Title: Furunii vs Bael
Ryuha - October 15, 2007 12:34 AM (GMT)
The concrete floor below, the blue sky above, the spectators roaring in the stands. all of this patiently awaited the arrival of Koenjinn and Zander, along with their partners.
ZanderSteele - October 15, 2007 12:45 AM (GMT)
Zander came out to the crowd with his partners for the second time in a short while, but this time it was Bael's turn to show what he had.
"Oh man! I'm gonna flatten my opponent all quick-like ya'know?" BAel said enthusiastically, looking up ot the scoreboard to see himself next to a Renamon, "A speedy Digimon deserves a speedy opponent."
"You're quite right, Bael" Zander replied as they took center stage. Bale waved to the crowd and gave them thumbs ups all around, "OH yeah! They are gonna love me after this!"
"He seems to like being watched as he fights.." Koro said, the Kapurimon resting on Zander's shoulder.
"Sure does, but maybe it will keep him focused on the fight this time."
They waited for their opponent with a mixture of anticipation, nervousness, and curiousness.
Koenjinn - October 15, 2007 02:02 AM (GMT)
Furunii grinned. Although he was grinning on the outside, actually, he was rather nervous. This was his first time battling against Zander and Bael, a pairing that he had never battled before. This was going to be interesting. The Renamon cracked his knuckles and tensed. Things would be difficult, for they were battling an Impmon, a creature that they had a loss with.
You see, Bael had both strength and speed, while Furunii had only speed and good senses. As Koen and her partner neared the stage, they saw the Impmon and his Tamer in center stage, with the imp waving towards the roaring spectators. "Okay..." Koen muttered nervously, "We have here another confident pairing, which would heavily hamper us."
Furunii shrugged; he did not know how Zander battled, and neither did he know how a Impmon functioned. Hopefully he wouldn't evolve and just...gain the upper hand over him. The Renamon hadn't figured out how to evolve without relying on an object. All he got was Prairiemon, but Koen wasn't allowing him to use that form just yet. "Hello!" He said, aiming that statement at the trio. "I guess...my opponent will be the Impmon?" Furunii guessed.
Koen nodded in agreement. Her hand tightened on the deck in her pocket. Earphones that were beeping with music hung limply by the sides of her shoulder. The girl then raised an earphone to her ears, and listened to the music, which had a rather calming effect on her.
ZanderSteele - October 15, 2007 02:24 AM (GMT)
Zander watched the girl and her Renamon enter the arena with a smirk. He looked down to Bael, who was smirking just as widely as he was.
"Hey there" replied Zander when the other tamer spoke, "The name's Zander Steele, and yes you will be facing Bael today."
Bael stepped forward and gave Furunii a thumbs up, "How ya doin eh?" he said, his confident smirk widening into an even more confident grin, "Hope ya ready, cause I'm feelin full'a energy today!" Bael kept grinning as he hopped around and punched the air a few times, prepping himself for a good fight. Even through his confident exterior, he glowed with an anxious anticipation of fighting an opponent he has never fought before.
Zander took a step back and withdrew his deck from his pocket, shuffling them well before saying, "So, who shall start this battle?"
Koenjinn - October 15, 2007 03:47 AM (GMT)
"Hi!" Koen replied, smiling at the other boy as well as Bael and Koro. "I'm Koenjinn Igarashi, but you can just call me Koen. I don't mind." The girl laughed slightly, before nodding towards Furunii. "Then...I don't think I have a choice for partners, so you'll be facing Furu-kun." Koen then said with a slightly more serious note, "Don't mind him though, he's full of hot air."
Furunii seemed rather taken aback by the thumbs up. The Renamon then mumbled something under his breath, before waving sheepishly. "Hey..." He said, blinking rapidly and shooting dead nervous glances at Koen. Taking in a deep breath, the vulpine then said, "Of course I am ready. Do you think I'd be here if I weren't?" Furunii then grinned.
The Renamon then saw the imp punch the air several times, and wished whimsically that he could do so without making a fool out of himself. Furunii then cracked his knuckles one last time, before sighing aloud, "I don't think it'd be fair facing Koen with a full deck like yours..." His sharp eyes surveyed the deck, before muttering to his Tamer via the corner of his mouth, "His deck...seriously, it's like, wow! I think he has at least thirty cards in his arsenal."
"We could just flip a coin." Koen suggested, not wanting to know the outcome of this rather lopsided battle. She then replied her partner softly, "His full deck compared to mine, I think if we play our cards right, the battle is ours. Remember: You fight with your abilities, and not with your cards. By the way, cards sap at your precious energies." The girl then nodded, and took out her hand of cards, comparing them to Zander's before pushing them back into her pocket.
ZanderSteele - October 16, 2007 02:18 AM (GMT)
A grin set on Zander's face as he watched Bael, "Guess he's as ready as he'll ever be." Zander stopped shuffling his deck.
