The game is set pretty tightly around the movie. Characters on the board are basically characters paralleling those of the movie. For example, Danny Castle parallels Johnny Castle, Abby Holland parallels Baby Houseman, etc. The board doesn't have to follow the exact events of the movie, but will just have a very similar likeness, ie. the Penny-parallel will get her heart broken by the Robbie-parallel, but she doesn't have to get pregnant... Those kinds of matters will be left up to whoever decides to play them. But just remember that the board is set in the present time, 2006, although due to the way Kellerman's has remained highly traditional, it may seem like we're still in 1963.
