Title: A Blast from the Past
Description: Shaun Vs. Zander again...........
Shaun Duncan - August 10, 2007 12:35 AM (GMT)
Tamer Name:Shaun Duncan
Digimon Species:Beast
Battle Type: Opponent
Field Area: windy School Yard
Payment:2,475-50=2,425
Shaun's life was going fine, he has a new digimon partner but he prefer to call them brothers. His latest member to his family is Terry, a timid Terriermon. Who loves being around Beary, his new older brother. This is the first time Terry ever been in the training field. Terry, never saw such a huge building before. He was quite intimidated by its size and wished they would train in a different manner. But as long as he sits on his brother's shoulders he doesn't care.
"Did you get a he tell you what time he was going to be here? Bearmon asked Shaun in hopes they weren't waiting their time in the same room they fought the first time they met Zander.
"Nope, I guess he had to finish somethings before he showed his face around here." Shaun then turned to the Terry, and smiled. "He must have heard how we improved. You know, you're big brother over here has a lot of power and endurance. But sometimes if we over train he's weaker before we start the training seasons."
Shaun then walked over to the console as his brothers walked be hind him. "Thats why I wanted to take a break before we go off on another adventure or training season. Beary earned the right to relax for a few days, but we need to keep up the work." As Shaun smiled "we don't want to get behind in our training seasons now do we?"
Terry whispered to Beary and then Beary relaid the message to Shaun. "Terry, wants to know what are you doing with the console?
Shaun replied, "I'm going to set up the battlefield for everyone. I also wanted to show Zander my old school yard, so I tried to create the school yard of P.S. 118.
The computer was warming up when Terry started to shiver with nervousness. Unlike Bearmon where he was too used to the effects of the training field.
Shaun then looked at his D-Ban and looked at the time, "Where is he?"
ZanderSteele - August 11, 2007 03:01 AM (GMT)
Walking towards familiar doors, Zander caught Koro glancing over at him, "What?" he asked in a somewhat annoyed manner.
"Sorry." Koro replied quickly, and he truly was, "I was just wondering who challenged you, if you wouldn't mind telling us." Koro then took a glance over a Bael, walking on Zan's left while Koro floated on his right.
Zander looked at them both with a raised eyebrow, "Why wouldn't I tell you guys? You are the ones who have to fight him." Zander replied as he came ever closer to the double doors leading to their next opponent, "We were challenged by Shaun Duncan again, and it seems like he has quite a bit of experience under his belt now... so be careful."
With a nod from both Bael and Koro he smirked, finally reaching the doors which he opened instantly to the sound of the generators starting up already.
The trio walked into the room to fing a quickly forming schoolyard. When they had reached the spot where Shaun and his partners were standing Zander smiled at him, "Long time no see Shaun, and I see you have a new partner as well..." Zander was always one to get to the point most of the time.
The Impmon to Zander's left stepped forward and raised a finger of his right hand, or what would be called a thumb on a human, and said, "The name's Bael, nice to meetcha!"
Shaun Duncan - August 11, 2007 02:14 PM (GMT)
By the time the purple pint size digimon introduce him the hologram was complete. It was a rather large play ground surrounded by a large fence and a gate that was locked by a pad lock. With in thee fence there's playground equipment to the west, the black top is to east, the school is to the north and the gate that leads to the streets is to the south.
Shaun was filled with nostalgic memories but over in the east corner Shaun felt depress since thats where he would go when lunch and recess since the rest of the kids shunned him every day since the accident. But since Beary and Terry had no idea what was going through Shaun's mind Beary just stepped forward and introduce the new member of the team.
"This is Terry, and I'm going to battle first."
Terry sighed of relief as he ran behind Shaun then covering his body with his ears. I'm not sure if I can hand any battles anymore. I wish I was as strong as Beary.
Shaun came back from memory lane, to explain the new training rules. "Sorry about that, I kind of miss P.S. 118." Shaun then adjusted his sword, and continued to explain the rules. "Since we both have at least two digimon we're going to have a special training season. Its going to be a tag team battle. The rules are simple, the tamers select decides who's going first and only when the digimon touch another part of his partner can they switch. Oh and only the tamers are able to aid the fighting digimon, the other digimon must stay in the side lines until they care tagged or the digimon reaches its Baby II form."
After explaining the rules Beary knew Shaun was up to some new training ideas, but he had to admit he liked the idea of the tag team. As Beary went into an offensive position Shaun surprised him when he said these words. "Terry, you're up!"
Terry was shocked but didn't want to offend Shaun. So as he walked up towards where Beary was standing, Bearmon nodded to Terry, and whispered in low enough for only Terry could hear, "you're a strong fighter, just do what come natural and you'll do fine!"
Terry smiled as he went to his offensive position as the wind blew his ears towards his right. Please pick the short one, please pick the short one.
ZanderSteele - August 12, 2007 02:58 AM (GMT)
Zander took a quick look around the area, mostly to take in the objects and placement. He then looked down to the little rabbit-looking thing that had stepped up to fight, "Alright I accept your terms." he said, then raised his D-ban to scan the new Digimon, "Terriermon... Rookie..." he mumbled, clearly calculating strategies in his head.
When he was finished he lowered his arm again and said, "Alright Bael, you're up first." he looked down at him, "Just remember your training and you'll do fine."
"Okay Boss!" Bael replied, stepping forward as Zander and Koro stepped/floated/ back a little ways, clearing a space for a fight.
"Guess i'll be fightin ya.." Bael added quietly, giving Terry a look and a smirk that suggested superiorness, but at the same time cautiousness, "I'll let you start things off.." he said, then readied himself.
Shaun Duncan - August 12, 2007 11:58 AM (GMT)
Terry wasn't really best at hand to hand combat so he knew from the beginning that he was going to get some distance from the petite size digimon. Terry was too far from the jungle gym run over there. But he was willing to stall some time so Terry could create some time. So Terry opened his mouth and the inside of the mouth glowed green and then he shoot out a Blazing Fire towards impmon and started to run.