He heard the comments about the differences in quantity of cards and said, "If you prefer for me to lessen the amount of cards I use then I will, but I agree with you that it is skill and tactics that win a battle, not cards.
Bael nodded and started stretching, "Yeah, but cards can give ya a kick right when ya need it." he popped his neck slowly then smirked up at the other tamer and Digimon, "I hope ya don't mind if I take the lead in this battle." Bael said before smal lblack fireballs materialized on the fingertips of his right hand. He pulled his arm back and flung them at the Renamon with a cry of "Night of Fire!" then took off running towards the left side of the arena.
Zander watched as the battle started, hoping that Bael didn't get too overconfident i nthis battle, as he had done with previous ones.
Koenjinn - October 16, 2007 02:35 AM (GMT)
Koen shrugged. She just had to win this battle and prove her point. "I do not mind..." She said, smiling weakly, "Just don't go overboard, for it will turn around and harm your partner in return." The girl then nodded to her partner as she noticed Bael forming small balls of fire on his fingertips. "Well then! Combat now begins." Koenjinn stated, before motioning for her Renamon to battle.
Furunii sighed. A speedy opponent was just the thing that they needed. The Renamon then jumped into the air, body facing the Impmon and yelled, "Koyousetsu!" Glittering shards emerged from the X formation that his hands formed. The storm of diamonds canceled out the fireballs with a slight implosion, before the remaining ones homed in on Bael, pelting the area where he should be next.
The Renamon made a landing at his starting point. He had made no move to near the Impmon, for he did not know his physical prowess that well; and a wrong step will result in injury that would slow him down. He then decided to trade blows with the vile imp for a moment to see his responds before striking with a Touhakken.
ZanderSteele - October 16, 2007 03:00 AM (GMT)
Bael took a glance behind him and cursed when he saw his fireballs negated, but he should have expected that from someone with as good a long range skills as himself. He dove and rolled to avoid most of the shards, taking a few in the back with a minor grunt of pain. When he next stood he smirked and said, "Guess I should take this match seriously."
Zander almost sighed. He had figured that Bael would not take the opponent seriously to start with, or was this his way of copying Koro's tactics?
Bael ran forward towards the Renamon with his fists clenched. He couldn't do much to intimidate a taller opponent on his own, but he cut to the right when he got closer and flung another trio of fireballs at Fufunii, keeping his movements in an unpredictable fashion to try and keep his opponent off guard.
Koenjinn - October 16, 2007 03:19 AM (GMT)
"You should." Furunii replied Bael calmly as he began to move away from Koen so that she wouldn't be hurt. He then saw Zander's partner approaching him with fists clenched. But with such a tricky and slippery foe as an Impmon, the Renamon knew better than to underestimate him. Suddenly the imp swerved to the right.
Three fireballs zipped towards the fox, but he was rather prepared with one of his recently favoured move. "Touhakken." He stated with a small smirk as flames engulfed his body, thus reducing the damage taken, for fire negated fire in a clashing of elements. With a slight clearing of his throat, Furunii rushed towards the nimble imp.
His clawed arm lashed out in a rapid punch, before he flipped backwards with a somersault kick. As he landed, the flames on his body dissipated to reveal more shards. Furunii felt that the only way to defeat this opponent was to keep dealing damage, bit by bit, because then it will add up.
He stood, kneeling as he looked at the shards storming the tournament area with superior agility. Furunii then whispered the attack's name, "Koyousetsu..." There was another of his move that he did not want to use yet, at least, not this early into the fight.
ZanderSteele - October 17, 2007 01:29 AM (GMT)
Zander sighed at the battle, "Looks like Bael just isn't fast enough for this one.." he said quietly to Koro, who nodded his agreement.
Bael saw the attack coming, and thanks to his zig-zagging movement he was able to barely lean out of the way of the punch, then bring his right arm up to block the kick. Seeing that it wasn't good to be in suhc close range at the moment he allowed the force of the kick to knock him backwards, catching himself on his hands and handspringing up into the air away from the Renamon. the contact was stinging but not deadly, being a wielder of fire himself.
During midflight he watched as shards emerged from the flames the Renamon was covered with. He remembered the tactic the Renamon used against him and smirked, crossing his arms and creating flames on all six fingers before flinging them at the shards. With his hands now outstretched he balanced himself and landed on his feet before backtracking as much as possible.
The fireballs collided with the shards and created explosions in their wake, negating all but a few of the shards coming Bael's direction. He shielded himself from the rest and took minor cuts.
"Bael. He's faster than you, so here's an upgrade." Zander said. He hated using cards this early, but Bael needed the boost. Withdrawing two cards from his deck he slashed them one at a time across the slot in his D-ban without sayign another word.
Bael instantly felt a new power rise up in his muscles, and a piece of beef appeared n his hand. He quickly consumed the meat and felt another rush to his muscles, like a powering up effect. He felt the stinging from the cuts and burns go away slightly and smirked, crouching low and tensing up his legs, "Get ready for this... ReadySetGo!" He called quickly, disappearing in a flash towards the Renamon at the same speeds he could normally use. He got as close as he could and hopped upwards, turning and attempting to land a flying roundhouse straight into Furunii's head. He was hoping that the speed boost would surprise him, and possibly the little surprise in his kick as well.

