Welcome to Desamarai
|
Moon Phase
|
Two thousand years ago, there were two gods: Rayzaek, the God of Sun and Isiliah, the Goddess of Moon.
They were, of course, merely humans, humans with strange and unprecedented powers, humans who found each other and bent the whole of Desamarai to worship them.
They were lovers, they were saviors, they were the heralds of a great change, they could not last forever.
In the face of a kingdom falling apart, their love faded and they fought. They fought and retreated to their homelands- Rayzaek to Maikor and the south, Isiliah to Deida and the north. Here they split Desamarai into two, here they forever altered the world as they knew it, here they sewed seeds of discord to grow eternally. Here they died.
Here they continue to shed blood.

5/18/09 Lyra here! We've had a recent influx of members, which is wonderful. (:
I've just added some new boards for the Isellean and Pyndian Oceans. It's time to sail the high seas, eh? Indulge yourself in underwater towns, sea serpent mating frenzies, human sacrifices and shipwrecks, etc.!
In other news, I'm hoping to start up the plot proper sometime. But I can't until we have some Desarian Royalty and some proper religious leaders. Soooo...

Deida Deida is oftentimes called the City of the Moon or the City of Silver, for many Moon worshippers live here and pray nightly at the temples decorated with gleaming silver. The people in Deida are nocturnal, living in lamp and moon light. Deida is a pale city, with solemn buildings of marble held in by a tall city wall. It makes its money off trade of metals and stones, mined from the Rose Hills and Grogorium Mountains. It is also well known for zoos and circuses and its annual carnival held in the light of the full moon.

The Ice Wastes and Grogorum Mountains Dominating the northern tip of Desamarai are the Ice Wastes and the Grogorum Mountains. The Ice Wastes are mostly barren and almost always buried in snow. Harsh winds blow across the flat land and blizzards are common. The Grogorum Mountains are smaller than the Adayam Mountains but have a wider variety of creatures, most dangerous.

Hyosald Forest The trees of the Hyosald Forest are tall and pale, as if fed by the moon. They cast shadows by day and shine in the light of the moon by night. It is a place full of life, with snagging undergrowth and many lurking creatures. People fear the Hyosald yet they love it, for its borders are a good place to hunt for game.

Isle of Syfia Off the east coast of the Lands of Moon, a long island stands from the sea. It has high chalk cliffs battered by the waves and pebbly shores. The Royal Family often comes here in the summers, to escape the heat of the south. It is a beautiful island, especially under the full moon.

Rose Hills Gentle curves on the horizon, the Rose Hills are a quiet place. They are named so because roses grow rampant here, curling around ruins of ancient cities and towns. Also growing are long grasses that sway in the wind and wildflowers, some of which wax and wane on the light of the moon.

Elymian Fields Most of the Elymian Fields are dominated by worshippers of the Moon Goddess. They make a good living here, growing corn and wheat on the fertile land. Farmers closer to the Samaisor oftentimes travel into the city to sell their crops.