As Terry was running he started to notice his feet wasn't touching the road. And when he looked down he was several feet above the ground. It was because of a strong breeze lifted the dog type digimon. This is nice, lets see what he's going to do now? Terry could see his opponent and he looks like was up to something. But what he did not know.
Back on the sidelines Beary and Shaun was having a conversation about Terry''s first attempt to strike. "You know he has a lot to learn, if that digimon has any ranged attacks he'll be defenseless." As Shaun talks he shuffle his deck of cards and looked at an extra card he wanted to give to Zander. after this training exercise I'll give him this card.
Bearmon agreed with Shaun to a point, "That maybe but you never know what that he's capable. We never trained with him, for all we know that could be the place he prefers during a battle. Bearmon then adjusted his cap and yelled out towards Terry You're doing great Terry, just focus on the battle!
ZanderSteele - August 12, 2007 02:20 PM (GMT)
For Bael, it was easy to hop to the right to avoid the energy attack, but he forgot one little detail: he had a tail.
He had to yelp in pain when his tail grazed the ball of energy, making him hop around for a second, "Oww! that hurt!" he called out, then setteled down a little.
He rased his right hand, pointing a single finger upwards as a small black fireball was created at his fingertip. He pulled back his arm and said, "you wanna throw stuff at me then you better be ready to take the heat!" then threw the fireball at Terry as fast as he could, "Badaboom!"
Zander and Koro watched fro mthe sidelines, and where Koro was enjoyign the show and waiting for his chance to fight, Zan was calculating and watching Impmon closely.
Shaun Duncan - August 12, 2007 02:42 PM (GMT)
Terry was enjoying his little ride, but when the fireball hit him. Terry started to fall towards the hard pavement. Both Shaun and Beary cringed when they saw Terry falling. But Terry was not down for the count, even though his chest was a little hot. Terry opened his ears and gently glided down to the ground. Terry didn't want to show it was hurt in fact he wanted to show he's brave to prove to his brothers he's not scared of attacks.
"Ha ha ha ha ha!" Terry laughed, "You need to do better then that if you want to take me down!" Terry then ran towards the purple digimon and started to spin, "Petit Twister!."
After the green twister consumed the dog type digimon it rushed over to impmon hoping it would work. As for the group in the sidelines they knew if impmon was more skilled they may have a problem but Shaun isn't even thinking about using his cards until the time is right.
ZanderSteele - August 12, 2007 03:38 PM (GMT)
Bael took a short hop back, then laced a finger to his forehead and concentrated hard. Two rings of blackish flame appeared between him and Terry on the ground, one within the other, and began spinning.
Zan watched quietly, pondering over Bael's choice of attack. He didn't even know if it would have the strength to stop the Terriermon, having never saw him use it against another attack like this.
Koro was smiling, glad to have a teammate like Bael if only because of the comedy and the reliability.
As soon as Bael felt he had pushed enough energy int othe rings he through his hands up into the air, the center ring closing and forming a much larger ball of fire then his last attack. "Infernal Funnel!" he yelled as he through his arms forward, shootign the flame ball at the spinning Terry.
Shaun Duncan - August 12, 2007 04:55 PM (GMT)
Terry jumped in the air and released the mini twister unknowing what waited him when he landed in the middle of the ring of fire. The twister itself was a little over a foot above the ground. While the attack was still heading towards impmon, Terry looked around and notices he was in the middle of a ring of fire. Terry stood there in the middle of the ring petrified with fear.
Kuma wanted to jump in and save Terry but Shaun hold out his arm and stopped him from breaking the rules. "Its ok, Terry won't die. I think Zander has too much respect for us to do something that unforgettable." Then Shaun stared at Zander then smirked, the old me would use a card right about now, but I think Terry has a plan.
But Terry did not have a plan he just stood there waiting for the pain. And if he can survive the attack then they're might be hope for him to win this round. He just needs to know that the pain he's about to feel will not make him weaker but in fact stronger. Bring it on, I don't want to feel like I'm weak. I don't want to feel like I have to stand and quiver every time theres a new battle which I must fight. Let this day, be the day I will stand my ground and fight my fight!
ZanderSteele - August 12, 2007 05:51 PM (GMT)
((I'll assume he jumped over the ball because it was only partially clear))
Bael didn't have the time to block nor dodge the twister, and was hit hard enough to lift him off of his feet and knock him backwards a good ways. He got up shortly after and brushed himself off, "Heh.. I like your style, but ya gotta do more damage then that to keep me down!" he shouted, though his eyes gave away the actual pain of the blow.
Although the remaining ring of fire might have seemed dangerous, it slowly dissapated as Bael lost concentration on it. When he felt like he could move safely he dashed forward towards Terry, creating another small fireball on each of the three fingers of his right hand and hurling them all towards his opponent, "Badaboom!"
Shaun Duncan - August 12, 2007 06:27 PM (GMT)
Terry was hit full force by the attack. Even though that was Terry was only hit twice Terry wanted to quit just because of the pain. But when ever he looked over to his family he pushed himself, blocked the pain and just look towards his goal. In defeating Bael and earning his right to be with his family.
Terry started to ran towards Bael as fast as his little lags can take him. And then once again Terry started to hover over the ground but this time, before he took off he jumped which made him hover upside down. So when he fired three Blazing Fire each one five seconds apart. Hoping if one of them would hit, then Terry would go in to do some real damage.
Shaun notice Terry was using his chest to take all of tun would just stop him again so he stood there hoping he would get his chance to fight.
ZanderSteele - August 12, 2007 07:13 PM (GMT)
Zander moved his arm when he saw the Terriermon jump, feeling Bael's fear not moments afterwards. When he saw the shots fired and the look on Bael's face he he pulled a single card from his coat and slashed it through his D-ban.
Bael didn't see any way to dodge all of the attacks, and any hit would cause pain, which he didn't like. He was surprised then, when he felt a burst of power in his muscles. The surprise didn't last long, and he moved so fast that it seemed like he disappeared, reappearing a safe distance behind where Terry was, three more fireballs in his hand. He flung them at a speed much faster then normal.
Zander sighed. He hated the fact that he had to cat first, but speed means nothing if the one using it is too injured to move.

