Title: Moving Forward

Jules was in absolute awe of the station before him. It was nowhere near as large as the main terminal in the city itself, and thus not nearly as busy, but he'd only been alive for an hour or so, and simply had never seen so much in one place.

Behind him stood his partner, eying the area with the same enigmatically silent gaze that it always had.

"Now then, let's find ourselves a ride to our new home, shall we?" Antennae twitching in excitement, the insectoid child scuttled off towards the boarding area, human following a few steps behind. He quickly found an Angler-model that was headed in to the city proper, and got on with no trouble besides what Jules interpreted as his partner's hesitance to travel on such a vehicle.

In minutes, though, they had gotten seats in an otherwise-empty car. The Dokunemon had wanted to sit on his tamer's lap, but when it flinched upon his touch he turned away, disappointed.

Still, he told himself, it hasn't left my side yet, so it will definitely warm up to me in no time!

He could sense that it was currently looking out the window, but as it would be some time before they reached the city, Jules felt that he needed to explain some things.

"Excuse me!" That got its attention. "First off, I don't think I've been properly introduced. My name is Jules, and I am your digimon partner, your guide and guardian during your stay in the Digital World." He paused a moment, letting that information sink in. "Digimon, or Digital Monsters, are the original inhabitants of this world, though lately a number of humans such as yourself have appeared."

Though it felt as if he was talking to himself, he soldiered on. "We digimon, as you may have guessed, come in all shapes and sizes. Many of the details are relatively unimportant, but if you wish I think you can get more information from the digivice on your wrist." Judging by how it glanced down to the brown-and-purple D-ban on its wrist, Jules was certain his partner was paying attention.

"The main thing I think you need to understand is that, as a digimon grows stronger, they will change into stronger forms in a process known as both 'evolution' and 'digivolution'. Not counting the egg from which a digimon hatches, there are 6 main stages of evolution: Baby I, Baby II, Child, Adult, Perfect, and Ultimate. As far as I know, no digimon knows their entire evolutionary line from birth. He paused for a deep breath.

"I myself am currently at Child-level; my species is called 'Dokunemon'. I evolved from my Baby II stage, Budmon, during that bit of unpleasantness earlier, and before that I evolved from Botamon while you were unconscious." Jules gasped, remembering something important. "Oh, yes! You may have suffered a minor concussion when you entered the Digital World, based on how I found you. Fortunately, I believe we can both get ourselves checked out at a medical clinic in the city, though as I've never been I'm afraid I don't know where to find it, per say. His antennae drooped at the realization that it would still be some time before his precious partner could receive aide, and even longer before they actually figured out where they would be living.

The Trailmon's whistle blew, signaling that they'd already entered Digital City. Reassuring himself that everything would turn out fine, Jules lead his tamer out into the bustling city.