Koenjinn - October 17, 2007 04:09 AM (GMT)
OOC: Barely dodging things?
IC:
The piece of beef...too large a giveaway. Furunii knew that the meat had some hidden effect to it, but couldn't place a pin on what it was. Anyways, the Renamon threw his arms up in an X formation for defense against the roundhouse kick. The kick thrust against the sturdy armguards, which did nothing more than graze them mildly. Furunii grinned. The Impmon was so close to him...so close...
"Koyousetsu!" He thundered, and shards sprang to life around the X formation that his arms formed. They hailed towards Bael rapidly at close range. He knew that the Impmon was quick on his feet, after two cards in a row, and especially a stat boosting card, Bael will not be the Impmon that began this fight. This called for some more planning on his strategy.
He kicked in his invisibility, before teleporting to the other end of the battlefield. Even if Fox Power allowed a digimon to gain the agility and speed of a Renamon temporarily, it did not give it the power to teleport. "Hello!" Furunii said, before moving around the battlefield, still shrouded by his invisibility. His voice echoed all over the pitch, to the delight of the roaring spectators.
"Now you see me, now you don't!"
ZanderSteele - October 17, 2007 10:59 AM (GMT)
OOC: Bael has been running around this whole battle, and he is fighting a fast opponent.
IC: Bael kicked off from Fufunii's armguards as the shards appeared, trying to get as far away from the mand take as little damage as possible. He managed to get to the ground and hop out of most of the barrage, but took hits all the same.
After brushing those off he smirked, searching for his opponent. "You can't hide forever!"
Bael rose into the air slightly as he concentrated, a ball of heat and fire collecting in his left hand while a ball of cold and ice collected in the other. He focused on the spinning motion of these two spheres as he said, "Summon!"
Zander tried to keep track of the fox, finally giving up on that tactic and saying, "Don't move!" as he slashed a third card for his Digimon.
Bael looked to where the Renamon was hopefully immobilized for a little bit and combined the two spheres in his hands, the forces colliding and becoming stronger as he raised it over his head and fired it at the Renamon, the orb becomeing stronger and bigger as it flew towards him.

Name: Twilight Timer
Number: C39
Type: Single Target
Duration: 1 Turn
Effect: Completely immobilises one opponent Digimon for a single turn.
Koenjinn - October 17, 2007 12:52 PM (GMT)
OOC: Rather unrealistic, don't you think? Anyhow, a short post. But I like it better than my usual ones.
IC:
Furunii guffawed inaudibly, as he viewed the ice and fire hurtle towards somewhere random. It wasn't in the least close with where he was, which surprised the Renamon mildly. If Bael had the speed and agility of a Renamon, it would make sense for him to have increased senses too. Right? Right...Furunii was unable to move for the time being, but it didn't stop him from trailing the Impmon's movements.
Koenjinn did not know what was happening. All she knew was that a command of "Don't move!" from Zander would bring no effect on the Renamon. She too didn't know where the partner was now, so she could only assume that Furunii was still moving. If he was moving, he'd better be moving quick...or else. Barrages of dancing flames coupled with steely icicles weren't a prime choice to be wounded by.
ZanderSteele - October 17, 2007 10:42 PM (GMT)
Bael narrowed his eyes and slowed his breathing, trying to figure out where the fox may be hiding, "Got to think, c'mon Bael you're better then this..."
Zander would naturally want to help his friend out more, but he refused ot use so many cards i nsuch a short amount of time, especially when Bael really didn't need them.
Bael closed his eyes and thought for a moment, risking the chance of an attack. He finally got his breathing back to normal and listened, hoping ot hear some trace of an attack. It was a tactic Zander had taught both him and Koro, but he preferred a frontal attack. No attack would help him if he couldn't see his opponent though, so he might as wel ltry it Zander's way.
Through the roar of the crowd it would be hard to hear, but Bael flexed his gloved hand slowly, ready to spring away from danger if he needed. He opened his eyes and waited, half defensively, for something to happen.
Koenjinn - October 18, 2007 01:53 AM (GMT)
Furunii knew that the Impmon couldn't see where he was yet, unless he had the aid of a card. Bael had closed his eyes, and repeated the movement of clenching and releasing his gloved hand. The Renamon then decided to take the advantage of his situation and blast Bael with attacks -- but wait. Usually, in this condition, the foe would be prepared for a counter attack and perhaps, even turn the tables on him. No, that wasn't a situation to risk.
A blast of shards whirred towards Bael, but the Renamon had began to move, still cloaked in his invisibility. The solid ground of the battlefield seemed to cause the sound of his walking to ricochet off it...maybe Furunii was just overly cautious. Another hail of shards hurtled towards the Impmon's surroundings. A swarm of leaves then shot towards the imp again, before the fox moved places. He did not want to reveal himself, and at the same time, keep Bael occupied.