Shaun Duncan - August 12, 2007 07:48 PM (GMT)
Shaun smirked, he should had let the attack went through then he could had counter, oh well. I was waiting for the moment he would draw his first card. Shaun looked at surprised as he could to fool Zander into believing he didn't fall for his trap. Shaun faced another speed demon digimon before he went into the digital world. During that time he was too weak to understand what it really means to fight. Now Shaun will show Zander what it means when you're digimon is faster then his.
While Shaun was getting ready for his attack Terry felt a burning sensation on his back. The pain was bearable but holding back some of the pain from previous attacks was starting to be too much Terry, but he still pushed. As Terry was falling he turned around to see if there was anything he could target, anything that would give terry sometime but sadly there was nothing in a playground he could use. So he just tried to open up his ears and landed towards the ground and suppressed the pain even more. Then he used another Blazing Fire towards Bael, and tried to defend himself just in case he was able to dodge the attack once again.
Thats when Shaun smiled and swiped a single card. This should buy us a little time, not a lot. But sometimes a little time is all you need. Shaun then whispered to Kuma, "Don't show that you're able to evolve to and adult. That will be our trump card." Kuma nodded and was ready to fight, he just wanted the chance to prove what he can do infront of Koro.

ZanderSteele - August 12, 2007 08:59 PM (GMT)
Zander was carefully keeping track of the terriermon, making sure his position wouldn't be a surprise to Bael. He didn't want to have to use more cards then needed to win this match.
Bael had a smirk on his face, the speed still flowing withing him. The smirk faded as he saw a net materialize around him and enclose to entangle him. He was about to give in to the net, thinking there was no way out, and shut his eyes.
Just then, Bael felt a chill go up his spine and around his body. When he opened his eyes he found that a small blizzard had surrounded him and shot outward. When the chilling air touched the net it froze it solid, the net shatering around the Impmon.
With a glance towards Zander he saw his tamer with his hand cocked back, a new card held in his hand. Bael smirked and launched himself forward in a a blur, literally hoping on Terry's attack which burned his foot, and leaping forward and slightly up as he summoned yet another set of fireballs to his hand. He flung them as before at Terry, then landed on the ground and took a great hop backwards, sliding through the air before he leapt to the right and backflipping into a safe position on top of a set of swings, standing on top of the bar that ran across the top.
Zander himself was amazed by how well he took to that kind of speed, but then again, he was amazed by Bael every day. It was easy to tell, however, that Bael had hurt his foot a bit with that stunt. It was also apparent now that Bael was panting lightly.

Terry, felt a little bit chilly along with the pain Terry could not try to suppress both being cold and the pain from the attacks so he ran back to Kuma and slapped his hand; and now its Kuma's turn! Kuma was too ready for a battle. Kuma jumped in to the air and said "Kuma armor evolve to......" Kuma's body started to change and grow with a glow with a bright light. "Sagittarimon!" The light shattered and into his armor form. Then with out wasting any time, he then said "Judgment arrow!" Then he shoot a three pronged arrow towards the rookie digimon. "Thats for hurting my friend!"
Shaun the kneeled down to his to his wounded digimon, "you did great, now let me heal your wounds while its your brother fights." Then Shaun swiped another card. And continued to watch Kuma and hopes he doesn't get to out of control.

(sorry for the short post)
ZanderSteele - August 13, 2007 12:49 AM (GMT)
Bael saw the arrow and braced himself to take off, but his leg stopped him and he was hit with the arrow. He shot out an arm and caught the bar he had been standing on as he fell, swinging around and landing on the ground, "What's da matter? Can't beat me in your normal form so you have to step it up a notch?"
Bael pointed a finger accusingly, but he was hunched over slightly. Zander smirked and said to Shaun, "He has a point you know... rage brings nothing, and if you continue to act like I used to you may lose this battle faster." Zander brought out three cards, but only slashed one.
A piece of pure white fruit appeared in Baels hand, which he put into his mouth and chewed before swallowing. The results were instant, and not only did the arrow wound and his leg feel better, but he found that he could catch movements better with his eyes.
Zan thought quickly about the next card, for he wasn't sure if Shaun could use it to his advantage or not. He decided to let the battle go on without more help for now.
Bael kicked forward again, speeding up to the Armor level and disappearing right in front of him only to reappear on his back, fireballs in hand. He threw them at his opponent then jumped down and ran to a safe distance.

