The Trailmon carrying several passengers announced that they were approaching the Digital City. Since the Psychemon had never been to the city, he scurried to the other side of the train for a good look. His human tamer was also curious and joined him to peer out the window.

Sai had heard that the Digital City was huge, but that word had done it great injustice. It wasn't just "huge"; it was magnificent! Its size and the shine of the buildings in the sunlight were what made it splendorous. To Tashita, however, it was nothing new. She sat back down in her seat and went back to her thoughts. Sai glanced over his shoulder at her.

"What's the matter, Tashita?"

"Nothing."

"Don't you like the city?"

"You'll have to forgive me, Sai. I live in one of the biggest cities on Earth. Such a sight is not as impressive to me."

"I see. Would you prefer to live out in the country, then?"

"I have considered it. One can see the appeal in such a simple life. You don't have a taxi trying to run you over or have the every-day hustle and bustle through a sweaty crowd. However, it would be an inconvenience to live too far away from a city."

"How do you figure that?"

"If you have a medical emergency, for example. A family member on the verge of death or your own stupidity of being bitten by a poisonous animal. One cannot afford to live outside the city these days because that's where hospitals are located. There is also the matter of food. People rarely hunt for their meal now that establishments such as grocery stores and food suppliers have been developed. Farmers are equally important among the economy, but food must be processed properly in order for one to digest it."

"Here in the Digital World, we have to hunt for our meal. We only have one city and it's very far from our homes. There aren't enough Trailmon to pick up everyone. Death here in the Digital World isn't a reason to go to the hospital. Our data just gets reconfigured in Primary Village and we are reborn as an egg."

Tashita stared at him. "Does this mean that there are dangers here in the Digital World that are unlike those on Earth?"

"Far too many, I'm afraid. According to Elecmon, humans are only brought to the Digital World when it is in dire need of help. That is why some Digimon are destined to become the partner to a human: to protect that human and fight at their side."

The Trailmon began to slow down. Neither of them removed their hard gaze from one another.

"What sort of dangers might we be facing? I would like to be prepared when the time comes."

"Large, angry Digimon that are up to four times more powerful than myself. Many are wild and act on instinct, but you cannot underestimate them. There are also some that do the bidding of humans. Our greatest threat at the moment is a human tamer named Insomnia who has hacked into the Digital Core. She has an army of both Digimon and tamers at her command. We call these tamers 'Dark Tamers'. There are few that don't work for Insomnia and these can be just as dangerous."

"I understand," she nodded. "Now that I know my enemy, I know how to fight it. Thank you, Sai."

"You're welcome, Tashita."

At last, the Trailmon came to a full stop. He announced their arrival at the station and opened his doors. Tashita stood up with her backpack and lead her companion out the doors. She surveyed her surroundings for a time before making her way towards a small Dokunemon selling maps of the city. The bits calculated on her D-ban were calculated and appeared before him.

"I would like to purchase a map, please," she said a flat tone.

"Sure, honey, here ya go!"

The yellow worm-like Digimon handed over a map in exchange for the Bits. She and Sai left the creature to his sales for a more empty corner of the station where she could look at it. The map was unfolded. Sai stood there bored while his tamer scanned the map. At last, she folded it back up and stuck it inside her bag.

"If I was given 5,000 Bits upon my arrival, that should sustain us for money until I can find a way to make some. Is this assumption correct, Sai?"

"Absolutely, but what sort of job will you be getting?"

"I am unaware of my options at the present time. We will also need the essentials: shelter, food, water, and protection."

"I'm your protection, remember?" He frowned as she began to walk towards the station's exit. "And we can always get an apartment. That takes care of the shelter and water."

"We shall look into an apartment. And I was referring to a different sort of protection. I am skilled with a handful of weapons and I would like to have one on hand in case you and I get separated."

The pair of them left the station in search of the necessities. Since the sun was high, she wasn't too worried about time and Sai's mind was stuck on monetary calculations and probability statistics. Typical Sai.
