Alpha Notes/News

Currently, we have a great plot. We'll start as soon as we get mates for both Myst and Derec. If you read it, you'd know why. Ugh, hurry up people, sign up..! We want to make this place more active, and plots do that most of the time. So sign up, you might have a chance of being one of the major parts in the plot.. But only two positions are open. Myst- Well, since we can't get a header up, we'll post the news down here for now. Currently we have a new plot, check it out. It's in the plots board, just so you know. Erm, Dreams' Clarity is in need of a few new members.. -pokes the only member- It is just Blaken and Myst.. Maybe some new users can post at the boarderlands? ^^;

Derec- Hmm... I'm a-likin' the new layout. I figured out how to get this up in the headers ^^ Oh, by the way, I made up that genius plot from within the depths of my own super-active and hyper mind. Err... well, I encourage new dogs to join Shimmering Sights, as we need members. POST AT THE BORDERS.

It is currently summer. It's 80 degrees out, so take a break and try to find as much shade as possible. Maybe a nice swim? Or just swarming under a nice tree with some friends. Just remember, stay cool, you don't want to get dehydrated.

Decker was almost exhausted now but he felt he was getting closer to the city all the smells here seemed to be new and it excited him with a strange mix of worry and adventure. His nose now constantly trailing along the ground as he found another scent that intrigued him, it was strangely familiar and yet he didnt know what it was the memory seemed to be lost in his mind along with a few other things his parents had taught him maybe it was of something he was supposed to avoid?

His tail had hung halfway to the ground until he had found this interesting smell now it flicked from side to side aloft in the air the grass brushed up against his tail fur and tickled him slightly as he followed the scent and then found another it wasn't as strong as the first but it was definately the same kind of smell.

Decker looked up suddenly feeling something watching him again, but he knew it couldn't be the same thing that he had felt at the shenandoah cascades this was a different feeling yet somehow similiar he ducked down in the grass feeling like he was wrong place again but this was the only other way towards the city that he had found and he needed to cross here, although he wasn't sure that the city was part of these packlands either he thought he better hide for now and hope whatever it was hadn't spotted him and his rusty chocolate brown tail winding its way through the tall summer grasses.

A light snarl was shed from Myst's half open jaws. Her creamy brown eyes had spotted out the familiar figure of a canine, but that wasn't what was upsetting her; The fact that the dog had not barked, stood up straight, or any of that other nonsence to try to get an alpha's attention. This bothered her more than anything; A spy on her territories. She never put up with it before, so she wouldn't put up with it now. She realized that whomever that was could mostlikely just be wandering and not know where he was... then again, her scent filled her territories, how could you miss it? This thought discusted her, she hated ignorant jerks that wandered onto a territory and thought that they could sneak up on a pack member or something along those lines?

She decided against taking a wild lunge at this new dog; After all, maybe he was just a pup.. Then again, what if it was an adult? All she knew is that from her position, she couldn't see a thing. She slowly padded threw the tall grasses and over to the figure, her tail and head held high. She let out a loud grunt once she was inback of this dog, signaling for him to turn around. Mostly all of her body parts were stiftened by now, giving her fragile frame a displeasing look. Her eyes were emmotionless, much differnet from their usual happy-go-lucky state. She parted her jaws to speak, "My my... Do we have a spy?" She asked sarcastically, "Now, you do know that these are my lands and not some battle field that you can crawl around it.. I want an explaination for you comming here and not calling to me." She said sternly, wanting to show that she ment business.

-Isn't Decker in more than one place?-

OoC | Decker is NOT at the cascades he left. I took him away from there before I even started this one... Although I do admit I could have made that clearer.

Decker's head turned quickly as she spoke, shortly followed by the rest of his body as he stood up and sidled away from her a little bit he frowned at her not really knowing how to explain himself. He knew a few words like fence, city, his own name and the word water but he found it very difficult to explain anything with these, he had since learned some other words in his travels and so he would try his best if it meant he could keep going through to the city.

His ears where flat hanging out to the sides as he stood nervously flicking his tail, he knew he was in trouble he could tell by the way she stood and by what she had said this was her place he understood that now, he also understood that if this place was hers he was tresspassing "Sorry... Decker needs City" he said he was trying to use the most the discriptive words he knew to explain to her that he hadn't meant to intrude but somehow he didn't think she would believe him.

Decker sat slumping his shoulders a bit hoping to show by the way he was sitting that he was lower and meant no harm to her or anyone nearby, he was still panting heavily his tongue lolling to the left side of his mouth as he waited to hear if she wanted to chase him away or whether she was going to let him try and explain himself more. He was aware he didn't exactly look like a puppy anymore and that she was more likely to bite him than let him explain but he remained passive trying not to let the panic take over.