(you know moving that fast on a bad foot is more harm then good? Think about it, do you run on a bad foot? And would you run even faster on a bad leg?)
Shaun had a confused look on his face, "last time I checked I won our last battle and during our first bout, it was you who warp evolve your digimon because you felt you were losing. Then you trapped him in a box and wanted to fight Bearmon on your own." Shaun then lowered his head feeling sorry for his rival. "I think you lost your. Well maybe this battle will remind you on how you used to be."
Kuma then continued Shaun's speech, "you have way too much to learn if you think I'm taking it up a notch. You're weak so you think this is power, I'm revenging my friend and knowing Koro after I'm done with you, he's going to do the same....." Kuma didn't get a chance to finish his speech when he notice the the mini digimon was gone before his eyes and he felt a little warm on his back. Blind siding an me was a mistake!
Kuma then lifted his front legs and turned turned around and held his bow quite strong, "Now heres a lesson, a blind attack is nothing but distasteful and shame will follow you until you learn your lesson." Then Kuma fired another arrow, this time faster then the last one. This time he was aiming for his chest just so he can prove his point.
Shaun wasn't really angry with Zander for saying those words just confused. Was he trying to get me upset? Or was he just joking around? This isn't really the time to think about. Shaun then looked down and ask Terry a question. "Are you ok? You know you did really great out there."
"thanks, but I'm more concern with Kuma then my healing."
Terry wasn't worried, Kuma saw more battles and knew he would be alright. "I hope Zander can keep that digimon on a short leash. That big mouth of his is something to be worked on." Shaun then focus on the battle again, knowing even if the attack missed. Impmon can't with stand all of those cards and still able to keep up the way he's fighting. Sooner or later he's going down and when does Kuma will be there to show him why he shows respect to every digimon, younger or older.

"I evolved Koro to teach you, or did you forget that you asked me to be your opponent in that training session?" Zander looked amused, then his smirk faded as he said, "I hope you were jesting with that last comment, Shaun... because I will NEVER be the weakling I used to be." Zander narrowed his eyes and continued, "I have seen the purpose I serve in this world, and now that I have full control of my mind I have become more powerful then you could imagine..."
Koro was surprised that Zander was so calm, for he would have been quite angry as Shaun before. He was even more surprised by the next comment.
"My tactics may seem dirty and distasteful to you, but destiny had placed that evolution card in my hand, and it gave me the power to vanquish any that stand in my way."
Bael barely got out of range of the arrow before it hit him, then stopped and pointed at the centau-like creature, "The same goes for you, don't call me weak just because you can't stop me from sneaking around you! Just admit that I am faster then you, no matter how many levels you use! If you were a real Mon you would fight me, Rookie to Rookie, instead of making excuses!"
Zander smirked at Bael's words. One small part of him wanted to tell BAel not to use such words against a respected opponent, but the other, much larger half saw it as words to demoralize the enemy and nothing else.
Zan revealed one of the two remaining cards in his hand and slashed it slowly, "Let us teach Shaun how we deal with someone who taunts us..."
Bael grinned as he heard Zan's D-ban begin playing a strange song, a slow methodical tune that only Koro and Bael seemed to be immune to, which would seem calming and luring to the others.

(feel better and completely healed are two different things! And do you really think A. an armor digimon's attack is worth more then 20% and B) he isn't effected by the other attacks?)
Shaun heard the music coming from Zander's D-Ban and noticed Terry was falling asleep. This isn't good! Just then Shaun swiped another card targeting Kuma. Shaun did feel sorry for Terry but since was fast asleep.
Kuma on the other hand started to fall asleep but when he felt the power of the card effect kicking in. Kuma acted as though he was falling asleep, and kneeled down towards the ground. And waited a couple of seconds before he fired another arrow straight at Bael's chest again.
"This is what happens when your tamer, keep using dirty tricks."
Shaun agreed, he couldn't comprehend what Zander went through that changed him so drastically. But Shaun didn't care, he won't give up with out a fight and as Terry sleeps he's still gaining his strength back. So about the time when he wakes up, he'll be ready for round two.

((I never said he was healed of all injury, but the burn was for his foot only and it was almost a split second touch with the energy ball. He still has the speed despite his stamina drain, and it shows because he barely missed these attacks now.))
Zander narrowed his eyes and slashed the last card in his hand, as he thought he would. It was to Koro, however, that this card seemed to be directed.
Koro felt an odd tingle on his frame, but threw it off as the afteraffects of Zan's card.
Bael again barely got away from the direct attack, letting the arrow pierce his left arm instead with a yelp of pain. he felt the speed go away and crouched down, panting lightly. He didn't move to evade anymore, but instead waited for the card's effects to kick back in.

"What happen to you?" As Shaun swiped another card. "You used to have honor! I could believe what you were doing was the right thing. But now you bring dishonor just so you can "protect" you're new digimon." Shaun once again lowered his head, "and to think, I considered you a rival." Shaun really couldn't do much, he just waited by the sidelines and hope nothing else was going to happen.

