Welcome to Desamarai
|
Moon Phase
|
Two thousand years ago, there were two gods: Rayzaek, the God of Sun and Isiliah, the Goddess of Moon.
They were, of course, merely humans, humans with strange and unprecedented powers, humans who found each other and bent the whole of Desamarai to worship them.
They were lovers, they were saviors, they were the heralds of a great change, they could not last forever.
In the face of a kingdom falling apart, their love faded and they fought. They fought and retreated to their homelands- Rayzaek to Maikor and the south, Isiliah to Deida and the north. Here they split Desamarai into two, here they forever altered the world as they knew it, here they sewed seeds of discord to grow eternally. Here they died.
Here they continue to shed blood.

5/18/09 Lyra here! We've had a recent influx of members, which is wonderful. (:
I've just added some new boards for the Isellean and Pyndian Oceans. It's time to sail the high seas, eh? Indulge yourself in underwater towns, sea serpent mating frenzies, human sacrifices and shipwrecks, etc.!
In other news, I'm hoping to start up the plot proper sometime. But I can't until we have some Desarian Royalty and some proper religious leaders. Soooo...

Adayam Lake The Amaris river originates in the Adayam Mountains- it flows from the Adayam Lake. It is a vast lake, deep blue and shining. The waters are icy- they come from the glaciers of the mountains. There are several islands in the middle of the lake, and a few villages by its shore.

Adayam Glacier A looming presence in the mountains, the Adayam Glacier is not terribly large but somehow seems conscious, wise. It melts slowly into the Adayam Lake in the warm months, gains bulk in the cold ones. Its brooding thoughtfulness intimidates many, intrigues others. They search its surface for some sort of meaning, trying to find the answers to their lives.

Glacial Caves The Adayam Glacier is riddled with caves, melted from the ice. They change often, tunnels collapsing and new ones forming, and so it is easy to get lost here. People sometimes wander here, searching for some sort of meaning in the glacier's heart, drawn in by its thoughtful air.

Pfyashen Falls Plummeting into the Arudyen Valley are the Pfyashen Falls, a series of waterfalls that are close together and very high up. The waters tumble off the edge of a cliff, collect in a small lake at the bottom and then flow onwards into the Amaris River. There are several caves behind the waterfalls, moss-covered and hidden, with dancing light on the walls.

Shydaan Falls Higher up in the mountains are the Shydaan Falls, just above the Pfayshen Falls. They are not as tall as the Pfayshen Falls, nor as close together, but the pool they drop into is deep and mysterious. Some speak of mysterious caves in its depths, filled with treasures guarded jealously by mermaids.
