> Welcome to Desamarai

Moon Phase

CURRENT MOON
Two thousand years ago, there were two gods: Rayzaek, the God of Sun and Isiliah, the Goddess of Moon.
They were, of course, merely humans, humans with strange and unprecedented powers, humans who found each other and bent the whole of Desamarai to worship them.
They were lovers, they were saviors, they were the heralds of a great change, they could not last forever.
In the face of a kingdom falling apart, their love faded and they fought. They fought and retreated to their homelands- Rayzaek to Maikor and the south, Isiliah to Deida and the north. Here they split Desamarai into two, here they forever altered the world as they knew it, here they sewed seeds of discord to grow eternally.
Here they died.
Here they continue to shed blood.

Announcements

5/18/09 Lyra here! We've had a recent influx of members, which is wonderful. (:
I've just added some new boards for the Isellean and Pyndian Oceans. It's time to sail the high seas, eh? Indulge yourself in underwater towns, sea serpent mating frenzies, human sacrifices and shipwrecks, etc.!
In other news, I'm hoping to start up the plot proper sometime. But I can't until we have some Desarian Royalty and some proper religious leaders. Soooo... *nudge nudge wink wink*

If you break a rule, you get a warning. If it happens again or if you break a different rule, you will be banned.

1. Be nice.
Don't provoke people, insult people or fight over in Character issues.
2. Always alert others to when a thread is going to be R-rated.
R-rated includes excessive language, violence and non-graphic sex.
Some examples:
NOT R-RATED:
Bubbles played with his knife, running it over his thumb. Some blood came out. It accidentally slipped and cut him. He jumped up, dropped the knife and yelled "DANG BLAST IT TO HECK!!!" Then a very lovely woman came up to him, with green hair and violet eyes.
"Do you need some help?"
He didn't say anything, he was too busy yelling about hamsters. She bandaged up his wound. He finally noticed her and asked "Oh. Hi. What's your name?"
She smiled gently, saying, "Fruit Loop. What's yours?"
He blushed. "Oh. I'm Bubbles."
Winking, she asked, "Wanna play Parcheesi?"
So they did.
R-RATED:
Bubbles was playing with his knife, running it over his thumb, when he slipped and cut it open. "F--KING S--T BUSF--KERS!!!" he shrieked and ran out of his house, drawing his sword and attacking the first person he saw. It was a man, the poor thing, and Bubbles quickly disemboweled him. His guts poured out on to the ground like a bunch of worms. They [insert description of appearance, consistency, sound, smell and taste of the guts here].
His anger ebbed away and a woman with green hair and violet eyes walked up to him, asking "do you need help?"
He was too busy shrieking, "I'M GOING TO F--K EVERY WOMAN IN THE WORLD!!!" to notice her but she bandaged him up and then he noticed her.
His heart beating faster, he asked, "Hey baby, what's your name?"
She winked, saying, "Fruit Loop. You?"
"I'm....Bubbles."
She licked her lips and asked, "You were very handsome disemboweling that old man there. Wanna go f--k?"
Bubbles nodded eagerly and they went to his room and proceeded to have sex.

I hope that sums it up in an amusing fashion.
3. No spamming.
This means no random posts, (outside of the Insomnia Club) no repeated posts (unless accidental) and no advertising outside of the advertising board.
4. Be literate.
No talking LyK dIs, no chatspeak. Try to stick with proper grammar and proper spelling, it's not that hard. Try to make your posts at least a paragraph long- that's only a few sentences! We can't have "Your Mom ate a cake" because it's hard for people to reply to that.
5. No god-moding or powerplaying.
This means no invincible characters and no controlling other people's characters.
6. No perfect characters.
Nobody can have pretty blonde hair, blue eyes, big boobs, a beautiful face, a charming personality, be perfect at fighting and everything else they try and have ridiculuous sums of money. Everyone is flawed in one way or the other.
7. Auditions are required for special roles.
Auditions are just a little form with a roleplay sample. It's not hard, and don't be afraid!
There's a form provided in the
8. No plagiarism.
Don't steal other people's ideas. Try to be creative with names and appearances and histories for your characters. Ask permission before you use other members' ideas.
9. Characters must be from the Permitted Races List.
If not their description will be deleted. If the race of your character isn't on the list, try to adapt them or suggest another race. All the races are described in articles. Try to cohere to it, but feel free to deviate from it sometimes also.
10. You can create your own tribe, organization, cult or secret society!
That's right! biggrin.gif
If you have an idea for a pirate band or a strange little religion, then go here.
There are more rules and details there.
11. Remember, this is a MEDIEVAL fantasy site.
So no anachronisms, kay?
For example, no jeans because there wasn't denim til the 16th century and jeans weren't truly popularized til the 1950's.
If you ignore this, then know that your posts may be edited without warning to fit this time period better.
12. You should read/look at this stuff.
It'll help you understand what's going on more.

Permitted Races (Don't worry, you don't have to read all of these. Just make sure to look into the races of characters you want to create.)
Religon (Don't worry, you don't necessarily have to read these articles either, but it would be a good idea to at least skim the ones titled Sun and Moon)
History (Don't feel pressured to read everything here either. It's cool.)

--------------------
A distant and familiar sadness calls to us
As if carried on the wind, like burning sand
Brothers and sisters, away, you endure
Stranded on our own land
A memory etched into soul and skin
Leaves a scar that never heals
Our family is strong, but scattered
Across the stars and fields
We will not abandon you
We will not forget you
We will return for you