Zander laughed, staring over at Shaun with a look of cruel humor, "dishonorable... trying to break someone of their destiny is dishonorable! You sit here and belay me with useless words just because you can't defeat me! Did you really think me worthy of rivaly?" Zander spoke with malice in his voice, "I most certainly do not think of you as one... heh, you barely make the top ten of my threat list..."
Koro couldn't tell for sure whether Zander was still trying to trick Shaun or if he really meant those words.
Zan gave Bael a glance, and pulled two cards, slashing them as he said, "I will show you what true power is all about... I will teach you a lesson about destiny!"
Zander drew two more cards, still cautious about his card use. when he slashed these two he smirked.
Bael felt a sort of tingle on his skin, then a small red jewel on a golden chain was around his neck, glowing and making him feel an intense burst of literal fire power.
He ran towards the flame-protected Digimon, confident that Zander had him protected from the effects of the fire. He found that he could pass right throug hand meet the sleeping foe at close range. He used the surge of power to create those two spinning rings again, forming a ball of hellfire much larger and hotter then last time. "Infernal Funnel!" he shouted, then dropped the fireball on Kuma.

Shaun Duncan - August 13, 2007 01:27 PM (GMT)
(Sorry, about that. I wasn't too sure if I was allowed to control someone else character/attacks.)
"You really want me to bust a gut don't you?" Shaun didn't really care for the talk of destiny. Shaun just wanted to see how Zander improved but by the looks of thinks. Zander skills improved but with his skills so did his arrogance. This way of fighting is childish, instead of using skills he's using a card every three seconds. Shaun noticed Terry was waking up from his little nap. "Now, about this lesson of yours."
As Shaun swipes another card, "before you mentioned I couldn't beat you. But your impmon is extremely weak, Koro over there looks board as a peace of wood. And you're using a card every three seconds. Sounds to me like you're the weak one and you're hiding behind some new "destiny." Shaun then picked up Terry and continued his speech. "You really don't know how to treat your digimon do you? Do you realize how much pain you're putting that little guy over there, just so you can say I win?"
The barrier returned and reflected and push back Impmon if he got too close to Kuma's "personal space."When Kuma came to he shoot another arrow but not at the chest, this time his head. After Kuma fired the shot he listen to what Shaun had to say.
"Kuma right now, may feel a little tired but he's still able to fight. While you're impmon not only with stood attacks from both of my digimon, but the relentless usage of your cards! If you call that power then I don't want any of it. What you call power I call blind ambition. I may be younger then you, but I know I'm wiser then you. So before Kuma finish of your digimon, what was that lesson again?"
Kuma laughed, knowing Koro will join the battle and he'll see some real action. Koro, I know you don't want to see a digimon fighting like this tell him to tag out already!
"Oh yea, how you could understand the universe in such a young age. Because thats they only way you could know your own destiny! I'm sick and tired seeing that poor digimon on the battlefield. Kuma and I will allow you to tag your partner, so we can really get this battle started."

ZanderSteele - August 14, 2007 02:30 AM (GMT)
Zander scoffed at Shaun ad Impmon was blown backwards by the effect of the card, landing a few feet away.
"I tire of your lectures, Shaun, and that is precisely why I am going to teach you respect for those more powerful than you.
Zan looked over at the shaking Bael and smirked, "Bael, do you want to tag out, or do you want to teach Kuma pain?"
Bael turned slowly and nodded. He would most certainly feel like trash if he was forced to give up after all of this, "No, boss, I wanna keep fighting and beat these guys..." he panted slightly.
"See?" Zander replied, "He doesn't want to quit, and I guess I can expect you to know all about pulling your pertners out of a fight... just like the coward you are. You continue to tell me that I am worthless and that Bael is weak, but you cannot hide that from your two Digimon, you can't even beat a Rookie."
Zan slashed a card with a smirk, "Miracle Ruby" he said, stowing the used card before pulling another.
Bael felt al lhis pain, his injuries, go away in a flash of light. He stood with a smirk like Zander's He stretched and said, "Now for round two!"
Zander held up his D-ban, the glowing symbol of corruption showing then flying at Bael, who yelled, "Impmon Armor evolve to.." as he was engulfed by light, the light shot upwards into the sky and formed a bird, blue and gold armor tipped its feathers and body everywhere, and long grey hair flowed down his back, "Thunderbirdmon!" the new Bael said, then made for a dive bomb at Kuma, his new form a Data type instead of a Virus.
"Thunder Storm!" Bael cried, electricity charged on his wings and shot forwars as bolts of lightning, aimed at Kuma.
"Want me to be more like my old self then so be it!" Zan shouted out, clenching his non-card wielding hand into a fist.