ZanderSteele - October 18, 2007 02:32 AM (GMT)
Bael caught the shards coming at him, but before he could move he heard Zander say, "Don't move!" again and realized that Zander was telling him not to move, not Furunii.
The shards came at him, but got deflected as BAel stood, his mouth open for a second. Another wave of shards came at him, but also got deflected.
Bael didn't know what was going on at first, but apparently this was working in his favor. he smirked and watched as Furunii's attacks got knocked away from him as if they were never there.
Zander had a card in his hand, and it was obvious that he had just set up one hell of a defense for Bael, "It's a temporary solution... but maybe this will also help..." he said, finding a nother card and slashing it as well.
Bael felt odd and looked down to a light that had surrounded his gloves. He watched his gloves change and mold onto his arms, changing into a pair of metal devices, three claw-like appendaged at the end of each new "hand" worked just like Bael's normal hands.
Bael also felt that he seemed to have new attacks in his arsenal and raised his claws into the air, the hole in the center of each opening as he called out, "Genocide Gear!" and began firing a rain of missiles fro meach claw, aiming them at random places on the battlefield without intentionally aiming close to either tamer.
Zander made his decision and put his cards in his pocket. Only in dire emergency would he use another card. Bael woudl likely suffer from these effects if he was forced under too much pressure. The only way Zan would use another card would be to counter any measure taken by the other tamer to stop Bael.

Koenjinn - October 18, 2007 06:55 AM (GMT)
Attacking was moving. Moving lowers the shield. Furunii seized the chance, and drawing in on his immense speed, rushed towards the trigger happy Impmon. He was careful to approach from the back, just in case the shield was still in effect. Shards of his Koyousetsu attack formed, but they were partially clouded by the sun's rays. The sun was located behind Furunii, so if one were to look towards the shards, they had to sun to answer to.
A missile flew towards the fox, and he jumped into the air, allowing the missile to pass under his legs. A faint glow of green issued from his crossed arms, before the shards stormed the battlefield. Landing, Furunii knew that the missiles posed a hazard to both him and Koen, so he hurriedly moved over to that position, careful to avoid some missiles.
However, there weren't that much missiles to dodge, for Bael was really firing them in random directions. Furunii touched Koen's shoulder, whispered to her telling that she shouldn't move and act as normal, before moving her towards a safer spot so that she was out of harm's way. Koenjinn was now somewhere around Zander with a certain radius.
Furunii hoped that Koen wouldn't turn into a meat shield, and moved away again, slower this time so as to conserve energy.
ZanderSteele - October 18, 2007 10:39 AM (GMT)
Zander was forced to watch the missile storm hitting everything but the Renamon, but he was confident in Bael. He secretly thought that Bael was more focused on showing off for the crowd then winning the fight.
Bael stopped his barrage when he was hit from behind by shards, but thankfully he managed not to wince from pain until after the shield had blocked the rest of the shards. He kneeled and stayed in one place for a moment, deciding on his next action.
He would normally call someone who stayed invisible and attacked from secret a coward, but there happened to be a large crown watching them and it gave him a sense to try and overcome the challenge.
Zander wanted to help his friend so badly that he found his hand resting on the cards in his pocket more than once. He watched as Koen. was relocated closer to him and said, "What sneaky Ranemon you have. I would say he has the upper hand if I didn't know Bael better."
Koenjinn - October 18, 2007 11:06 AM (GMT)
"Really?" Koen asked in response to Zander's statement, "I don't think Furu-kun's sneaky. You're the sneaky one." She then continued, "Giving your partner a shield and a claws larger than his normal arms. I'm surprised that Bael's been able to control a Perfect leveled weapon with amazing ease." The girl then blinked. "By the way, Bael's random firing made me feel like a standing log, so I'll just move beside you. That way, he'll just fire randomly if he wants you to get hurt."
Furunii shook his head. As long as Bael did not move, the battle was left hanging. He continued to stand, facing the Impmon's back and kept focusing on the wounds that graced his back. Now, he faced the problem of getting the imp to aggravate the wounds and have some pain coursing through his body.
"Anyhow..." Koenjinn said, "...Bael's only being able to hold up because of the shield you gave him." The girl then grinned as she locked eyes with the ambidextrous boy. "No offense though, its just how I see things." The female Tamer laughed, her eyes closing and turning into an arch as if it were in an anime.
ZanderSteele - October 18, 2007 10:39 PM (GMT)
You're quite right." Zander replied to the girl, "This is not one of Bael's more favorable battles." Zander contemplated the situation, "Those new arms of his are powered down to suit Bael, but I'm willing to bet they are still heavy. That is, however, how I like to train my partners to fight. I want them to be able to handle unfavorable circumstances with any equipment they might have."
