Welcome to Desamarai
|
Moon Phase
|
Two thousand years ago, there were two gods: Rayzaek, the God of Sun and Isiliah, the Goddess of Moon.
They were, of course, merely humans, humans with strange and unprecedented powers, humans who found each other and bent the whole of Desamarai to worship them.
They were lovers, they were saviors, they were the heralds of a great change, they could not last forever.
In the face of a kingdom falling apart, their love faded and they fought. They fought and retreated to their homelands- Rayzaek to Maikor and the south, Isiliah to Deida and the north. Here they split Desamarai into two, here they forever altered the world as they knew it, here they sewed seeds of discord to grow eternally. Here they died.
Here they continue to shed blood.

5/18/09 Lyra here! We've had a recent influx of members, which is wonderful. (:
I've just added some new boards for the Isellean and Pyndian Oceans. It's time to sail the high seas, eh? Indulge yourself in underwater towns, sea serpent mating frenzies, human sacrifices and shipwrecks, etc.!
In other news, I'm hoping to start up the plot proper sometime. But I can't until we have some Desarian Royalty and some proper religious leaders. Soooo...

The Ramparts Samaisor is unquestionably the largest city in the known world. Four times the walls have had to been rebuilt to make the city large enough for the expanding population. The newest walls were built only ten and five years ago, and the space behind them has yet to be filled. The ramparts are lined with trebuchets and guards, prepared always for an invasion and they hide most of the city from view and harm.

The First Wall The very centre of the city is where it first started, history hiding behind the wall that originally surrounded Samaisor. It holds the Palace and the temples to both the Sun and Moon, as well as those temples for more obscure religions.

The Second Wall When the population of Samaisor had grown past the First Wall, another wall had to be built. The area between the First and Second Walls is full of the mansions of the rich. The streets are clean but the buildings are intimidating- tall and beautifully carved with gargoyles and patterns of roses and pictures of the Sun God and Moon Goddess.

The Third Wall Eventually, the population of Samaisor grew beyond the Second Wall and thus the Third Wall was built. Now, this area is a place for middle-classed citizens- blacksmiths, tailors and other craftsmen. The main market is here too, always bustling with shoppers and craftsmen and farmers, buying and selling.
