High noon. The best time as any to have a showdown, and Riko sported the clothes to match. Pushing the swinging doors of the saloon, his long coat flowed behind him. To each side of the door, rocking chairs were positioned; an Agumon sat in the one on the right while a Gabumon occupied the one on the left. Brown leather boots clanked on the wooden steps to the dry ground; the spurs chimed as he walked. An clean-pressed auburn shirt was tucked into his creased denim jeans with a silver belt buckle. Dry heat baked the ground, but the felt hat on his head battled the vicious rays. A golden star shimmered on his coat;the teenager strode into the middle of the path.
Behind him, a Terriermon and Elecmon followed sporting similar hats. The stood on either side of the human, all with their hats low, facing West toward where the sun sets each evening. Illion set pushed the tip of his hat up so he could see. Apparently, it was too big for him, and it frustrated him to be wearing it in the first place. Their opponent would be there soon enough to where it wouldn't matter.
(I thought it would be interesting to have a double battle since you have two partners and I haven't used Eva and Illion that much!)

It was hot.
When Sean and his partners Arrow and Tyerel walked out onto the field, an old western town at high noon, they were a bit taken a back at the scenery. They weren't usually accustomed to hot climates or desert training fields, in truth they all looked rather out of place. Sean especially looked weird in the scenery with his black hat with a feather in it.
"So this is the place huh?" Arrow asked, looking around. "Dry and musty, god it’s the first year of my life all over again" The terriermon said, folding his arms and scowling. He, like the seal, hated the desert for more than one reason. Unlike the gomamon, it wasn’t because it made him feel dry and overheated. The desert reminded him of the time he had wandered the desert searching for his patamon friend Javelin. It had been a rough time and it was difficult to remember by choice. But hey, the dessert wasn't all bad. Sometimes you'd run into a beautiful fox in the desert that could captivate the mind and senses...
Tyerel soon found the other group and pointed them out. He also spotted their digimon, an elecmon and another terriermon...interesting. The terriermon looked to be the most welcoming so Tyerel smiled at her and waved. She was fairly cute, but it wasn't all about the ladies for him, he wanted to make friends, and if being a clown around people helped with that then so be it.
Sean spotted the tamer as well, and walked over with his digimon. "Greetings, are you our opponent this day good sire?"
Barrenx2 - March 18, 2011 03:09 PM (GMT)
“I recon I am, partner.” Riko added twang to his speech as he tipped his hat, “The name’s Riko. This here’s Illion and Eva.”
The boy tried his best to stay in character and he loved every moment of it. How often did he get to role-play?
“I bet y’all are just a dandy group, and I’m sure we’ll have us a might fine shindig, Mister…” Riko cleared his throat and looked to Sean, “Didn’t catch your name, kid.”
Celticwrath - March 25, 2011 11:56 PM (GMT)
Sean smiled a bit awkwardly at the other boy. He was living this up wasn't he? Sadly his accent contradicted any accent he might try to fake or implement in this situation. Oh well, he would settle for being the one to stick out like a sore thumb, he didn't mind that much. It seemed his destiny to go against whatever trend there was currently going on, in this world or back home. The fact was eh stood obstinate against the tide, not easily taken away.
"Ah, forgive me sire. My name is Sean, I'm afraid I don’t know my last name if you beg my pardon" he said, bowing low and sweeping his hat off his head. This was his customary greeting, for pretty much everyone.
"Hey there mister Riko!" Tyerel piped up, smiling goofily and waving at the boy. "I'm Tyerel, I’m Sean's first partner" he said, gesturing to the Terriermon at Sean's opposite side. "Nice to meet you Riko, Illion, Eva" he said, nodding his head at each one, saving Eva for last. "Hope I don't get you confused with my friend there" he said, winking cheekily at the female terriermon. "Doubt it though, he’s not as cute"
Arrow sorted and rolled his eyes. Typical Tyerel, always after the girls. Though in this case was he really? He could feel the power emulating off of the elecmon, which immediately made him the prime concern. "Arrow" was all he said, staring directly at Illion.
Sean nodded at both of his partners then turned to Riko. "Who goes first then?"
Barrenx2 - March 26, 2011 07:02 PM (GMT)
Riko nodded, unsure what to think about the tamer not having a last name. It's customary on Earth to be given a last name. Was he an amnesiac like Zack? A gust of dry, hot wind slapped his face, reminding him of how uncomfortable he was in this environment. But he just loved the hat.
Eva let herself blush a bit, "I'll bet I can hit you first."
"Pleasure." Illion returned the greeting, tossing his hat to the side. The Elecmon was sure the other Terriermon wasn't as seasoned at killing, but this was strictly a training exercise. He had to remind himself that over and over on the way here.
"I say we let whoever's ready go first." Riko suggested, but before he was content with his remark, Illion dashed forward, paws ready to strike. He made a fist and threw it to Arrow's face.