Bael moved only a little, turning to see the battlefield. It wasn't enout to trigger the shield to go down, but it let him try and find his opponent. He could hear people in the crowd start to get annoyed by the sudden lack of fighting. They had come to see action.
"I do believe it is time for me to try and change the battle a little, although this will be a risky tactic." Zander said, pulling from his belt a small stack of cards he had told himself he wouldn't use unless he needed to try and shake things up a bit, "Convulsion of Nature..." he said, slashing a single card and watching cautionsly for the effects to take hold. This could either help Bael by revealing his opponent, hinder him by throwing of his shield, or not do anything at all. It was a very risky tactic indeed.
"Prepare yourself..." Zander said to Koenjinn, "I don't know what will happen..."

Ryuha - October 18, 2007 10:57 PM (GMT)
((I might as well handle the Convulsion of Nature. This is my big fancy tournament after all.))
Spectators in the fans screamed and ran for the exits as the ground below began to shake wildly. The more die-hard fans stuck around though, unconcerned as the sturdy stadium withstood the...
EARTHQUAKE
((Okay, that was cheesy.))
Koenjinn - October 20, 2007 01:50 AM (GMT)
OOC: Actually, only the attacks are powered down, but the size isn't. I believe you should know, because you're in
the thread itself. Then again, I might be wrong, haha.
IC:
The tremors shook the ground violently, sending spectators running away, leaving only the hardcore to see more action. Furunii was sent sprawling to the ground, where data chipped off him, revealing the body of a Renamon that was littered with grazes. He was now behind Bael, with shards forming behind the fox, ready to fire at the imp once he turned around to attack. If he didn't, well, it was gonna end in a stalemate.
Koen fell to her knees, and tried to pick herself up. She wasn't that braced for a tremor that grows into a fully fledged earthquake like this one. Koenjinn then brushed herself off and picked herself up. "Sorry!" She apologized hastily, before standing up and running a card through her D-Ban.
Again, that was the card with no apparent effect just yet.
ZanderSteele - October 20, 2007 01:53 AM (GMT)
((That's why I added that they were still heavy. I also need to know what card you slashed))
Koenjinn - October 20, 2007 02:00 AM (GMT)
OOC: There's no effect yet, haha. So I'm not posting it yet. I'll post it when the effect comes.
ZanderSteele - October 20, 2007 02:19 AM (GMT)
Zander lost his balance and crouched when he felt the tremor. He had thought that he might get lucky and get a thunderstorm or something, but ot no avail.
"Take to the skies, Bael!" Zander said, holding up his D-ban as if slashed with light.
Bael tried not to move, but the shaking earth beneath him caused him to trip. HE then felt the power grow within him and was surrounded by light, leaping into the air as best as he could with the earthquake happening as he said, "Impmon evolve to..."
Then the light faded, there was a tall, black clothed figure with horns on his head in replace of the imp, "Devimon!" Bael called out his new form, flapping his new wings and staying off the ground. HE found that he still had his Gigadramon arms, which would be an advantage and a disadvantage.
He turned wround as he flew upwards, spotting the Renamo nat last. HE saw that Furunii was ready to strike and reacted quickly, openign the claw-like hands and yelling, "Genocide Gear!" as he rained missiles down at the Renamon from above.
Koenjinn - October 20, 2007 02:37 AM (GMT)
This time, if Bael were to stay airborne, he would have to keep flapping, which brought to the conclusion that the shield was rendered unusable for now. Anyhow, the Gigadramon claws still were heavy, for they were a Perfect weapon. Furunii roared, sending the shards and rolled aside, before getting hit by about three of the missiles on his hands.
"Cards Slash! Fly-Trap!" Koen called out, slashing the card and awaited its effects on Bael. That way, his defense in flying would be voided.
-------
Name: Fly-Trap
Number: C13
Type: Single Target
Duration: Remainder of the battle
Effect: Renders one opponent Digimon incapable of flight (whether the flight ability is natural or through the effects of a card).
-------
"Koyousetsu!" Furunii called, sending one of his shards towards Bael, to the point of where he would fall. After all, the shield's weakness was for him to exploit.
ZanderSteele - October 20, 2007 02:50 AM (GMT)
Bael swatted at the shards with his metallic claws, managing to knock a large percentage away before feeling his mode of flight wither on his back. H egot pelted by the remaining shards before beginning to fall.
As he fell, he saw Zander moving quickly, retrieving his main deck from his pocket and slashing a card to counter Koen's, "Driving Snow, activate!"
Bael felt his wings restored and dived under another shard that was sent at him, moving in high speeds towards the Renamon before pulling back up and opening fire with another barrage of missiles. Through the group of missiles fire, a few were aimed specifically at Furunii's legs.

Koenjinn - October 20, 2007 01:50 PM (GMT)
OOC: How many are you using?
IC:
They impacted, oh, the horror! However, upon contact, they burst into leaves of an assortment comprising of brown and green. Wisps of smoke rose where the missiles hit, and there he was, the sly fox, jumping into the air before splitting right into two just before the devil's eyes.
