Moon Phase

CURRENT MOON
Two thousand years ago, there were two gods: Rayzaek, the God of Sun and Isiliah, the Goddess of Moon.
They were, of course, merely humans, humans with strange and unprecedented powers, humans who found each other and bent the whole of Desamarai to worship them.
They were lovers, they were saviors, they were the heralds of a great change, they could not last forever.
In the face of a kingdom falling apart, their love faded and they fought. They fought and retreated to their homelands- Rayzaek to Maikor and the south, Isiliah to Deida and the north. Here they split Desamarai into two, here they forever altered the world as they knew it, here they sewed seeds of discord to grow eternally.
Here they died.
Here they continue to shed blood.

Announcements

5/18/09 Lyra here! We've had a recent influx of members, which is wonderful. (:
I've just added some new boards for the Isellean and Pyndian Oceans. It's time to sail the high seas, eh? Indulge yourself in underwater towns, sea serpent mating frenzies, human sacrifices and shipwrecks, etc.!
In other news, I'm hoping to start up the plot proper sometime. But I can't until we have some Desarian Royalty and some proper religious leaders. Soooo... *nudge nudge wink wink*

Aramar River
Running through the middle of the Elymian Fields is the Aramar River, which is kind and bountiful. Once a year, in the winter, it floods with waters from the Adayam Mountains, the waters carrying fertile earth that covers the land. People farm along the edges, more so than in the rest of the Fields, and live easily lives during the winter on their crops of corn and wheat.

Ambisa River
The lazy Ambisa river begins in the Elymian Fields, from three spots. The area around these spots is marshy with a wet climate that is radically different from anywhere else in the Elymian Fields. People grow rice here in small villages, thriving off the wet land.

Baidan
Built along the Aramar River is the town of Baidan, a place that thrives off the farming alongside the river. Villages sell their crops here, providing plenty of food in a good year. Baidan is relatively large, and a place of art. Painters are often seen in the streets, brushing sunsets and rivers onto canvas.

The Shining Sickle Tavern & Inn
This tavern is surprisingly morbid, with a swinging sign that shows a hooded reaper with his sickle- one of the old pagan symbols for death. The motto of the place: "Every moment might be your last- so drink up." It is a favourite of sad old drunkards, with strong, musky ales.

Moon Flower Meadows
There is an area in the Elymian Fields, in the southern regions near the Ruvar Lake, where silvery pale moon flowers grow. They are similar to poppies, but with taller stalks and they have white, perfectly round seeds. Some flowers have dashes of colour on their petals, some sparkle mysteriously. All grow off the light of the moon. Lovers from nearby villages often come here in the warm months to watch the stars at night.