The growl rumbled in her throat as she watched him turn around, her eyes narrowed into tiny slits. If he didn't have a decent explaination, then it say bye to this dog.. Might as well have siad he was never born. Myst growled, trying not to loose her temper and snap; She wanted to hear this dog's explaination, and she wanted it now. A loud swallowing sound could be heard, it was that discusting sound that Myst shed telling the other dog that she wasn't playing around, that she ment buisness and if they weren't wanting to get into her pack, or were a puppy and didn't know what ranks were yet, then they would be getting a one way ticket to hell.

She eased up as she heard how he was talking. It was somewhat obvious that this dog could surely not be fully grown, or was somewhat knew to this part of town. Maybe he didn't reconize certain scents yet.. Yeah, that was it, maybe he was too small to reconize the scent of a leader and her territory. She snarled once more and then sat down. "So you say you want the city? Hmm.. You knew 'round here?" She asked, her voice drown of all emmotions or happiness. If you truely didn't know her before now, you'd think she was some lifeless zombie that was just resurected from 20 long years of being dead.

Decker shifted uncomfortably it was true he wasn't from around here, but he found her change of attitude weird and unusual. He nodded in reply to her question, the city was really the only thing he knew he wanted Decker hadn't heard much about packs or leaders let alone how to find them or avoid them.

His left ear twitched a little as he fought with his fears about whether to run or not, turning his head to one side a bit made him feel like he was halfway there but he didn't want to offend Myst and so returned to how he had been. Decker was still breathing heavily, his eyes half closed as the sun continued to heat him up further than he already was but he didn't dare move incase Myst decided he was being ignorant.

"Sorry..." he repeated shaking his head lightly as a fly landed just under his eye, he knew his words weren't good thinking maybe he should tell her that he opened his eyes up again so that it didnt look like he was falling asleep on her. Surely she could tell though deciding maybe he should just let her decide what she wanted to know he bowed his head, a little wary of how close her teeth were to his neck now but he wanted to ask her something knowing she would think it foolish of him.

She grunted lightly, heaving a large puff of air in his direction. She didn't particuarly take a great likeing to this new creature, yet she had no real reason to hate him. After all, he did say he was sorry. Hopefully he was telling the truth, Dreams' Clarity did need more members, and maybe he'd be interested in joining up. Of course, she wouldn't be the first to ask. That just seemed rude and kind of odd; Think about it, an alphess asking someone to join their pack? All right, so it wasn't that weird, just Myst refused to do it.

She placed her paw on the ground in a rather quick movement, drawing up some dirt and other tiny pebbles into the air. She let out a light growl, yet refused to snap or bite. As he lowered his head in a bow, she pulled back, parting her jaws to speak. "Alright then, your appology has been accepted." She narrowed her eyes and stared coldly into his. Ears flicked back as if questioning him. Her tail flicked to one side of her rather muscular frame, yet instead of flicking back to the other side of her and making a complete tail wag it just stayed there. She awaited his answer.

Decker jumped a little as she put her paw down quickly, lifting his head just as fast he shot up to his feet backing up but he didnt move far after he heard her say his apology was accepted he stopped his eyes on her tail. He brought his gaze back to her face looking at her ears back like that, it scared him a little more so he turned his head again still looking at her which gave him a kind of questioning look as his silverish pink scar shone in the sunlight.

"Thank... Thank you" He answered it took him a little while to get the words out having never really used them before, it was usually just running with no time for thanks although he did like the sound of the words they had a pleasant ring to them. He thought now might be the time to ask her his question although he wasn't really sure how to say it he didn't want to upset her now, especially now considering he hadn't been snapped at yet.

"You different... " he said frowning a little as he tried to think of better of words that he knew "You different...decker" he added looking down at himself and then back at Myst, hoping she'd would understand what he was trying to ask her. "You other dog?" he asked finally wagging his tail half nervously half excitedly waiting for her answer, he had been looking for other dogs to try and teach him how he was supposed to be becase not knowing words everyone else seemed to be able to say quite clearly annoyed him. It made him sound stupid and he didn't want to sound stupid, or ignorant he just wanted to learn how to live on his own and maybe find friends on the way who could help him do that.

She let out a small growl as he spoke his first fragment; 'You different'. Her eyes narrowed in a threatening way, but when he had spoke the rest of it, she understood. She managed to give a light nod, now realizing that this dog had speach problems. She wasn't one to do explaining or anything around here, but oh well, maybe she'll have to. She rolled her eyes lightly, yet it was hardly noticable.

