Why has the floaty "Breaking News" banner been edited? The last time I paid any attention to it, it was announcing that Omphalos had made the 36,000th post here. Until now those have been left stand until the next milestone. How is three asterisks more informative?

Then I was correct in assuming that the deletion had something to with all the "kettle-internal drama" around here over the last day or so.

That's too bad, since the two things are completely unrelated IMHO.

But whatever. :/