One to the left, and one to the right. There they go, and ready to fight! Alright, so that was a little corny, but it carried the message across. Furunii #1 headed to the right, while his doppleganger took to the other direction. Together they conjured shards of a rather acceptable amount, and directed them towards Bael.
"Koyousetsu." The duo chanted, before bursting into flames and jumping into the air, right where the Devimon was. They hoped to catch him in a clamping formation, and if luck permitted, send them all hurtling towards the ground. "Touhakken." One said, the other echoed the statement.
Together the charged, paws or fists extended, ready to strike with the punches. This time, the Devimon was no longer with fire, but he was with darkness. A Renamon's attacks were more or less to the side of light, but the fox itself was dark...a rather contradicting combination, don't you think?
ZanderSteele - October 21, 2007 01:17 AM (GMT)
((Just one, like my post says. Next time I would use the description without a X modifier))
Zander saw his chance the moment Furunii started his dual attack, slashing a card he had never used before, "Mystical Reflector!"
Bael could see no way out of the situation. He was carying tow heavy arms, flying in between two energy shard barrages, and he was beginning to get tired of the relentless attacks and card use.
He saw an aura come around him just before the shards got to him, making them stop and shoot back towards the Renamon that fired them, but they also seemed to be bigger. He hoped that the fact that the two Furunii's had dived in for an attack would make them unprepared for the barrage ot be sent back. Just for good measure, Bael lifted an arm to each side, firing a barrage of missiels at each Renamon.
Zander saw the time to give Bael a rest, so he slashed a card of a smaller rarity and put his cards up, now sure that he would make Bael tired.
Bael flew towards the ground and crouched, landing just before a box of light encased him. It was unplanned, but helpful. Bael panted as he rested his wings and recovered from the battle slightly.

There was no way a punch attack could be reflected to the extent of Furunii punching himself. But the shards were exempted from the oddities, and they hurled themselves towards the two Renamon with more agility and power than before. Renamon #1 opened his eyes wide as the missiles hit him, together with the shards. He began to collapse to the ground, body melting into a pool of smoke...and leaves.
Meanwhile, Renamon #2 moved swiftly, right arm clutching the left one. The pain of the reflected attack was a little too harming for his likes, but the Renamon wasn't giving up. He then moved towards Bael's back, knowing that if the Devimon was still like this, the shield would rise again. He had to stop him from staying still. Furunii opened his mouth, but hastily closed it again. What should he say...?
"Hey!" Furunii called out, "Those weapons are heavy. You wouldn't be able to fly nicely and dodge my attacks properly. Heck, I don't even think that you can float up to defend against my rapid fire!" The Renamon was taunting the devil, no doubt, but the words were just spewing out without much contemplation. Such was the vulpine's mouth. "Try and show me, and perhaps I would change my mind!"
Koen frowned. Furunii wasn't one to adopt a talking strategy, but this foe was something else. Desperate times call for desperate measures, and that was how the saying goes. A few points was deducted from Zander, but it was mainly because of his unfair fighting. Hey, the boy had slashed multiple cards, evolved his Digimon. But then again, perhaps the girl was a little wary of other Tamers, especially one who fought relentlessly without care for his partner.
ZanderSteele - October 21, 2007 04:31 AM (GMT)
Bael crouched low in his cube as he listened to the Renamon taunt. His teeth were so gritted together that it was a wonder that he wasn't filind them down as he grinded them, "You keep talkin' and maybe I will!" BAel retorted, but he knew this cube would's allow him anywhere unless it was broken by something with a bit more kick then he currently had.
"Bael, calm donw and focus on regaining some strength..." Zander replied to Bael's retorts, trying to keep the Devimon from doing anything he would later regret.
Bael panted and cenched his teeth more, trying to fight the urge to try and attack... but even if thi cube prevented his enemy fro mattacking him... it didn't prevent attacks from leaving the cube. BAel smirked and fired another missile barrage up into the sky at Furunii.
((Correct me if I am wrong, but the effect of Divine Box does not state that attacks cannot be fired from inside the protection, as it does with other similar cards.))
Koenjinn - October 21, 2007 07:32 AM (GMT)
"Ah! Fireworks display?" Furunii asked, raising an eyebrow at the missile flying into the blue skies above the combatants and their Tamer. "How nice; yet it doesn't explode. I appreciate the heart in it, though." The Renamon was on the ground the whole time; did Bael expect him to be floating in the air or something? There was no wings or anything to support flight for him, unless...you took a leaf out from Miles "Tails" Prower's book and utilize his tail to propel him.
The Renamon simply took a step towards the rapidly firing Devimon, and a hail of shards emerged. As long as the devil was attacking, there shouldn't be a problem attacking him while he was open, as long as the Devimon didn't turn around to face him. Still, turning allowed Furunii to attack. He charged forwards, halting as he spread out his arms.
"Koyousetsu!" And the sky rained shards down on Bael, a green glow enveloping Furunii's outstretched hands. Koen smiled at her partner; he was fighting well.
