Okay, guys, there's been talk of a website in the Cbox.
We have a lot to work out for it yet though... Primarily web space(yes, paying for it), content, like... everything. Seriously. Any idea is fine, any suggestion, any whatever. Give us SOMETHING. Feedback, encouragement, wtfever. You got it, bring it...
Digital Revolution is (possibly) gunna get a website!
DISCUSS!!!
I'll bring more to the table later, I must away for now.

Okay, firstly, I think it's a good idea.
DR is hard as fuck to find through Google because of the Invisionfree url, so our own webspace would make it much easier to find, even if it was through a website. Content-wise though, I have no idea. I mean, WtW has card scans and a really popular Digidex to draw people in, and I do like KoH's suggestion of some sort of user based project, but of what, I'm not exactly sure.
Personally I would love if DR got it's own domain before a website, because it would give us more time to think about the content of the site, and would attract more traffic and members to help up. So far though, we've got a lot of things going for us, an active community, people to help with different aspects of a site (funds, graphics, etc), so I doubt we'll really fail at whatever we try.
Also, another thing we could try would be either embedding links or just linking to the Xros Wars episodes. Like a big master list. I'm sure a lot of Digimon fans look for the links at some point, and it'd probably draw some more people in. I mean, Spire posts the links anyway, so it wouldn't be a huge thing.
Something a little bit harder we could do would be to update on Digimon news. Not just Xros, but the games, and the cards, whatever. Ooh, and the manga too. Kinda like Serebii but with Digimon, obviously. For this we'd need some good translators, someone that can buy the actual articles and scan them, and some people to write the articles. I'd volunteer for the third place, myself.

This is mainly on the contents; so err... Yeah.
Contests! And tutorials about roleplaying and even writing. Though these are somewhat common - they still need a proper attention. These will be helpful (both for us and for people who read them because we reel people in and they get to learn something new) and we need someone with a good sense of humor and skills on writing a magazine report. Why magazine and not newspaper? We need people to feel like they can relate to the author of these articles.
That means, a sole website reporter needed.
Like you said, we can also showcase RPs; why don't we showcase funny/amazing RP posts instead? This might get people to get in and feel like it's not just Digimon-based. Vichy almost got people to join but because of the Digimon-heavy look, their fear of Digimons took over them. But they were really intrigued by the original concept RPs. (such a pity orz.)
Then about the contests. We can go with something like getting a character out of the CDB (probably one who's completely approved) and do like "Draw this character competition" or something. No it doesn't have to be that. We can also get people to write "The Most Creative Plot" or something! :D This way they don't feel all left out and people outside can join. I can make up to it by making a commercial video, like I said.
Aaaaaaaaand fan-stuffs. There better be the fanarts, fanfics and all (maybe even fanfics for the RPs we have here. That'd be fun!). Probably even set up a page/category for graphics (maybe wallpapers too. Whoever's good at it) - based on Digimon and maybe even Pokemon.
Last but not least - GET THE LATEST NEWSSSSSSSS. This is also why we need a sole reporter (maybe even more than one) because there might be news in a foreign language about gaming, (basically the ones that we focus on, like Pokemon and Digimon) so we need to be quick at that and have a good translator. I can try for that, so don't worry, that's taken care of.
I'm done talking now.
P.S - Maybe we can try changing the design concept of DR and try not to rely too much on Digimon pictures? Just asking. > >

Tutorials and intros for the main page I'd be happy to write up.

| and I do like KoH's suggestion of some sort of user based project, but of what, I'm not exactly sure. |
Game! We could self-insert CDB characters, or our own online personae, KoH the Dark Knight, chou the Blue Mage, Tailer the Fighter, Nym the White Mage, Slife the Paladin, the list goes on and on.
If not that, just some huge multiverse clusterfuck, or I've got another couple ideas if people are interested.
The premise was I'd just collate everything, with everyone else providing me with drive and new story ideas to keep me on it; the only reason my last projects failed was the same thing each time - a lack of motivation thanks to everyone not being bothered to talk about it.
I want to make it trippy, dark, or edgy, or just somehow different. Perhaps we're vampires and humanoid demons traversing through hell and new party members are lost souls bound to new forms. Perhaps it's typical medieval with a humorous spin. Perhaps it's a double-edged universe with a negative side where everyone's the opposite of what they are normally, for instance a white mage would become a black mage, a fighter an archer... everyone swaps around a link in the triangle.
Other than that, the website I'd be happy to help with. Costs, too.

This! And I'd be happy to report on other sites or review stuff, whatever. I'm at the team's disposal.

