One of my biggest hobbies is working on my car, and I know those skills go hand in hand with robotic combat. So, here's a thread where everyone can share their own pieces of automotive creativity. Whether you like american muscle or import hustle, slammin' trucks to the ground or jacking them to the sky, 8" LCD screens or 12" subs, share it all here. Pics are appreciated, especially if you can take them throughout the modification process.

Nothing fancy and I don't do any modifications. I might do that later, though.

I'll have to take some new pictures of my car and post them. I mean, it's only a $14,000 8 year old Tracker, but I put alot of time into mods for it.

Right now, the main "tuning" I wanna do on my car is to re-attach the rearview mirror that the tree branch on that seasonal road took out.

My current project (and coincidentally also my daily driver) is my 2006 Pontiac GTO.

'93 geo tracker. covered in dents from, emm, "every day usage". modded with fuzzy dice off the mirror and a chrome skull shift knob. i also have atleast 1 wrapper on my passenger floor board from each fast-food joint within 10 miles of my house. oh, and a walmart gas cap since mine got stolen(yes, WTF???), and a stick on gel air freshener to cover up the smell of the gas from driving to walmart to get said gas cap. and thats about it.

i so need a new car.

Still have my PoS 95 Mustang.V6,walmart rims...its hot.However,I am planning on getting real rims in the future since I got a $8,000 refund from MU recently.Or maybe tuition...who knows.

Deer decided to jump in front of me. Hit him at ~30mph. Not sure how to airbag didn't go off, but thank god it didn't.

Got new grille, aluminium rims, and TSL Super Swampers. I have a 2" body lift to install, as soon as I get the correct brake line extensions. 2.5" suspension lift to come.


Q Logic Bandpass box with 2 10" Type-R subwoofers powered by Hifonics amp and db 15 farad capacitor. Each sub gets 600 watts continuous. System hit's 128.6 decibels.

Airbag sensors work based on inertia, not impact. A deer's body weight can't slow your car fast enough to activate them. Had you hit a wall or another car at that speed, your car would have slowed down (or stopped) much more rapidly. That causes gold balls inside the airbag sensors to backdrive springs that hold them in place, completing the detonator circuit to activate the airbag.

Ah, that makes sense. I heard about people hitting guardrails at 15 and setting air bags off; I guess that explains why it would deploy for a guardrail at 15, but not a deer at 30.