Taking it as her cue, Eva threw her hat away, spinning rapidly to make a small tornado. She aimed to get Tyerel caught up in it.
Celticwrath - April 4, 2011 05:05 PM (GMT)
Sean was taken by surprise at the suddenness of the attacks, luckily Arrow wasn't. When the Elecmon rushed up for a punch, he span in place, starting off the fight with a Terrier Punch to hopefully deflect, and also damage the attacking Elecmon. "Sorry, I'm not going to make this easy on you by any means!" Arrow said, trying to come across serious and tough.
Tyerel was doing his best to dig his claws and fins into the dirt, but he was slowly being dragged into the small tornado. "Seaaaaaaaaaan, I need a bit of heeeeeeeeeelp!" he cried, being dragged even further into the vortex.
Sean nodded and selected the digimental on his D-Ban, it started to glow and shake. Suddenly the digimental of resilience erupted from it, jetting off towards the Gomamon in danger. It formed a cocoon of data around the seal, beginning to change him and bestow its power and grace upon him.
Gomamon armor digivolve to......Elephantmon!" Tyerel roared, the cocoon of data dispersing to reveal a giant, cybernetic elephant. "My turn" he said, aiming his turbines at the small terriermon. " Nitro turbine wave! " he roared, as the propellers began to spin faster and faster, sending a gale force wind at the smaller tornado.
Sean smiled, not a bad start so far if he did say so himself. He walked over carefully to the other tamer, trying not to get close to the attacks, at the same trying not to appear threatening. "So what’s your story sire? How long have ye been here?"
Barrenx2 - April 5, 2011 11:30 PM (GMT)
Eva felt herself losing balance as she spun. Her attack was being counteracted, but not from a Gomamon. The Elephantmon was a bit stronger than she liked to admit; she frowned and lifted her arm to keep dirt from getting in her eyes. Pushing into the wind, Eva tried to step forward, but she was lifted into the air when her foot left the ground.
The Terreirmon tumbled backward, laying flat to stop from rolling. Green energy converged and released from her mouth, an emerald bullet spiraling toward Tyerel.
Illion thought the spin was odd, and maybe a bit unnecessary along with an impromptu warning. He didn’t need a warning, and there was no room for talk in a battle. All it took was a second to make a mistake and become seriously hurt or worse. The Elecmon chose not to respond as he took the fist to the face, growling as he retaliated. The punch wasn’t too painful, but energizing.
He’d been in one-on-one fights before, and he intended to make this one a learning experience. The only difference was that his feral instincts would be even more help to him here. More tact meant no mercy. He came back with an uppercut, sweeping very low, and rising quickly with a good deal of power behind it.
Riko saw Tyerel’s evolution, but thought nothing of it. The boy was confident in Eva’s abilities, and he was more worried for Arrow than Illion. And then there was Sean. He hadn’t interacted with someone who didn’t want to kill him in a while. What were the odds that it was the case now? He took a risk returning to the city, but the team needed to be put through their paces. He lifted his hat, looking to Sean as he walked over, “A while. Not much to tell though. I’m just trying to get some training in. What about you?”
Celticwrath - April 13, 2011 01:17 AM (GMT)
Tyerel's didn’t move as the ball of energy smacked into his armor plated forehead. It stung as the air gradually stuck, but more or less was dampened by the armor on his head. He aimed his propellers at the ground and this time rose into the air, slowly as a regular helicopter would. While he rose he shot two tusk missiles at the terriermon, one aiming directly at her, the other heading directly behind her, hopefully catching her in the blast with either missile. He was determined to win, he had to, and he was having too much fun so far.
Arrow couldn't avoid the uppercut and was thrown backward powerfully as a result. As expected, this elecmon was powerful, but he was no pushover either! He shot a ball of energy quickly at Ilion, hoping to get a quick recovery against him. He couldn't let things slip away like this.
Sean nodded at the other man’s words and observed the battle. "Aye pretty much the same as ye. Trying to train up a bit before we get going again" he said, giving Riko a small, yet friendly smile. "So I'm guessing you’re experienced in the ways of this world? I have questions if ye can answer."
Barrenx2 - April 27, 2011 09:41 PM (GMT)
Eva gasped at the sight of two missiles closing in rapidly. She spun, creating a small tornado once more. It was the only thing she could think of that didn't involve her being blown up. And it worked. Both missiles were thrown off their course, and being redirected in random directions.
One rocketed upward and exploded when it couldn't go any higher. The second went toward Illion and Arrow, and the Elecmon heard the exhaust. Let the Terriermon's blast soar over his head as he darted straight for his opponent. Leaping, Illion aimed to tackle Arrow out of the way of the missile. The warrior didn't much care if his move was seen as an act of aggression; only caring about how Riko would feel if he didn't act.
"Um, sure. What else do you want to know?" Riko watched his partners as he spoke, "I guess I've been around, but I've been trying to lay low lately. Too much going on."
