I dont notice mine after turning it on either. Most of the scratches I've gotten on my lower ds screen I think are from when I first got my DS (I had feel the magic, which is a full touch-screen game)
and the last level of feel the magic requires very fast rubbing on the touch screen. I got some scratches from that. Other than that though I dont really notice any new scratches, maybe some.
