Title: Digital Collapse

The Digital World; a safeguarded secret since the 1960s, and it likely existed even before that. The organization that has kept it a secret and had a close, but quiet, eye on the Digital World was simply known as Watcher, a company with some of the greatest minds in the world behind it and a joint effort between a large amount of the world's countries. Around the year 2000, Watcher was allowed to conduct experiments involving the Digital World, and they had originally started small, but as time flew by, each experiment became more and more ambitious.

Finally, the experiment that would initiate the Collapse began in 2027. The simply concept was to modify the code of the Digital World's geography and terrain in order to create a tiny island. A simple idea, sure, but it's execution required precision, knowledge and quite a bit of guesswork. The execution of this project ended up corrupting the fragile infrastructure of the Digital World, and within 24 hours, the world would be destroyed, bit by bit.

The Digimon occupying the world would escape through only one mean; the internet. The rest would simply die off, destroyed with their homes. The 4 Sovereigns, likely to be destroyed with their world, decided to place data within several Digimon; the data was simply known as the Catalyst, and it had been born with the Sovereigns. It was the last hope if the Digital World was to be destroyed, and so the Gods decided to bring it all down to the luck of the draw.

While the Digital World crumbled, Watcher wasn't occupying themselves with the death of several artificial intelligences; they were quickly realizing the large can of worms they had opened up as Digimon rushed through the internet; the only exit being reality. The trek through the internet would take time, but the organization quickly panicked, as they began to ready a proposal; a set of laws that would universally be passed within several countries. The arrival of the Digimon into reality could lead to Armageddon, or an apocalypse, so Watcher was given free reign over nearly half of the world's freedoms.

A restriction on computers and the internet was immediately put on, as the most powerful computer a civilian could have was at least ten years old. The front for these laws was a staged hacking on Government computers that had control over nuclear weapons. These laws initially made sense considering the problem, but paranoia seemed to quickly set in at Watcher; they had created this mess, they had done this all, and now they would have to pay for it.

Laws became more and more ridiculous; privacy on phones or the computer was non-existent, the police were allowed random searches without warrant for illegal computers and if there was just a single toe out of line with your computer activity, you would quickly be jailed.

Almost immediately after all of these laws were passed, teenagers and young adults became more rebellious, aggressive and began to learn new ways to get around these laws. After all, in an age of injustice, there will always be rebellion.

On the dawn of the new year, 2028, Digimon began to come out of computer screens and into their new partners' laps, each with a small digivice. Some digimon agreed to partner up while others either ignored their partner to run amok, or killed them. Either way, with these digimon, a whole bunch of hackers are about to become very curious about what destroyed the digital world, and they're soon to face their true enemy.

It's time to end this age of Paranoia.

It's time to learn what destroyed the digital world.

But most of all, it's time to fight.