Articles, I like. Manga, not doable. 90% of Manga scantalations/translations are considered illegal. They've been cracking down on that sorta stuff lately. It's why it's so hard to find the Xros Manga. Plus, there's other sites that do it...
Now, discovering news would be great. Only problem there, we compete with WtW... Not to mention we have NO ONE on this site that can fully translate Japanese articles, especially fast enough to trump any other news site...
A broader range of news, I do however, like. Pokemon, Digimon, general anime-game-etc sorts of news. Thing is, there's TONS of other places with this info. Places better suited than for us.
Now, I got to thinking whilst I was out...
Chou brought up another good point. Tutorials. Love the idea. We could show people how the big boys(and girls) do it. You see all kinds of graphics tutorials. How many writing ones are there? Probably a bunch, but not as main stream.
We make a site that is helpful to members, they're going to like it.
As what I was thinking, expanding more on the member showcasing...
Highlights. Coverage of unique character ideas, unique RPG/fanfic ideas. We become a giant show-case website. Just showing off all these peoples' stuff. All fan-works of course. See, it'd be like fanfiction.net, or something, but BETTER.
Our goal. Let people get noticed. If people get noticed through how our site is set up, then we get popular too, if only by proxy.
Reports based on RP samples, or just general posts. I like that too. It can kinda show what we're all about. We'll set up a bunch of different 'reporters', and like... Really get an actual team going.
I like the idea of a fan-based work-show-off website.
The only thing is, finding a formula that works. Oh, and fronting the costs... And getting started... LOTS of work, but if we all work together, a project like this can go smoothly.
KoH, personally, I say wait for the game. Think about this... You've got another forum, just some unknown-AWESOME members, but since they're unknown, no one cares. Who wants to play a game of self-inserted characters that are just hiding in the internet somewhere. Let us try a shot at getting popularity, THEN we work on a game idea... Even as a full forum now, there won't be enough, I think.
And, I do like the idea of getting DR a domain name... It would help web traffic, search and stuff...
I also have another idea for that...
But yes. Fan-based site... There's not many sites out there that highlight EPIC fan-works... There are for 'fanfiction' and there's wordpress, but it's hard to find anything GOOD. We've got TVTropes with its pages about good fics, but even those can be hard to find. But with this fanbased, we can do RPGs/General Writing/Fanfics/Original Works... And Anime Videos, music videos, etc. Oh, and originally composed music, for our music boys(Looking at you, Admi!), and just...
Just a place to strut our stuff. People see what it's capable of, they'll wanna strut theirs too...
KoH - July 3, 2011 07:44 PM (GMT)
It sounds like a good idea, honestly, just to get more members. I'm all for it and I'd definitely be down with helping out~
The Beast - July 3, 2011 08:30 PM (GMT)
As I mentioned in the cbox...
My younger sister has quite the video skills, and has netted herself a following. She said she'd make us a video advertisement, and point all her subscribers and whatnot towards our site, thus bringing us a group of members before we even begin...
We need to try and drive it away from just digimon... Probably the forum too, possibly. I dunno yet. Don't worry, we'll keep a very similar layout. However, I have no idea on design of the forum itself...
I'm moderately versed with Webs.com, but I'm not sure... It'll be kinda generic looking, since they have just like templates... I'd much prefer an original creation... but whatever we can do, we'll do...
And I can only get 20 pages with webs. Without purchase, of course...
Ideas?
Spire - July 3, 2011 09:32 PM (GMT)
Ah, a website. Hmm. I can usually churn out something resembling articles so yeah, I can do that. Also if you need help by the way of funding, I can spare a bit as well.
Magna - July 3, 2011 09:33 PM (GMT)
A website seems like a rad idea. I fully support it and the tutorials are a must. I could also do the odd article if you like~
chou. - July 4, 2011 06:19 AM (GMT)
@Tails - We try to keep to the digital-theme. Something original art (it doesn't have to have a character) and probably from Pixiv because Pixiv is a use-for-free site as long as you credit. :'D We can use a picture of a scenery, but digital and futuristic; which obviously matches our name : Digital Revolution.
And Webs.
... I don't really like webs. /shot
Nymbus - July 4, 2011 10:14 AM (GMT)
I don't like the sound of changing DR's main theme at all, really. I mean, that's what brought the members that we already have here, and changing it from that just doesn't really sound good to me, I'd feel kinda disappointed if we had to change the whole topic of the forum.
And I still think getting our own domain name first would be a better move. More traffic = more members, in most cases, and I think that's the whole aim of the website. Plus a 'proper' forum will probably look more attractive than a free one, and it's easier to find, etc.
So if we get any donated money, if it was me personally, that's what I would do with it. I have DR bookmarked so I don't loose is, so it's obviously not easy to find, and I do really think this would help to bring in more people. xD
I think a website sounds good, but I don't think changing DR's main topic sounds fantastic, and I don't really think that we should do it right away.

Sorry to derail the current discussion, I just couldn't resist commenting on this. Why do you rely on Google to get here? Memorizing "z10" and "DigitalRevolution" shouldn't be too difficult, or even just copy-pasting the link and emailing a reminder to yourself.
I don't really like the idea of a site, since we have most of everything needed here among the various forums/boards, but hey. Just avoid Webbs/Freewebs, it's a pretty unsatisfying set up and would probably just turn folks away without some major effort.
Also: I agree with Nym on the theme.
Nymbus - July 4, 2011 06:55 PM (GMT)
New members can't memorize a link they don't know, is why. XD I have it bookmarked, for the record, so I don't loose it.
Zeed Draconius Seiryuu - July 4, 2011 06:57 PM (GMT)
Hm. Alright, then. And sorry for the mix-up in the last post.