ZanderSteele - October 21, 2007 01:35 PM (GMT)
((Nice reference))
Devimon frowned and turned towards Furunii's voice watching the newly created shards bounce off of the cube he was encased in, "Didja forget about my second layer?" the Impmon-turned-Devimon smirked at the attempt.
He fired another volley of missiles at the Renamon, hoping to end this battle soon. While he wasn't there yet, he was soon going to have to rely on his willpower to survive this match, as he had to do in the past.
Zander tapped his foot impatiently, becoming more and more tired with this battle. He now just wanted it to be over. HE could clearly see the exaustion in Bael's body and reactions, but he had trained both of his partners to overcome physical and mental exaustion and push themselves as far as they could go, almost till death.
Speaking of partners, Koro awoke from having fell asleep on Zander's shoulder, "Uh.... " he mumbled, then realized that the battle was stilkl going on, "Whoa, Bael hasn't won yet?"
"Nope, sorry Koro but you don't win the bet.. it has been way past two minutes."
Koro sighed in disappointment and then smiles, "Oh well, I guess you win..."
Zander nodded and said, "No plushie for you, they stay on my trophy shelf."
Koro huffed and watched the fight, "I just thought they were really cuddly is all, especially the Renamon one you have."
Zander said no more on this, watching the fight himself... like he would have let Koro sleep on his plushies anyways.
They had been talking so long that he didn't notice that Bael's second defense had worn off, "Just keep up your guard..." Zander muttered to himself.
".... so how about another bet for that Renamon plushie huh?" Koro chimed in, nidging Zander so he would look at him, "A bet o nwho will win this fight.. I pick.."
"No Koro," Zander told him bluntly, "There will be no betting on this fight."
Koenjinn - October 22, 2007 10:55 AM (GMT)
The missiles hit the Renamon's wounded arm, aggravating it. But Furunii was strong and smart enough to know that a pain like this would be shrugged off soon enough, even if it meant that Koen needed to massage it a little. He grinned. This time, as soon as Bael attacked, he conjured shards of various sizes and sent them hurling at the Devimon. "Koyousetsu!" Two voices chanted.
The shards came from two directions, one volley towards Bael, coming from the front and another from the back. But then, the Renamon's clone dissipated, leaving...nothing. Furunii had engaged his invisibility once more to gain a little evasion in the battle.
ZanderSteele - October 23, 2007 02:26 AM (GMT)
Bael did the only thing he could do for now, and that was to stand as stil las he could with the earthquake happening. He managed ot keep the shield up long enough to block most of the barrage, but stumbled and had to dodge out of the way, recieving cuts to his side and right arm.
With a grunt he got back up and saw his opponent, or rather didn't see his opponent, was gone again.
"Come outta hiding, unless you're afraid you might get burned!" Bael yelled out, glancing at the remaining spectators. He steadied himself on the shaking ground and crossed his arms, kneeling to keep himself still as his barrier worked its magic.
It was probably pretty obvious by now, but in spite of the vast collection of rare cards Zander carried, he had yet to find a card that helped reveal natural invisibility.
Bael didn't feel too peachy, with metal arms weighting him down and his stamina being drained. He kept up his guard and resolve, gritting his teeth through it all.
Koenjinn - October 23, 2007 12:51 PM (GMT)
Furunii stood still, smirking as Bael yelled and swore his threats. The ground shook and trembled, but it did not sway the fox. With Bael not moving, he was actually on the safe side. The Renamon continued to wait in hiding, not wanting to move until a blast came his way and he had to avoid it, or a massive blast came and he had to shoulder it. Either way was good with him.
The partner turned to Koen. She was apparently trying to locate him too, but there was no point risking it.
ZanderSteele - October 24, 2007 01:28 AM (GMT)
OOC: Err... this might get too repetitive...
IC: He stayed his ground for now, coming up wiht blanks when it came to trying to figure out how to make an invisible something visible.
He just stays invisible! It's like trying to fight the air! Bael was frantically thinking of ways to help him win this fight, but it all looked so vain. HE was tired, battered, and almost completely out of ideas. He knew his tamer wouldn't help him with cards any longer, having used too many already.
"C'mon Zan, give him some support." Koro chimed in as he watched his Devimon friend just crouch motionless on the shaking earth, "HE needs our help."
"We can't do anything for him. If I use any more cards he will be completely drained and not stand a chance.. if he has one..." Zander replied ot his partner, speaking softly so Koen could not overhear, "I have no cards to detect invisibility..."
Koenjinn - October 24, 2007 01:45 AM (GMT)
OOC: True enough...its like a stalemate.
IC:
Koen sighed. Where was this match heading to? She couldn't even see her partner, so...she had to lure him out. The Tamer found herself siding Zander in this situation. "Card Slash!" She called out, taking out two cards from her pocket and slid them through the D-Ban one after the other. "Master Puppet, Offensive X!" She announced.
