Hello, felow viewers, and welsome to the introduction into Monster Hunter.

This thread is mainly for pictures, art, signatures, and whatnot, but also a discussion thread for any of you who are either familiar with the series, interested in the series, or merely like the Wyverns. xD

First some pictures, then an explanation.

For those who haven't seen one, that's a Rathalos. The hunter below is you. Fight it!

user posted image
This is a Diablos. Depending on how far you are in the game, this thing can be really large.

user posted image
And this is a Tigrex from Monster Hunter Freedom 2. I haven't fought one, but I heard that, in the Desert area, they can reach top ground running speeds of above 90 MPH...

The reason I put these here is because my facination ran wild finally, and I wanted to share. Look at these or not, as I will keep adding, and if there are any questions I will be happy to answer them.

At the request of Koen, here are the "Black Wyverns" of MH.

user posted image
One of the largest Wyverns you will fight. B.Gravios is a stronger version of its normal gray color, and it has the hardest armor and most destructive weapons. Don't stand in front of it, or you will get caught in its Fire Beam!

user posted image
If you are standing in front of this Wyvern when it looks like this, then you are DEAD. Black Diablos is huge, so huge you can only really attack its legs.

user posted image
Ashen Lao Shan Lung.... THE largest Wyvern and in the Elder Dragon class of Wyverns, not to mention being a G Class Wyvern (the highest rank) You attack his toes, that's the reach a sword gives you (and mind you, the swords in this game have a LONG reach). Unless you hop onto his back fro mabove, you have to attack his legs or his drooping belly, and it takes the entire 50 minutes of time ot do so... Truly a foe.

user posted image

Here's a reference chart of sizes. You can see the Hunter near the bottom, as well as some non-wyvern enemies. The tallest one? That's NORMAL Lao Shan Lung. Then you have Azure LAo Shan and finally Ashen Lao Shan... Some monsters are not shown on here. Without Online capability, you have to kill Lao Shan Lung ALONE withng 50 minutes.

Finally, The Legendary Black Dragon, Fatalis.

user posted image
Not as big as Lao Shan, but you have to fight this sucker through SIX quests, each 50 minutes long. That's right, it takes nearly the whole time ot do it too.

Power, speed, flight, a roar that makes your hunter quiver, any attack drops you down to shreds. What hope is there? Dragon element weapons and Dragon resistant armor! Huzzah!

user posted image
...Then there is Crimson Fatalis... even worse, and you only get 30 minutes ot kill it in a VERY small arena.

user posted imageuser posted image
Then finally... White Fatalis... the third and strongest of its kin, becase it is the most ancient Elder Dragon, besides Lao Shan Lung. The red lightning on the right is wht you're odging most of the fight.. besides firebals of course.

alright. My depresion over the lost wapons from MH3 is vanishing now, and I miht still buy it on account of it being a brand new game. I can see where they would have wanted to remve some weapons now... okay not really. ^^;

Aaannnnyways, here's a video of MH3's intro: MH3 Intro

I absolutely love the music. It's a step upfm the tradiional theme song. All those monsters are brand new except for maybe three of them.

A Brand New Size Chart! WHOO!

Careful, this image is HUGE.

Also, a small introduction to the new Season of Monster Hunter Frontier Online! This game is awsome... but only available for Japan, China, and Korea right no :<=(:

Althouh noone probalby cares, here's the latest news. Pics of new monsters coming later.

Monster Hunter 3/Tri scheduled for American release this year or next. That makes me happy, especially since Capcom has a knack of adding in extra things sometimes. The Wii release is gonna be one heck of a good game, I'm sure.

What really tickles me is that they are making another game for the PSP. Monster Hunter Freedom 3, the fourth game of the series, will include, sadly, less then the game before or so I hear, but feature more missions and the new Slash Axe wihout takink away any of the classic weapons. It's gonna be fantastic. ^^

Another update:

Look! It's a Gobul! This thing is uuuglllly... and I have to fight it next!

user posted image

I'm so proud ot say that I sucessfully took on two of these things at once, cutting their tails and breaking their faces! ^^ I wish I could take video, but I will settle for the memories.

user posted image

Barroths are insanely hard to kill. They never stop charging! Even when they do, they sling mud at you and smack you around. >.> I can stll down one in 30 minutes...

user posted image

One of my all-time favorite wyverns to go up against, though I haven't fought it yet xD It's massive, bigger then Lao Shan Lung and Shen Gaoren but smaller then Raviente technically. You can even climb onto his back and mine for ores! You fight him while sand sailing... awesomeness @.@

user posted image

The most powerful boss monster ever! Almost the size of Lao Shan and packing FIVE elements! He can control fire, water, ice, lightning, and draon elements, all with their dangerous effects. I soooo want to fight him, but i'm HR 13 and he's a HR 50 quest...

Zander Steele - September 25, 2010 03:19 AM (GMT)
After a successful Online session where I didn't disconnect, I kicked a Lagiacrus' ass all over the Flooded Forest! Well, not just me, but three more Hunters were o nthe quest too. The Lagia (the thing in my ava) is usually impossibly difficult while i nthe water, which is what most of the Flooded Forest consists of. We did it though, me with my Longsword full of Spirit Charging goodness ^^ *boasting cause he feels good*

Remember, Newbie Hunters, bring both types of traps, cause Lagia is much easier on land when stuck in a Pitfall ^^ He won't miss those horns of his.

There's only two monsters I've yet to slay in MHT, and I am itching to get to HR 50 and finish my roster. anyways some updates:

Monster Hunter Freedom 3 is gonna be epic and awesome just like Tri, so long as they keep the updates to the battle systems. Not only will it have all of the old monsterrs (maybe, including or excluding the Elder Dragons), but it's gonna have all of the new ones, PLUS even more monsters! My only let down was that Frontier is STILL keeping it's custom monster roster to itself, cause there are some badass creatures there, my friends.

OMG! Evil Joe!! XD

This is teh Deviljho, by far the toughest creature I've faced so far, and this is before Alatreon! He pops into an area randomly from ANY high rank quest, easily the largest thing in the area no matter what other wyvern is there, and it's roar is powerful enough to cripple even other monsters. Then, it proceeds to stomp your weak squishy parts into the ground. Even experienced hunters usually just run away from Jho because of its sheer tenacity when attacking. The great thing is it gets exausted easily ^^

And so once again, my shivering, uncontrollable bursts of MH cravings come back to me!

Folks, this game is not just another hack n' slash action/adventure game. It's an entire genre of its own!

The surge of giddyness as you cut your first Rathian's tail clean off, the burst of adrenaline when your hammer shatters BOTH of a Diablos' horns at once for the first time. The feeling of accomplishment as you stare down a Deviljho easily ten or more times your size while your fellow hunters run for cover, just so you can paintball your current target to ensure a smooth, clean hunt. That's the things you experience here. It's hard to describe unless you can esperience it yourself, folks.

There's a whole world of monsters to hunt out there, and new things to discover. Always remember to bring the right equipment for the job. If you're a Blademaster, never forget your trusty whetstones. If you are a Gunner, then bring plenty of ammo. Hot Drinks for cold places, Cold Drinks for hot places. Bombs of all sizes, and Flutes to boost your skills. Got a strong party? make it stronger with a Demon Horn!

Bring the Potions, bring the Mega Potions, Bring Pickaxes and Bugnets, bring HArpoons and Traps, bring Paintballs and Rations. Never forget that for every situation, there is a way out of it.
