I thought about starting this when I was wondering two things (below), and decided to make a game of it. You state two fairly equal things, each with it's own pros and cons, and ask which one people would prefer.

Here's an example. I've asked alot of people this, and I decided, "Why not just ask thems peeps at the forum?" So here it are:

1- Would you prefer to be a mentat, or face dancer?

2- Would you want to have Ixian technology, or Tleilaxu?

And one I just made up now which isn't Dune related:

2.X- Would you rather live in a city, or on a farm?

Mentant, having a perfect memory woudl be more important to me than changing my appearance.

Ixian tech, I am biased against the Tleilaxu because of Frank Herbert's description of them, pasty faced gnomes!

I would love to live on a farm, a farm for me means independance where as city life while more alluring is for me a life of dependancy on others.

You know what? I probably should've wrote my answers with that first post. First though, I asked Ixian or Tleilaxu technology. Not nessecarily whether you want to be Ixian or Tleilaxu.

I'd prefer Mentat, I value inteligence over most things, and if I could be anything, it would be Mentat.

I'd also prefer Ixian. I'm not one for genetic modification and artificial life. It's against my concious.

And lastly, I choose city. I live on an acreage, and I only see my friends either at school, or, in the case of friends not at my school (which are my best friends), once every two weeks. Unfortunately, I can't move to the city if I get the chance because I absolutely love the school I'm in.

I would prefer to be a Mentat.

I would also prefer to live in a city because I don't drive-I don't even have a Driver's License-and am dependent upon buses. Those are always to be found in cities...

Ixian. I need transportation while I'm playing around as a facedancer.

City! I must have my Slurpees I must have my Slurpees I must have my Slurpees....

1. Mentat- Intellegance is more important

2. Tleilaxu- I want to speak the "Language of God", that and I'd need it for my Nypth clone-army. :tongue:

3. Farm- Fewer people, more place for doggies. That's it. :love:

1. Can I be one of the latest advanced face dancers? Then I can just absorb the persona of a mentat. Mentats appeal to my intellect but the possibilities for mischief as a face dancer are just too appealing.

2. Language of God. Who needs machines when you have an unlimited supply of slave labor?

3. Farm, when you have slaves you need lots of room. It would be nice to be able to travel to the city without too much trouble though.

Without a doubt a FD. Who wants to be smart when you can be pretty? ;) Or when you can be anyone for that matter.

I would rather have Ixian tech, you cant fly around in a person (at least if you can I don't want to) and machines aren't as needy as biologicals.

City or farm? City for me please. I can't think about country life without the movie Deliverence coming to mind. :|

But you can create unough slaves to build you a factory that makes cars or planes.

We are talking highly advanced spacecraft and such, not cars and planes. If you don't posses the knowledge to build such things then you can't teach the slaves to build them :p

We'll give them tools and some time and by trial and error they'll find the way. With billions of slaves working together we'll have those things built in no-time! :big_grin:

You people seem to forget another bebefit of being a FD(or maybe I'm the only crazy one who sees it)- FD can change their sex at will, not to mention they can shape those bodies as they wish...ooh, kinky! :big_grin:

Definately a face dancer. Just think of all the crap you could get away with...then there's always orald's suggestion that you can change sex at will. Knowing as a hot chick what I know as a man? I could rule the world.

Ixian tech...I figure if I'm an FD thats enough bio-tech for me.

City. Farms are boring and as a face dancer just how much fun could I have out on some remote farm?

Go Tleilaxu all the way for every reason stated so far. Also I would like to live on the farm and if possible even just out in the wild. I love going into the forest with either a rifle or a composite hunter bow and just taking down a dear. Last time I went camping we got a huge dear right in the neck we grilled him up and seasoned him with ketchup and salt. It tasted delicious I just love sitting their in the tranquility of nature reading a good book then notching an arrow and takin down a deer.

Ecspecially if you cook them up right ove a fire. I usually end up with too much ketchup or salt on mine but the meat tastes delicious. look at it lke this :life-cycle:

Mentats follow statistics and reasons Bene Tleilaxu is not as a formidden as Ixian technology by the Great Convention and a City becuase of the urban life and money I could get for freelancing as a Mentat B)