"Yes, I am different, and yes, I am I different dog." She nodded, "You're point is?" She asked, her head not tilting like it usually did as she was loosing some of her patience. She refused to totally lose it and snap, that would ruin her reputaion. Normally, she was a kind, sweet-hearted dog. Oviously that could change when she was agrivated or angered. She awaited to see what his next reply would be. Hopefully he'd ask to become part of her pack, otherwise he wasn't going to learn his speach skills from her, as she would only help a pack member. Not like she wouldn't help a dog in need, but this seemed to be a minor problem, and obviously he had gotten quite far with only speaking his name and a few other simple words.

She had understood him, he could have done a backflip if he had managed to save any of his energy from just trying to get this far. He barked happily instead wagging his tail quite freely now, he had found half of what he had been looking for and it wasn't far now to get the rest of what he had travelled this far to find.

"Decker looking..." He answered barely able to keep himself still long enough to answer and forgetting he still had a bit to go yet, he calmed himself down remembering he was only halfway Decker sat back down his tail still wagging and stirring up a little dust as it did so. "looking ...city, other dog, other home" he answered finishing what he had started to explain "looking long way" he added, he looked behind him towards the city then back at Myst unsure of whether he should finish his travels or leave part of it yet to be discovered.

He wished he knew more words to explain exactly what he had meant by tresspassing like this even though she had accepted his awkward apology, and even listened to his reasoning as hard as he knew it was to understand. She possibly even understood what he had meant by coming this far, but he wasn't sure he wanted to know what lie in the city just yet and even if he did get that far he could still use a friend.

His thin tail brushed roughly against his sides as it wagged slowly in the dirt underneath him, his frown had returned as he tried to think of a word to describe friend he was really trying hard knowing what he wanted to say was completely different to actually forming the words his head now hurt from all the thinking he was doing and he lay down heavily out of frustration.

"You... Decker..." he growled to himself still trying to think and form words at the same time out of the foggiest of thoughts in his head, it wasn't working very well and eventually he sat up again completely frustrated with himself. He snorted once at his front feet as he sat still frowning deeply, he looked at his tan coloured feet heavily covered in dirt they were but he didnt care.

He looked back up at Myst his blue eyes searching hers hoping that maybe she would have the word he was searching for, he couldn't find it though and so became just a little more frustrated with himself deciding he was going to try it anyway he straightened up a bit "You other dog... Decker dog, other home?" he muttered grunting at himself when he heard how that sounded his own feeble words echoing in his head.

Decker knew it was hard trying to learn new things but he really wanted to get new words, these words weren't working well at all and not knowing enough was getting frustrating when everyone else seemed to just be able to say what they were thinking. He had been trying to ask if he could stay with her well, maybe not the same place but he desperately needed to figure out how he was going to live in the city by himself with only these few words. Sure they had gotten him this far but he hadn't had to explain like this before usually when something else saw him they attacked first and asked questions later, or he ran before they could attack this was actually the first time he'd been snuck up on and questioned like this.

Myst tried her best to decipher what he was saying. This was painstakingly hard, as she was trying to add in some words that would make some sense with the few words he provided. In the end, it all came out to just a bunch of useless jibberish. That was annoying her greatly, she was almost ready to blow, yet she had alittle something called self-control, which she happened to be using at this particular moment. She sighed lightly, standing up.

"Look dog, I mean, Decker. I own a pack, got it? I need to manage things around here and it ain't easy. So please, just make you point before I go nuts and have to leave." She nodded, not trying to sound rude but it just came out that way. She rolled her eyes, figuring she'd have to ask in this situation. "Do you want to become part of my pack, or live the life of a loner?" She asked, not really knowing that the other pack fully excisted yet. She sat back down and scratched her left leg with her right paw. She sighed as she awaited an answer.

Decker knew this was frustrating, he could see she was just as frustrated as he was but he nodded solemly "Not loner..." he answered after a brief pause. It was getting annoying sitting in this sun also although he had now caught his breath and settled down a bit, he took another look over his shoulder at the city wondering if this would be the last time he would get this close to it. Somehow he doubted that idea, he didn't think that anything which lived out here could avoid the city for long.

He stood up ready to find some shade, hoping his answer had been good enough as he had a headache now from racking his brain so much to find proper words to use. Definately need new words, he thought to himself as he stood there waiting to see if she had anything else to say or if she needed more of an explanation.