Shaun Duncan - August 14, 2007 10:55 AM (GMT)
(you don't think you're god modding a little? I really think HP and endurance are two different things.)
Shaun could only think of one reason for why Zander would push his new digimon like that. "You're pride will get you're digimon killed! You're Impmon was defeated but if it wasn't for his pride Koro could had his chance to battle."
Shaun then place his new partner on his shoulders and continued "Pride is good, but too much pride will only hurt your digimon in the long run."
"Oh, and by the way you're getting Kuma angry. So that was a warning, now I'm not in control of my digimon's actions."
Shaun was correct his digimon was frustrated that he didn't switch. He really wanted to face Koro, but seeing Koro just floating not doing or saying anything. He was a loyal digimon, but Kuma hoped he could speak against this battle. Thats when Kuma shot not one but two; arrows towards The Thunderbird.
After Kuma was hit by the electrical attack. It wasn't as bad as Kuma thought it would be. So he shooked it off and stood his ground, he didn't care how much pain that bird would try to give him. He wouldn't say defeat until he fights Koro.
"You know, you're going down!......Soon!" Kuma shouted, in hopes to get the thunder birds feathers ruffled.
ZanderSteele - August 15, 2007 01:01 AM (GMT)
Zander looked up to Bael, "Bael does what he is told, as does Koro. This may only be a training session, but out in the Digital World there are worse things." Zander said slowly, no trace of anger, nor annoyance in his voice, "If you would rather have your partner destroyed out there then fine, but I will train mine as hard as I can here where they, will not be destroyed, to ensure they survive, even without me.
Traces of the old Zander seemed to show, though Zan's look didn't change, "I treat my partners like soldiers here, where they work themselved to near-deletion to attain the skills they need to survive in the Digi-World."
"Koro and Bael both know of my meathods, and have both agreed to them. I do not force them to battle. They do it because they believe in me."
For the first time this whole battle, Koro nodded and said, "That's right." HE had no idea why he hadn't made that clear before, but he felt that it was okay to say it now.
Bael smirked, soaring up into the sky as he dodged one arrow, the other leavign a chink in his wing armor, "We fight this hard because we want to, not because we gotta!" Bael replied. It was clear the energy was drained from him, but he was pushing himself to last as long as possible. He fired more bolts of lightning fro mhis wings at Kuma, then swept low and perched on the swing set, taking a short breather.
Zander smirked and continued, "If you think I am some maniac who seeks only to use my partners to destroy or be destroyed, then you're wrong. I care for my partners like you care for yours. I, unlike you however, seek to build my strength here and keep my partner's out of danger." This new side of Zander would only be seen once or twice, though it did seem like the good in him was still there... somewhere.
((Wanted to know, but I don't care how it sounds really.))
Shaun Duncan - August 16, 2007 02:57 AM (GMT)
Shaun just tuned out what Zander was talking about. He just didn't care about what he said anymore, he really didn't care about the battle. The only thing Shaun cared about was to end this battle as quickly as possible. Even though he knew Koro still hasn't fought, if Kuma can survive the next two minutes, Terry can set in and finish the job.
So Shaun swiped two cards with out saying a word, showing no emotions. Shaun just was in a zombie like trance. Shaun felt if his heart is not in the battle nor should his mind. So Shaun would respond to the events with out his heart. Which could be a problem to Zander if he continues to treat Shaun if he wasn't a threat.
Kuma jumped out of the way from the attack with a little difficultly but a little more scratches on his body wouldn't stop him to continue his attack on the cocky digimon. When Kuma felt a weird sensation through out his body. He only knew Shaun swiped a card. But which one Kuma did not know but he did feel more explosive.
So when Kuma dashed towards the thunder bird, Kuma couldn't contain the new power that was growing inside him. And was released through his palms aimed towards the the cocky bird. After that Kuma fired another arrow towards the one wing that was not hit by the his arrow. I'm sorry Shaun I guess I have to break your rule.
After that Kuma stopped from his charge and dearmor evolve and went back to his child form. Though he was weaker in this form, Kuma was going to break the one rule Shaun told him not to break. If he showed what he's really able to do Zander will be able to formulate a plan to defeat.

ZanderSteele - August 16, 2007 10:46 PM (GMT)
As Bael found himself extremely vulnerable to attack, being that he was not airborne, and tried to think of useful tactics to escape until he found Zander doing something. He decided to let his tamer try his hand at tactics this time.
Zander slashd two cards as well, replacing them in his card box just as quickly, "You will never learn will you..." he said, more as a statement then a question.
Bael found a sudden power burst, being really tired anyways, and closed his avian eyes as light surrounded him. He was surrounded by a column of data, and when Kuma's attacks reached the light and went through to hit.... nothing, the arrow and fireworks went right through the cloud.
When the light faded, there was no bird Digimon. There was a tall, muscular Biker-like Digimon, his face covered in a mask of pure metal... or was that his face for real? Chains covered his chest and arms, which were blazing with a blackish flame. Flaming blue eyes peered from the metallic face as the lower portion of the mask lowered, revealing a mouth of heat and blue flame as he said slowly, "I am SkullMeramon...."
His form seemed transparent, probably the cause of the missed attacks, and when he did shift back to full existence he laughed, a deep laugh that lasted several seconds. He said nothing to Kuma as he grabbed one of the chains on his chest and pulled it off at one end, swinging it over his head as he said, "Heat Chain!" and cutting it down towards Kuma like a flaming whip.

Shaun spoke in a very monotone voice "Why do you fight?" Shaun still was in his zombie mode, that question was buried in Shaun's mind since he the first time they fought. The question came out of his lips with the greatest of ease since he stop caring, he just became a tamer that focus on ending the battle. Shaun then swiped another card, and just glared into the battle.
Kuma was about to evolve when a giant ominous black tower appeared where the school stood. Just then Kuma was not able to evolve, so thats when he got an idea Hmm, I can't evolve then that means Bael can't either. But Bearmon did not attack, Kuma just ran back a few feet and focused on wait for Bael to attack.
While Terry was enjoying himself he couldn't help but to wonder How much Kuma can handle? And if Kuma was just starting then why did he devolve back to his Bear form? So many questions bothered the tiny dog digimon but he didn't help but to wonder if he'll ever be able to evolve like Kuma did?