-------
Name: Master Puppet
Number: R16
Type: Single Target
Duration: 2 Turns
Effect: User can fully control the target opponent Digimon’s movements. Fifteen points of health per turn will be drained from the target to the user’s Digimon.
Name: Offensive X
Number: C26
Type: Single Target
Duration: Remainder of the battle
Effect: The next attack used by the affected Digimon doubles in power.
-------
Coughing slightly, she then said, "I'm sorry, Zander. But it's going to be a stalemate. I have to pull this card out, as much as I hate it." The girl then willed Bael to stand up and fly about a certain radius so that the shield would be lowered.
A hail of shards shot out, and it was at the double power. But that wasn't all, it too was increased by 75% in strength and speed, thanks to the earlier card. Zoe's Procrastination. "Koyousetsu!" Furunii stated, emerging from behind the veils of invisibility.
-------
Name: Zoë’s Procrastination
Number: P42
Type: Single Target
Duration: Remainder of the battle
Effect: User can choose from two options: either a Digimon from the Nature Spirits family can evolve to its next form (regardless of DEP, with or without a Crest/Blue Card/Digisoul), or one of your Digimon may receive a 75% bonus in attack power, agility and endurance at any point during the current battle… except on the turn this card is slashed. This effectively gives it a power boost that it can “store” for later activation.
-------
Furunii winced slightly. His arm was beginning to smart, even though he had gave it some rest earlier on. Energy was low in his body, for the match had raged on for quite some time already. But if the Devimon had fought back with a strong barrage...he had a 75% increase in endurance to back him up.
ZanderSteele - October 24, 2007 02:44 AM (GMT)
OOC: This is ten..
IC:
Bael was instantly commanded against his will, standing and flapping into the air a short distance. He couldn't explain it, only give a look of shock and horror when he saw the shards of that elusive fox streaming at him.
"Zan." Koro said quickly, seeign his friend in trouble, "help him."
"No, I've already used too much.. I could hurt him more if I.."
"Snap out of it!" Koro yelled, almost slapping his own tamer, "Sometimes it's inevitable! Just help him!"
Zander had to think quickly, so he pulled a single card from his pocket and slashed it, "Reverse!" he cried out, then felt weird connection to the newly appeared Furunii.
Zander immediately tried to command the Renamon as Bael had been commanded earlier, forcing him to use Kohenkyo to switch places with Bael and take the damage instead.
Bael was switched up with Furunii, stunned for a moment. HE then became angry at the Renamon and fired a barrage of missiles that seemed powered up at the fox with a battlecry. His mind was tired now and he was working on sheer willpower.. but it wouldn't last forever.
Zander tried to command the fox to stay in the path of the projectiles and not block whatsoever, wanting him to feel the pain.
After his barrage, Bael landed o nthe shaking ground and devolved to conserve energy as much as possible, huffing loudly as he hunched over.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name: Reverse
Number: U24
Type: Single Target
Duration: N/A
Effect: Any cards used by your opponent in his/her previous post will affect a randomly-selected target on the opposite side instead – e.g. a card supposed to double his/her Digimon’s speed would double the speed of your Digimon instead, and a card that sent arrows flying at your Digimon would send the arrows toward his/her Digimon.
Koenjinn - October 25, 2007 09:47 AM (GMT)
OOC: I've been using a lot of them cards...
IC:
"Card Slash!" Koen yelled in desperation, running a card through her D-Ban. She hoped that it would be the final card of the battle that she had to pull out, just in case she overtaxed her Renamon partner, which might lead to him overloading and heading towards his losing. "Driving Snow!"
-------
Name: Driving Snow
Number: U44
Type: State
Duration: N/A
Effect: Negates the effect of one of the opponent Tamer’s cards, but does not work if that card is associated with the element of ice (Snow Tornado, Icicle Lasso etc).
-------
Reverse's effects were negated, leaving Furunii in the air, and facing his own shards as well as the missiles. Ah well. He then conjured shards of an acceptable amount, deflecting his own earlier ones and getting hit on purpose by the remaining shards. Bael's missile zipped through the sky without harm, a streak of flames in their wake. The concrete floor was an awfully hard fall for the vulpine, but he shook it off despite the nagging pain that increased within his wounded arm.
The 75% increase in endurance shouldered the impact, and Furunii knew that. He managed to get up once more, arm still throbbing. Blue skies and the roaring watchers glanced down upon the combatants, comprising of a Renamon and a devolved Devimon. The imp was huffing and puffing, but the Renamon wasn't. However...that wasn't a sign that he wasn't tired.
Actually, Furunii was tired, but not wanting to show it. He wanted to keep an unbeatable image of himself to Koenjinn...wanting to show to her that he was a reliable digimon instead of her Ryuudamon, Shirasaki that perished in battle. The Renamon's desire, willpower and hunger for victory was so strong that it clouded his mind, stopped his mind from thinking sensibly and prevented him from breaking down the fort he built from over-confidence and pure ego.
