Solar Year 460

For too long, influence within the Region of Dunan has been sought after by both the Kingdom of Highland and the Jowston League of City-States. The City-States are comprised of five diplomatic bodies and one band of knights, while the Kingdom of Highland was carved out of a part of the Holy Harmonian Kingdom. Although open war has not been fought between the two in almost 30 years, that has quickly come to an end when Highland's Unicorn Brigade was found slaughtered near the border of Highland and Jowston.

The Kingdom of Highland borders the sea and it's mother country, the Holy Kingdom of Harmonia. The City-State of South Window borders the Toran Republic to the south, and the City-State of Tinto is seperated from the Grasslands to the west and Toran to the south. Tinto is one of the more aggressive City-States, frequently clashing with the Toran Republic and even dragging South Window into its conflicts on occasion. The Knightdom of Matilda tries to isolate itself off from the other regions, in hopes to keep their independence and strength. Two-River is at a 3-way standoff between the Humans, Kobolds, and Wingers, while Greenhill merely seeks to maintain its freedom as a school open for all who seek education. Lastly, the center of the alliance is Muse, who desperately tries to hold the fractioning City-States together all while being the front line against most Highland encounters.

With Highland crying for blood at the hands of the Muse soldiers that are claimed to have killed the Highland Youth Brigade, Luca razed the cities of Toto and Ryube, along with Viktor's mercenary forces in the service of Muse. The 'Mad Prince' employed the 2nd Highland Army to aid him, lead by General Solon Jhee, and the 3rd Highland Army lead by Kiba Windamier. These forces combined with the White Wolf Brigade, Luca's personal Army, began an assault on Muse. In a desperate plea for help, Annabelle asked the other City-States for help, citing that if Highland takes Muse, the rest will follow shortly. The heads of the states were weary to get involved and spoke with sharpened tongues to one another, showing their fall was imminent. Mustering all the help she could, Annabelle assembled her armies and prepared a defense while Muse waited for support. The only people to respond to the call were the Knights of Matilda, and they soon pulled out at Gorudo's orders, sealing Muse's fate. It would only be one day later that the siege would end when a mysterious person infiltrated Muse somehow and allowed the Highland Army to enter by opening the city's secure gates.

The forces of Muse stood no chance against Highland's surprise night attack, and Annabelle quickly had to rally her people and flee into the night. Due to Highland's incursion into Eastern Muse, Annabelle's only escape path was south, through Coronet and across Lake Dunan. Upon reaching Kuskus, she sought refuge from Lord Granmeyer, leader of South Window. While trying to catch her breath and rally people to her side, Highland was busy securing Muse as its base and moving to expand its borders. Greenhill and Radat are prime targets, as Teresa Wisemail was unable to return home to Greehill after the invasion and is with Lady Annabelle at the moment, and Highland has already burnt all of Eastern Muse to the ground, with no one left to oppose them.

Annabelle is trying to rally the people of South Window to her cause, however, South Window is dealing with problems of it's own. The citizens were panicked with fear from Highland and there's word of Toran's forces moving aroud it's borders as well, perhaps in response to Highland's activities, though Tinto isn't acting so optimistic about it. There's also several reports of women vanishing when they pass near the abandoned city of North Window, Viktor's hometown. Knowing she can't hide in South Window behind Granmeyer, Annabelle wishes to form a base of her own and begin to help defend against the threat of Highland. Annabelle offers to help Granmeyer investigate the mysterious rumors on the condition that once it's solved, the city will be hers to make of it what she will. And so Annabelle begins searching, searching for her stars...