"I fight to show myself that I have the strength to win.." Zander replied, still watching the fight.
As Bael was dropped back to Rookie level he scowled in anger, "You'll pay for that! I'll unleash my most powerful attack on ya!"
Zander quickly slashed two cards, knowing full well what Bael was going to do.
Bael floated into the air with Phantom's Wish, holding both hands open, palm up to to his sides. he felt the added surge of power of the elements and shouted, "Summon!!!"
As heat started to gather in his left gloved hand, forming into a sphere of pure fire energy pulled out of thin air, chilling air formed into his right gloved hand to form a sphere of pure ice energy.
He took both elemental "spirits" and fused them in his hands, then lifted the fused ball oved his head as it grew to giant proportions. When he concentrated all of his energy into the orb the fire and ice spirits swirled faster and combined more, and as he threw it forwards as hard as he could and sent it spiralling straight at Kuma the fused fire/ice ball exploded in energy and grew larger, but still maintained its shape... at least until it found its mark.
Bael hunched over when he had fired the ball, his energy strained to the max now. With the cards effect he stayed in the air and turned himself transparent in case of a counter-attack. He was hoping the added kick to both the fire and ice elements would give that attack the punch it needed.

Shaun showed no emotion when he responded to Zander's answer. "But you're digimon are the one fighting not you. How can you prove to yourself when its not really yourself who's fighting?" Shaun then continued to stare into the battlefield, still with the same expression on his face. Inside he felt this battle with the impmon should had ended long ago.
Bearmon took the attack head on, he didn't back down nor did try to run away. Mostly because of the hundreds of thousands bugs crawling and bitting him. Kuma took the hit like a bear. He just focused all of the pain, and the mix of burning and freezing sensation all on to one part of that body so, even though he was in pain. If he just focus on that part, he'll still be able to continue to fight.
But just to be sure Kuma just turned around and yelled out, "A card would be nice!"
Shaun just looked for a card then slashed it through his D-Ban. When the effect kicked in Kuma felt most of his wounds healed. But some of them still remained, while he felt he a more energized from the day before. The guy is transparent,
can't really do anything right now. Just need to wait out just a little bit more, then I'll strike. Kuma then went into a defensive position and just waited on Bael to make the next move.

ZanderSteele - August 18, 2007 12:48 AM (GMT)
Bael cursed under his breath, much like his tamer. He panted heavily as he took a few steps back and surveyed the situation.
Zander was starign at two cards in particular as he responded to Shaun, "If I can keep my partners safe and defeat all opponents in battle outside this training field, then I know I have did my job..."
He then added, "I think it's time for Koro to fight, but first a little trick up my sleeve..." he then slashed the two cards.
Bael disappeared in a puff of smoke, only to reappear next to his tamer in another muff of smoke. he faded back into existence then tagged Koro's gear-hand with his gloved one, then fell to the ground and devolved to Baby II, fainted from lack of energy.
Koro floated forward as, from the first smokepuff came a wicked demonic-looking puppet, looking like Impmon and controlled by nothing. It instantly sped towards Kuma and jumped at him, its intent on setting itself aflame then exploding gloriously.

Shaun Duncan - August 18, 2007 02:36 AM (GMT)
When Shaun saw the puppet charging at Kuma Shaun countered whatever Zander was plaining by slashing two cards. While Terry closed his eyes in fear Shaun was too slow and the attack would go through and Kuma would be near deletion or deleted.
But Shaun was in the nick of time, when the card's effect kicked in. The puppet exploded with great force. It destroyed a huge wing of the school where Kuma was stood behind. Even though Kuma tried to move but could not. Zander, you could had deleted me Bearmon was still in a defensive position, he just waited and see what his older brother was going to do.
Shaun noticed Kuma was not able to move. So Shaun just swiped another card to aid his brother. while continued to talk to Zander in hopes he would focus more on the conversation then the next couple of seconds. "You must train every hard if you use cheap tatics to take down Kuma." Shaun then blinked his eyes, still emotionless still in the state of wanting the battle to be over. "Kuma and I train so we don't have to fight. We're not here to prove anything. I wanted to see how much you improved or in this case deteriorate."
When Shaun finished his sentence a giant red bird man hybrid flew down wearing native american clothing. Swoop down and used her Shadow Wing attack right at Koro from right above the metallic digimon. What Kuma hopes he would know until it's too late.

ZanderSteele - August 18, 2007 03:34 AM (GMT)
Koro didn't expect such a quick attack, and flinched when the attack came near... but it never made contact. Koro saw a red cape materialized in front of his face, draped over his frame as a sword came into being in his mouth.
When the attack was blocked the cape disappeared, then a second card kicked in, and just after Koro spat the sword out at Kuma he disappeared only to reappear in a blur closer to his foe. He would have attack if he had not been prevented, but Zan looked like he had plans of his own.
Zander watched the fight carefully, answering only to continue the conversation, but his mind was stuck with the most important things, "You train so you don't fight? So you train to back out of fights then... or else you would have no choice but to fight. My tactics can only be called cheap by a person too weak to keep his pertner out of a situation like that... which you are.."

