Quality Ships

In the verran harbors belies an old ship design of considerable potency. Well guarded, there are many who want to claim this ship design for themselves. Will you succeed where others have failed to enable this? Only time will tell.

Vikes walked into the city and stayed in the shadows. He may his way to the port. He needed to see this ship. Derwood needed some type of sea travel but lacked the funds to design one himself. When he got to the port he saw alot of men.

They were decently armed, nothing too heavy, but they looked trained. If he was to take over the boat it would be a hard thing to do by himself. But he would do it. He must be quick and as silent as possible. He guessed there would be men on the boat too. So he needed to take care of the men outside all at once if possible. This is when he remembered his card. He used it and all the guards (about 6) outside fell to the ground.

One of the guards fell of the dock and into the water. He made a huge splash as he hit the water. Soon the guards were running out of the ship and looking for te intruder. One headed for the alarm, but Vikes shot him down. Now the other guards new where he was. But Vikes kept shooting. A couple shots were off mark but they slowed down the guards. More and more guards were coming out of the boat. Soon they stopped coming strait for him and fanned out and all came at him at once. They were definately trained. There were two lines of men coming for him. He quickly shot 4 times then used his cards for the last time. Some of the guards fell dead, but others hid and were safe. Vikes was now running towards the ship. He ran up the plank that lead to teh dock and then kicked in the water so the guards could not follow. But as soon as he did that arrows began flying by his head. THey had bows and knew how to use them. He ducked and ran to put down the sail. He had shot the ropes tieing him to the docks so all he had to do was get the sails down.

he got one of them down, and was heading towards the second. THe guards were now shooting blind. THey could not see him but thought if they shot strait up maybe they would hit him. Maybe they would.

Vikes almost had the second sail down when an arrow hit him in the arm. He screamed out in pain and heard a slight cheer from the guards. He tied the sail down the best he could and made his way to the forecastle. Cut the rope holding the anchor and soon the ship began to move. He was on the move....

"Blasted! That's the third time this week a galleon has been stolen. First the Nulgulthians, then a band of pirates, and now a skilled archer." One said as the ship escaped for open waters. The remaining guards aboard the ship surrendered, and offered to help crew this boat. One commented about the resource chrisis, and how these powerful boats were easily stolen even with serious backup.

Vikes accepted the men. He would need them to train his men. But that would not be for some time. For now they would head to Derwood.
