Dragon Quest VIII

This is a game i recently purchased. Its made by Square Enix (Final Fantasy) and the characters are designed by mr Dragonball himself Akira Toriyama. Heres one of them, the main villain Dhoulmagus


Hes cool learn to love him lol. The game plays very much like a Final Fantasy but with plenty of neat little quirks of its too. I highly recommend you guys check it out

Well buy this next i demand it nah seriously its a great game. very Final Fanatasy plus of course all that great Akira Toriyama charm and whacky designs

Yeah, when i saw the main character on some ad my first thought was "Goku! OMG NEXT BUDOKAI!". But it appeared to be someone else, i still saw the Toriyama Cell Shading immediately though.

I've always liked DQ, so yeah this one's gonna be next. Maybe together with MGS 3.

Anyways, how's the fighting system?

in short id say Final Fantasy with subtle twists. It feels at times like the whole game is in Toriyamas twisted humour. enemies sometimes dont fight in order to do odd things including doodling, licking their faces, staring blankly and running off because their mum calls them! Seriously fun stuff you never kno whats going to happen. Imps for instance are awesomely funny. They attempt to cast spels they dont even have the MP for

Lol, that kinda falls into the Breath of Fire category, which automatically rules! Because it makes for some dynamic combat and entertaining combat.

Might i say an excellent choice there sir. You'll soon be picking out the DBZ similarities i know i was lol. Alot of the models are somewhat similar if not exactly the same as their DBZ counterparts

I saw this at my local GAME store looked pretty good when i first saw it it showed one of the charecters looking likehe had gone ssj but he had purple aura ?

Yeh thats the Super High Tension form. All characters can achieve it but the main Hero looks like a Super Saiyan when he uses his.

i also got this game and i am now with the fight with dhoulmagus but i hope he's not the boss of the whole game cuz i'm only at lvl 30 and i almost defeated him, and super high tension is really awsome with hero (or whatever they call him)

and the bunny suit from jessica is fun!!

Heh, Im replaying through the game right now. Just beat Dhoulmagus yesterday. Leveled up like crazy for it too. I had everyone at level 30 or above cause last time I had such a hard time on that fight. This time, though, it seemed so easy o.O No one died either, not even Jessica xD

I really like this game though. Once I beat it, my friend and I are gonna trade and Im gonna play Fire Emblem and he's gonna play Dragon Quest VIII xD

Well since i mistakenly deleted my file just mere hours from completion (id been going 90 hours and was preparing for the Black Citadel) i havent gone back to this yet. Sure i will one day hopefully

I've rented and played this game during the summer, and I must say, I loved it! Currently I am at the part where you get that gem thingy for Red, but when I'll buy it, I'm going to complete and master that game.

I bought this game a few weeks ago, and I finished the whole game, including the Dragovian Trials (which are really easy if you are in the 60s level, and if you possess the Hero's Ability "Dragon Soul", which ignores defence.)

And this game is really really awesome. The storyline, characters, gameplay elements, everything were really interesting and ground-breaking. And yes, Dhoulmagus is my number 1 favorite villain from this game.