Vn70072 - August 18, 2007 04:18 AM (GMT)
The concrete beneath the feet of all combatants suddenly trembled violently, tectonic vibrations causing the ground to buck and crumble as tremendous force rippled through it.
((Earthquake!))
Shaun Duncan - August 18, 2007 02:39 PM (GMT)
(way to attack when Zero Hour is still in effect)
When the ground started to shake Shaun snapped back to his old self. But he still didn't show any emotions, but he was ever concern about Kuma's predicament. So Shaun swiped twin cards and continued the conversation. "You're still blind." Shaun spoke in a monotoned voiced. "You think your way is the right way and I'm just a coward. Yet neither of us are really fighting."
Shaun then points at Kuma struggling to keep his balance while the ground shakes. "He's the one fighting, not me. You hold yourself so high like you're some great warrior, when in fact you still have a lot to learn." Shaun almost fell towards the ground because of the consent shaking but he stood his ground. And even though he'll continue to like he's going to fall. Shaun will try to prevent that from happening.
"I'm going to teach you a lesson, a lesson about respect, a lesson about honor, a lesson your parents should had taught you a long time ago." Shaun then swiped another card this one, was one of his classic cards which he tries to use in each of his battles. Fly arrow, fly to where Koro will know what it means to be a true partner.
Kuma didn't notice where the arrow was going. In fact he was trying to evolve to his adult form, but he couldn't. So unless Kuma grew some wings, he doesn't stand a chance. So Kuma continued to stay in a what it seems a shaky defensive position and hopes Shaun did something to save his butt.

Vn70072 - August 18, 2007 03:29 PM (GMT)
A horrid screech like fingernails on a chalkboard sounded from high above as a shadow passed overhead. An enormous dragon-like creature with scraggly leather wings and four evil eyes swooped overhead, summoned by the power of Darkness Approaches.
The tremoring in the ground suddenly shifted, something bursting up from the surface and spewing dirt in all directions. The massive saurian's red scales gleamed, black markings, spikes, and arm blades all apparent. A Growmon had arrived to aid Shaun.
"Exhaust Flame!" A stream of searing hot fire shot from Growmon's mouth, directed straight at Koro. No doubt the constant rumbling of the ground would throw off his aim a bit. The moment the stream of fire abated, Devidramon, still airborn, dove forward, shrieking "Crimson Nail!" as his talons flashed red and slashed.
ZanderSteele - August 18, 2007 06:17 PM (GMT)
((Didn't see Zero Hour, so I fixed it.))
Zander looked over at Shaun carefully, trying to steady himself at the same time from the massive earthquake that was now affecting the schoolyard. HE turned towards the spot that Bael had collapsed, pressing a button on his D-ban to make his partner devolve to Baby I then another button so he could safely store Bael in his D-ban.
"Respect? honor? I'm surprised you haven't noticed the truth..." Zander said, as calm as when he entered the battle, "I have been holding back MY power, and that was out of respect for you and honor for my Digimon... this is their battle, and although I could show you right now just how well I can fight, I had chosen at the beginning of this battle not to do so."
Zander continued as Koro was hit by the arrow, being pushed back, wincing in pain. It was a small injury compared to what could happen if this earthquake stopped affecting Kuma.
"Don't you dare tell me I have a lot to learn when it's you that need to open your eyes... WE ARE NOT THE SAME.... and I would rather die then to make myself as weak as you. If I were using the true power of the darkness within me... then you and your partners would be dead despite the training arena rules.... so about respect and honor I will say this: don't lecture me about your ways until you can prove that you have sampled the dark side. Only then can you ever lecture me and make a difference... that is if you don't take a liking to the darkness..."
Zander then heard and felt, rather then saw, the arrival of two new opponents. He let his smirk fade as he said, "So you can't beat me with skill alone, you call on the aid of others... well then I will not hold back anymore...I will break my promise because you forced me to!"
Zan spoke clearly as he slashed the first of four cards he had drawn, "Fly-trap!" then directed it at the Devidramon. HE then slashed another as he said, "Hope Arises!" and yet another as he shouted, "Meat!" and directed the third card to Koro.
He slashed a fourth and said, "Hollow Wind!" which he directed at Kuma.
Zan held up his D-ban as it flashed with a blackish-purple light, then crackled with electricity of the same color. the power spread all over his body as he said, "Human Spirit of Corruption... aid me now! Spirit Evolution!!!"
Zander was surrounded in corrupted electricity and light as he grew and changed, eventually bursting from the transformation with a loud battle cry as he landed on the ground, now in the shape of a fully armored samurai with a large sword, the symbol of corruption on the blade, "Musyamon!"
Koro saw a piece of meat appear before him and instantly grabbed it before using his enhanced speed to dodge the Growmon's attack, but got skimmed by the Devidramon, making him yell out in pain again. He felt part of the arrow's injury go away and decided that he too should be changing. He was surrounded in light and shifted to his Adult level as well, "Guardromon!!"
Before he could touch the shaking ground he engaged his thrusters, and with the speed of a Renamon he burst forward through the air towards the Growmon. With his enhanced physical strength he pulled back his arm and aimed a hard punch to the Growmon's jaw
Zander, meanwhile, had not stayed on the unstable ground for too long, pulling his sword back and leaping forward towards where the Devidramon was most likely to end up after the dive. Flames burst around his sword's blade, which he swung towards where he estimated Devidramon would be and yelled, "White Bird Sword!"
