When I mention terrifying events in Suikoden's history, you probably think of the horrific massacre of Kalekka, Luca Blight's scorching of Eastern Dunan, Neclord's proposed Zombie Kingdom in Tinto or the turncoat assassination of the Falenan Royals. There is however another, people may question whether or not it actually happened but a certain individual had a part to play in the history of this world....

LU'S EXCELLENT ADVENTURE

Estrise, Queendom of Falena...

It was another beautiful summer day in Estrise, the town was awoke by the sound of the Gulls rolling into the docks. For one individual it had been a sleepless night working on his newest creation. He had been locked away, silence was golden with nothing to...

“HAAAIII PROFESSORRRR!!!”

Babbage jumped as his door closed with an almighty Crash, it was Estrise's resident.... well nobody really knew what Lu did, lets just call her the town's resident charismatic but slightly unhinged youth.

“OOHHHH....What's this!?” Babbage looked over his should to see Lu had picked up one of this weeks inventions.

“No Lu don't push that.....” it was almost as if she deliberately pressed it, forcing the rounded contraption to shake and whir as she dropped it down on the table and went elsewhere in the workshop. He hurried over to the machine but before he could have reach the controls there was an explosion... an explosion of eggs and toast. “...button” Babbage's delay was met with a sigh, he was too tired for this. He wondered where Sorensen was but then remembered he'd left... how his mind wandered sometimes.

Gone were the days he had the boy as an apprentice... now he had Lu. Some years had passed yet instead of growing up Lu had became even more impulsively random. He told himself that it was just her way... she was rather talented with gadgets and mechanical wonders, though some might not believe it. It was perhaps her unique mind that saw problems in a different light and she had maintained some of his older creations... well about seventy five percent of the time... the others just explode.

Now... he had finished, his greatest creation, his lifelong ambition, using blinking technology he had constructed an Inter-Generational Immobile Transport... or Time Machine to Dullards. He wondered what he could do to test it, he pulled down a small console activating the lightning rune on the side, the machine spluttered to life prompting him to clap his hands.

“Waaooow!” the lights of the machine seemed to entrance Lu as she stood in awe, Babbage placed hand against his chine, stroking his beard, “What should I send, hmmmm?” he looked around the workshop and saw his ginger tabby.

“Ah Eureka!” (That's the name of his cat...) he wandered across the workshop picking up the rather confused cat and carrying him towards the machine. “You want to be the first non-runic being to time travel, hmmm?” Eureka really did not looked too pleased about the idea as his claws latched onto the side of the machine's door.

“Oh dear it appears you are rather grouchy, shall we get you some milk, hmm?” Babbage said pulling the relieved cat away from the machine. He noticed Lu was still standing staring at the machine. “Now Lu, I'm going to prepare our little friend for his journey, I ask one thing only of you... besides not destroying my workshop of course... DO NOT PRESS THE RED BUTTON!!!”

As Babbage left Lu remained static her eyes empty as if daydreaming, unfortunately for Babbage she was not paying any attention whatsoever.

-sings- “blink, blink, blink, blink blink, blink blink, bliiiink....go the pretty lights... constantly.....” Lu's singing inside her head stopped as her eyes focused on a large red button. “Ooooooh a big red button, now you are asking to be pushed, now!!!!” with that she stepped towards the machine entering the small space containing the button, it was as if Babbage never instructed her not to push the button... in Lu's mind she'd been more concerned with how fast the lights were blinking.

Without further delay Lu hit the button prompting the machine to begin spluttering, bolts surrounded the pod-like machine as the door closed behind her. Rather than be worried about being trapped inside an untested contraption, Lu had pressed her hands and face against the window with a chuckle “Keeewwwwwlllll!”. There was a screeching noises and a second later the machine was gone with a pop.

“Lu...I hope you...” Babbage entered the room to only see a circular burn mark on the floor... he should have been angry or even upset but instead he carefully place Eureka on the table and shook his head. “...pushed... the button...” he said with a sigh.

“Oh no... what could this mean for time as we know it, hmmm?” Babbage exclaimed knowing that the world was now at the mercy of the unknowing and oblivious mind of Lu!