Celticwrath - July 3, 2011 04:08 PM (GMT)
The giant flying packederm's first attack didn’t hit home, oh well, back to the drawing board. Tyerel only hesitated a moment before going on the offensive, shooting two more missiles at the terriermon, one missile screeching at her, the other moving just slightly behind her. So far she was on the defensive, which was good, he needed to stay on top if he wanted to win this battle. This was his chance to actually win again, win from so many loses at the training fields. He kept moving, flying around, hovering in place when he attacked, and then going again.
This guy just wouldn't let up would he? Arrow found himself suddenly tackled as the missile that had been redirected at them exploded. For just a single moment, the little digimon was thankful, then he was back in the fight. "Thanks for tackling me out of the way of the missile, sorry about this but its till a fight!" he said, shooting a blast of energy at the elecmons face, taking advantage of the elecmon's closeness.
"I've questions about the war in this world, and the sides on the war" Sean said, focusing on his own partners as well. This had been a constant question for those he had encountered in the digital world, for he honestly knew little of the war and its cause. "Whatever you can tell me sire would be appreciated."
Barrenx2 - July 27, 2011 12:28 AM (GMT)
Two more missiles rocketed toward Eva as she emerged from her spin, rolling as she hit the ground. The missiles exploded on the ground as she rolled, caused her to body to be thrown even further. Landing hard, she slowly picked herself back up and turned her attention to Illion, who had been blasted at point blank range. He'd been launched away from Arrow, landing not too far from her.
Eva coughed as she tiredly waved for him, "How's it going?"
His face blackened, the Elecmon growled as he felt the sting, "What do you think?"
The Terriermon stood, her knees a bit wobbly, but she made it to her feet just fine. Tyerel had a huge advantage in size and position, which made her sigh as she wasn't sure how to match it. She'd have to match him, and she said so as she looked to her tamer.
Through his D-Ban, Riko pulled up the Digimental of Chivalry, selecting Eva as its target user. She felt the power almost immediately as her form grew and shifted. With her armor form fully realized, the Gargomon flapped her angel-like wings and took to the sky.
Her special talent manifested as she summoned a black, replica of an Angemon. The statue glided as it rose with Eva, following her whims. They split; the statue went straight for Tyerel, launching a beam of light energy toward him. Eva swung around, looking to catch his blind side.
Illion, on the other hand, was still content with how the fight was going, rushing back to face Arrow on all fours. His tail sparked, sending blades of electricity at his foe.
---------
"The war?" Riko was a bit confused, "Can't really look to pick sides, bud. By all rights and purposes, humans shouldn't be here. This isn't our war."
Sighing as he remember the last mercenary that came for him. The Machinedramon could have torn them apart if Lexi wasn't there to help. Hopefully, this kid wouldn't be affected too badly by this conflict, but Riko knew better. There are too many things going on, too many moving pieces on the board, that Sean would be hurt at some point.
Riko didn't think it'd be so bad to tell Sean what he'd be in for, but he had to be direct, "Insomnia is the queen bee. My guess is that she's trying to dominate the Digital World for herself, but I don't know much else about her. Apparently, there's a bunch of guys resisting her rule. I ran into one of them, a Kuzuhamon, and she told me that we'd all need to come together to fight for our freedom."
"I've developed some powers along the way, and I've been trying to figure out what's happening, but it's hard. I want to help, but it seems so big." Riko looked at the battle and tried not to think to hard on it.
"Don't forget to mention that you've got a bounty on your head!" Mayer shouted from his chair on the porch of the saloon.
Riko looked at the Agumon, fire in his eyes suggested he wasn't ready to mention that part yet. Turning back to Sean, he nodded, "There's that too. An old friend of mine wants me dead."
Embarrassed, the boy looked away.
Celticwrath - October 16, 2011 02:22 AM (GMT)
Tyerel hovered, waiting for his opponent to make her move. Unfortunately, her move involved her armor evolving and taking to the skies...with a friend. Moving quickly he avoided the statues beam of light only to fly face to face with Eva. "Woah!" he said, turning his propellers toward Eva and using a nitro turbine wave attack to blow her away. The force of the sudden blast also threw him back a bit.
Of course this meant he was no longer propelling himself upward, so he fell downward, blowing himself away from the gargomon.
Arrow did a small spin, forming the small tornado, sending it ahead to intercept the blades of electricity and slam into Illion. Some deflected while the other few streaked and hit home, making his fur fizz and stand on end.
Sean listened to Riko with interest, letting the information process in his brain and figure out how to respond to it in turn. "That names crossed my path a couple times" he said, scratching his chin in thought. So it was your standard type of conflict? one side vs the other? Sean was fine with that, he sort of preferred fights like that. Things went much smother like that usually.
"A bounty ya say? Well ser you sound like quite the busy body" he said, chuckling. "Who knows I might outdo ye by the time things roll around" he said, flashing him a cheeky smile.
