Title: What about Gremio?
Description: For those who are wondering.
McDohl - September 28, 2008 06:20 AM (GMT)
Following the mini-event in Coronet, Gremio will be released from being my NPC and made a free character for anyone to RP. That's the most simple and plain way to put it.
To Emer ( Cleo ): If you would keep him with you for a reasonable amount of time and then have him either return to McDohl Manor in Gregminister, or have him be "around Dunan" on a search for Tir that would be great. Basically if you would put him in the easiest position to be picked up by the next RPer that would be really great.
Thanks.

Why is the young master and his servant suddenly parting ways? I thought he was going to be an integral part of your storyline with Tir McNuggets?
McDohl - September 29, 2008 04:33 AM (GMT)
I mean, he was. But can he still remain my NPC if he's not with me?
EDIT: I do want to keep him, and I suppose if it's allowed under the current rules I could still actually RP as Gremio, similar to how Belcoot ( Maha ) is posting with Jaimala in her thread with Seed. If I can do that, then I will gladly RP as Gremio as well as Tir. Though IC as it stands, Tir is sick of being followed around and protected by his bodyguards / family. He loves them but he wants to find his own strength after getting his :bleep: handed to him on a platter like he did.
Wyatt Lightfellow - September 29, 2008 04:43 AM (GMT)
Jack has still remained my NPC even though he isn't constantly in touch with Wyatt in the roleplay.
I guess, my own feelings are that you should keep him as your NPC until someone comes to the site and expresses interest in playing him or something. He, and the bond with your character, seems more important in the meanwhile to keep established...even if they're apart.
As far as roleplaying him separately, that doesn't seem to far out of bounds either to me considering we're doing that with Klaus and (as you said) Jaimala to make things happen with both of their characters.
But, that's just my take on the matter.
McDohl - September 29, 2008 04:47 AM (GMT)
Thanks, because I didn't really want to let Gremio go at all. I just didn't think that keeping him as my NPC in lieu of my recent actions would be fair to someone who expressed interested in the character ( as a new member ).
Update: I am keeping Gremio as my NPC and will be posting with him as much as possible, starting now with the party in North Window. Emer thanks for accepting my request but I will be fine now. B)
EDIT: Cool beans. ;)

I got a flood control message there...weird!!
Anyway, does that mean you're keeping him and Cleo don't have to take him or do you still want her to have him until the reunite again??
EDIT: No problem!! :D
Wyatt Lightfellow - September 29, 2008 05:09 AM (GMT)
No worries.
I'm not a staff member any longer, however, so you may want to get the official nod from someone other than me on all of this before making a final declaration of intent.
This is how I look at it....
I would imagine if you have a story arc that you can work on as Gremio, and can bring the two together at some point in time, it would be best to keep him on as your NPC. Until and unless someone comes along who wants the role. Even then, it's going to be damn hard to roleplay him without a storyline involving Tir.
If you're going to separate the two for a long time to pursue an independent story with Gremio though, in the meanwhile and it being not focused on or relating to Tir himself, than you may want to drop him as you had intended or apply for him as a dual-account or something.
I don't know. You have options either way, really.
McDohl - September 29, 2008 05:27 AM (GMT)
Yeah, I suppose I do. I'm going to have a new NPC here shortly, so I suppose that I would like to turn Gremio loose. I am going to finish up the NW event RPing as him, and then after that I will RP him returning to Toran after the apparent death of Tir at NW.
Which will set up nicely the next RPer to begin his chronicles once again. So I'll follow through with this plan. Thanks for your insight Wyatt, you really helped me decide what to do in this situation.
Belcoot - September 29, 2008 09:57 AM (GMT)
Since you do only have one account and no tri/dual then I have no objections personally to him keeping Gremio and having another npc too. If people can have tri accounts with 3 seperate ones why cant one account have the same.
Also of course its possible to rp npcs seperately much like Kiba with Dolentz and Klaus and of course myself with Jaimala.
If the other staff want to offer their oppinions I'd like to hear but I'm good with it obviously.

Yeah dat's coo'. I did that back when I first joined as Alen and I got my first NPC Gares. I got to Rp with Hoi(Who was then Richmond), and rped Gares seperate from Alen for a bit. There is no written rule on this I don't think, so maybe we should let people know it's ok.
Hazuki - October 1, 2008 11:56 AM (GMT)
There's no rule that says a chara and NPC must be joined at the hip all the time, so I have no objection to a seperation. However, a second NPC is not allowed unless the member in question has a second, active account.
From the
General NPC creation guidelines:
| QUOTE |
1- Before you are eligible to obtain your first free NPC, you must first accumulate a total of 25 total posts (with a minimum of 5 in character posts, so please do not spam the OOC discussion boards as you'll still need 5 IC posts). Once you have made the necessary posts, you may apply for your first NPC (which again, is free). Additional NPCs will cost potch however, and are regulated to be one per existing account. Meaning, you'll only gain the ability to create and apply for a 2nd NPC when you take on a dual-account.
You may purchase a maximum of three (3) NPCs, but to do so, requires that you have three existing accounts on the site. Reason being, to help moderate the ratio of NPCs to actual member characters. The NPCs can be used for any of your accounts however, so long as you remain active with them. If you go inactive for a long period of time with that character or any others, you'll likely lose the privilege to make more if you rejoin the story at a later point in time. Also, before you are eligible to apply for a new NPC, you must have at least 10 IC posts on the board with said dual-account. |
Emphasis mine.
If you're willing to give up Gremio as an NPC, then I have no objection to your taking on another, since you'd still have only one NPC to go with your single account.
McDohl - October 1, 2008 11:58 AM (GMT)
I have already passed Gremio on to Emer ( Cleo ). Gremio is her NPC now. As of right now I don't have an NPC. That will change when I finish Kira's RP sample. Thanks anyway though.
Emer Mathorell - October 1, 2008 08:09 PM (GMT)
Yeah I'll take him on since he can't just fade into nothingness!!
But counting on people to poke me if those heart felt moments about Tir get too mushy between them!!
Want me to write up a whole registration for him guys??
Belcoot - October 1, 2008 09:50 PM (GMT)
Yes you will need to re-register him as Cleo's npc. With Tir's permission you could be permitted to use some of the stuff already there on Gremio.
McDohl - October 3, 2008 05:34 PM (GMT)
Emer has my permission to do anything concerning Gremio or his profile. I <3 Emer!!!
Emer Mathorell - October 3, 2008 11:46 PM (GMT)
Thank ya kindly Tir, that gives me a lot less to do during this time when my head is melted!! I might just make up my own RP Sample to get the connection between Cleo and Gremio if thats ok!! Of course, not right now, my head's all over the place!!
Thanks McDohl!! Mwah!!
Emer Mathorell - October 14, 2008 12:45 AM (GMT)
Sorry for the double post but I just wanted to ask something to clarify this;
As I have to register Cleo with Gremio as an NPC, is he stripped of everything he had while being Tir's NPC?? Like all his runes??
Hazuki - October 14, 2008 01:24 AM (GMT)
There's not much precedence to go by, but I'd say that he should pretty much start over regarding runes and weapon levels.
The good news is that Gremio, as played by Tir, was still on his first weapon level and had only one rune anyway. The bad news is that his one rune was a Mother Earth Rune. Unless you'd like to purchase a Rune Upgrade for him, I'd bump that back to a regular Earth Rune.
