at least confirm that a whip will be quite heavily compensated for (although obviously not by its full value!).”
This critical bit of information, confirmed a theory I had previously thought about and led me to develop a new way of tricking. My new method is called “Rune Set Tricking” though it can be incorporated with any kind of armor. As Mod Benny Stated anything above the 75k required goes in a pot so to say. The larger this number is the more money you will receive from your next trick, (just not as valuable as the loot lost). When tricking from 100% Ep you lose roughly 30% EP per kill of your friend. Each 30% is worth approximately 300k, though when “Rune Set Tricking” with 100% you will frequently get 1.5M drops.
So by Runeset Tricking with a very trustworthy friend if a player had 100% EP and killed their friend 3 Times in a row that player would roughly gain 210k “Death Pot” GP. So doing this back and forth obliterating each other’s 100% EP would result in you gaining immense amounts of GP. Though I have already found out that “RuneSet” Tricking is best done with 3 players. If you alternate friends per kill you will receive more valuable loot. Which has led me to believe there is a system that they have hidden that keeps track of who the last person you have killed was, and thus lowers your loot if you kill that person so many times within a given series. So with three people tricking you can maximize the loot you receive from 100% EP.
So now everyone reading this is freaking out asking how exactly do you “Runeset Trick,” it’s actually as easy as it sounds, go to the Grand Exchange buy a few Rune Sets then have your friend pk you with that set rather than 76k gp. I can guarantee you the loot you get from Runeset are far better than the gp is.
*At this point I would like to say I in no way searched, or deciphered Runescapes Game Code, it is against their Rules to do so. This is all observations that I have made and being a programmer myself I can easily see how they would program these happenings.*IT IS ALSO THE DUTY OF ALL OF OUR FORUMS MODERATORS TO DELETE ALL NEEDELSS POSTS FROM THIS TOPIC ALL QUESTIONS ARE PERMITTED BUT DO NOT POST USELESS POSTS… USAGE OF THIS GUIDE OTHER THAN ON ELITE HUNTERS CLAN SITE FORUMS IS PROHIBITTED

irishboy9780 - July 17, 2009 04:15 PM (GMT)
eh might be a good idea but i wouldnt stake it as jagex has pointed out that dieng and losing items is a very effective way of getting good ep. but who knows looks like a good idea might even be better then 76king.
mville0887 - July 17, 2009 04:40 PM (GMT)
Read Mod Bennys quote it will tell you exactly how it works Irish

Wonderful guide! I loved reading it, and plan on using it too. I strongly suggest that you DO NOT publish this on a fansite or anywhere else though (even though others may already be using methods similar to this). The reason certain things like 26k-tricking get removed is because too many people know about them and use them too much. This has to be kept to only a small amount of people, otherwise Jagex WILL find out and find a way to keep us from doing it. But anyways, awesome guide! Thanks for posting it!

To the best of my knowledge this is only site with anything like this...
And yes i did come up with it all by myself =D
irishboy9780 - July 18, 2009 12:51 AM (GMT)
one question tho i might try it but do you need 100% ep for it to work?
mville0887 - July 18, 2009 02:43 AM (GMT)
Thats actually a good question, during the wee hours of the morning when just a handfull of people are on, I was doing my tests to see if I could break the system. The drop system at times is completely random. It seems to favor people losing items compared to coins, which is why I will never use coins to trick ever again. At 0% ep i got a Dragon Square Shield Tricking off of Adley, which at the time was a 300k drop from 26k coins. Zero percent tricking with rune however will only give back slightly more than the cost of rune (Roughly 200k drops).
I was averaging 500k drops from 50% ep tricking with rune sets. As of yet I have not recieved a drop of less than 800k from 100% ep. And the 800k was from coins compared to a runeset. So to make a long explination short, if you want to make the Mills I would stick with getting 100% ep since it only takes 2 Hours to get 100%. Which averages 250k an hour, though once you get 100% you can easily make 2M+ an hour since from 100% EP you only drop to 70% Ep per kill.

Ummmmm Mville are you sure you were the ONLY one that came up with this?? (I was the one who helped u figure out if it worked)
mville0887 - July 18, 2009 10:25 AM (GMT)
Yes did, Adley and you helped geatly, but the idea was mine. Though I will have to admit that fairydust helped me the most. She was my guinea pig through the trial and error sessios at 4:30 in the morning.
But I never really claimed that I was the sole person who created this method, just that I was the only person who authored this guide. Which is why I cannot copyright this with the copyright office because this is a FACT and you cannont copyright facts. Only the way the facts are presented are allowed to be copyrighted. Images however can be copyrighted easily.
But back to your statement Thank you Fairydust, Adley, Grumpy, and Torbere for your help in testing this =D

Mville nice guide
ur like an rs legend
great way to make $$ for lazy people :) ( thats y i liked it :P )
Torbere - July 20, 2009 05:17 PM (GMT)
hmm this is all kinda complicated...so basicly the more u lose in items..the more loot u can get in next kill..even more with 100%ep..thats wut i think i understand lol...but does victim needs 76k gp....or 76k in stuff in order for it to work better?
Crystal11100 - July 20, 2009 10:09 PM (GMT)
Another technique is to carry all your expensive items from your bank, and all your cash into pvp....no teles!
Now just wait at the g.e. and watch what happens! You will be surprised at your net profit!
Torbere - July 20, 2009 11:54 PM (GMT)
tut tut tut cry...a hc member doing a useless post..what an example u r to us regular members:P
mville0887 - July 21, 2009 09:15 AM (GMT)
Torb Death Pot and EP are not taken into account on a drop if the player you kileld wasn't risking 76k. THis is why when you kill someone wearing no armour and 1 iteming you will get salmon drops. But yes more you lose in ep, the better your drops will be in following pks. Only that first immediate drop will be extremely high, YOU WILL NOT RECOUP LOST GP IN 1 KILL it takes numerous kills to regain that gp but overall the more money you have lost in pvp the higher rewards you will get.
Torbere - July 28, 2009 01:59 AM (GMT)
ohh i get it now lolz, thnx mville :D

Adley23 - February 16, 2010 09:02 PM (GMT)
Look at the date it was made
This was made before the 76k update, so it worked back then but not now :S
soccer4555 - February 16, 2010 09:11 PM (GMT)
how do you 76k trick now? how did they possibly fix this? :P
