Moon Phase

CURRENT MOON
Two thousand years ago, there were two gods: Rayzaek, the God of Sun and Isiliah, the Goddess of Moon.
They were, of course, merely humans, humans with strange and unprecedented powers, humans who found each other and bent the whole of Desamarai to worship them.
They were lovers, they were saviors, they were the heralds of a great change, they could not last forever.
In the face of a kingdom falling apart, their love faded and they fought. They fought and retreated to their homelands- Rayzaek to Maikor and the south, Isiliah to Deida and the north. Here they split Desamarai into two, here they forever altered the world as they knew it, here they sewed seeds of discord to grow eternally.
Here they died.
Here they continue to shed blood.

Announcements

5/18/09 Lyra here! We've had a recent influx of members, which is wonderful. (:
I've just added some new boards for the Isellean and Pyndian Oceans. It's time to sail the high seas, eh? Indulge yourself in underwater towns, sea serpent mating frenzies, human sacrifices and shipwrecks, etc.!
In other news, I'm hoping to start up the plot proper sometime. But I can't until we have some Desarian Royalty and some proper religious leaders. Soooo... *nudge nudge wink wink*

Changra River
The Changra River is the faster of the two rivers that flow in Chiang Dor. It is narrow and muddy, with more bridges than the Sangra River. It is fed by several waterfalls that appear mysteriously from hills in the south.

Kokang Delta
Not all of the Kokang Delta is taken up by Maikor. There are many rice farmers here, and they grow enough rice to bring some to the city to sell. There are stilt houses here, though not as densely packed as they are in the city. At night, oil lamps and candles shine onto the water and the shapes of mermaids sometimes can be seen through the water.

Ruins of Okwaan
Hidden in the depths of Chiang Dor are the ruins of a great city. It was Okwaan, the capitol of a once-great empire before the land was united under a single flag and named Desamarai. Many treasure-hunters come here, seeking the fabled Okwaan Diamond, which is said to be as large as a man's fist, and the Okwaan Crown.

Sangra River
The slower of the two sister rivers, the Sangra River is very wide- several miles so in some places. There are very few bridges, and they are quite likely to fall apart. However, several people have set up ferry systems- one can ride across the river for a few coins.

Pho Delta
In the north-eastern reaches of the Chiang Dor is the Pho Delta. The trees are thinner here and there are a few small villages on the islands created by the delta, thriving off rice farming. It is a beautiful place to watch the sun rise, with the sounds of birds all around and the Isellean Ocean stretching endlessly ahead.
