So there was this awesome concert coming to my town. Slipknot, Disturbed, DragonForce, Five Finger Death Punch, half a dozen bands I've never heard of. Real friggin' rock fest, right? I found out about it yesterday, listening to the local rock station, right around the time DragonForce was taking the stage. So much for publicity... *sigh*

The Police are playing in Philly tomorrow so I'm certainly going to be there. The concert was originally supposed to be back in November but it was postponed due to Sting being ill. I bought the tickets almost a year ago so I've been waiting for this concert for a long time...

Mayhem Concert? That has the bets line up ever. Its not coming to Australia, but Disturbed are.
I'm Seeing Disturbed + Alter Bridge + Behind Crimson Eyes in August.

Disturbed is a good live show, I've seen them before and they're pretty decent. I've never seen Alter Bridge but I like their music so I'd probably enjoy them as well. Actually never heard of Behind Crimson Eyes though to be honest...

Aye Disturbed are very good live, might be going to see Alterbridge soon.
Confirmed concert that I am seeing on September is DragonForce supported by Finish Viking metallers Turisas.
My hopeful gig a month later will be seeing X Japan in Bercy, Paris, France. This could perhaps be the greatest gig I will ever get a chance to see, though I have seen Iron Maiden 3 times so they better be on top form to pull that off.
My friend is going to see guitarist of Mr Big and Racer X, Paul Gilbert at a place called Rios in Leeds, I may try and get a chance to go and see that.

The Police concert was awesome, except for the fact that they went on at 9, only did a 1 song encore, and left the stage by 10:30. Old ass rockers can't play a full two hours...
Guess I can't complain since this is their first tour in 20 odd years and they announced that after they finish this US leg up in a few weeks they will be disbanding once more (and for good this time).

I don't know. It's been a while, but I seem to remember Simon & Garfunkel doing a full two hours or more, and they're older than the Police. Of course they probably did a lot less drugs in their popular years. Or at least a lot less of anything other than marijuana, 'cause you weren't allowed into music back then unless you were hittin the reefer... ;)

Figured I would bump this up.
Anyone going to any gigs at all soon?
I got my tickets the other day for my next concert, northern english Metal legends Saxon with special guest Doro (Doro Pesch's band, former Warlock singer). Those bands are supported by Northern Irish band Sweet Savage who originally had guitarist Vivian Campbell (of Def Leppard, Dio and Whitesnake fame). Really looking forward to this gig since its one of my first where every band i'm seeing two legendary bands that I love.
I am also considering going this years Download Festival at Castle Donnington, one of the UKs biggest alternative/metal festivals. Bands I am looking forward to include Faith No More, Dir En Grey, Killswitch Engage, Lacuna Coil, DragonForce, Journey, ZZ Top, Whitesnake and Def Leppard. Am also interested see how good Limp Bizkit are, since like Faith No More, they have reformed and are playing on UK date.

So last saturday night I saw Dethklok and Mastadon live at a really nice indoor venue in Chicago called the Aragon Ballroom, or more affectionally by metalheads as the Aragon Brawlroom. I went with my older brother(who is also the lead singer/rythmn guitarist in my band), my cousin(the lead guitarist in mah band), and my buddy Big Mike(who is our security and head rowdy).
We got there at the beginning of the show and by part of the way through the first band, High On Fire(which totally sucked), we were at the front-center railing. Which is when we noticed that they were filming the concert for the DVDs. We stayed there the whole night and the video cameras were on us like crazy, and we were going ape :bleep: . So I gotta get the DVDs and see if I'm in them!
As for the bands both Mastadon and Dethklok were amazing, period. The video animations in the backround with the guys rocking out stage is pure awesome sauce. Plus the anitmated skits between songs were hilarious. And somebody in the crowd was dressed like Dr. Rockso the Rock n' Roll Clown. Best show I've been to in awhile.
