Site Rules and Guidelines

*0* -Do not flame fellow members(Directly or indirectly/subtlety). If you have opposing views, try to work it out in a civilized manner between yourselves first. Respect fellow members and staff equally. I cannot stress this enough as this rule will actually be enforced this time around with suspensions. Everyone knows how to behave here, so let's just focus on having fun working together for a better future.

1 -When joining the site, register your character in the Registration Forum before posting a profile. Your character needs to be accepted before you officially join the story and start posting in the other forums! Make sure you use the Registration Template.

2 -Make sure that posts are made in correlation to the place you are posting. Example: Don't post an out of character post in a section reserved for role-playing and vice-versa. IC = In character. OOC = Out of Character. This means smiles should only stay OOC.

3 -Do not sign up for multiple characters without permission. You are only allowed the one initially when you start on the site. You may change once with admin permission. Some special occurrences have happened, but they are extremely rare, and shouldn't be counted as fact for happening again in the future.. For more information, see the Dual Account Thread.

4 - If and when you write on the Castle North Wind role-play with multiple character accounts, you must include a notation in your main account signature which includes the name of your dual-account or a name and link to the profile of the dual-account you hold on the site. If you hold a dual-account, likewise, a notation must be made in the signature of your dual account which states the name of your primary account. Also, if you hold a dual account and haven’t already posted in this Topic, please make sure you do so as soon as possible.

5 -Keep to your character persona. This is VITAL; do NOT act OOC for your character in the story, ever! For instance, you won't see Luca having a cup of tea with the Riou, Kinnison enjoying a bustling city, or Pesmerga talking someone's ear off. But this isn't to say that your character can't grow. Pesmerga or Clive could slowly open up to certain people they adventure with often. Ayda acting friendly to friends that character Role-Plays with. What we mean is that, you should act like your character in the general sense, but there is room for growth. Subtle growth though, changes over time, these are fine and acceptable. Sid should act pretty creepy, but he can gradually act less creepy over time.

6 -If you are going to participate in a specific story in the RP, first make sure that it is ok with the other members already in the event. You must also read the prior posts to be certain that you will be in the same time-frame as the one who created the topic, and aren't disrupting any event that is supposed to transpire.

7 -If you create a thread for someone else, make sure to mark it with the reservation for the other character in the sub-header box. If it is open, you may leave the box blank. But feel free to make it creative and goofy, but it must be IC!

8 -Spell checker can be your friend if you can afford to have it. Try your best and use online dictionaries if needed. It's hard and confusing to read gobblyguk and other members won't appreciate it. Also, the newer version of Mozilla has an auto-spellchecker as well if you use their programs. Dictionary.com , Spellchecker.net

9 -Bypassing the rules will result in deletion of posts and possible deletion of your username too, for someone that doesn't have the sense to do as they are told!
Do NOT look for ways to break these rules, it’s pretty black and white and no loopholes should be looked for or exploited. If you break these you will be punished, no ifs, ands, or buts. Do NOT break the rules out of spite; you will get in trouble, no matter who you are.

10 -Please read the Castle North Wind Story. For it contains vital information that may alter your character directly or indirectly. For instance, the existence of Neclord would mean that Viktor is still in search of him.

11 -Please post a minimum of three paragraphs, and be patient after you post! Allow the person you are role-playing with to create a response. Remember that they may not be in the same time zone as you. If you find yourself waiting more than a week for someone to post and you’ve tried to contact them about when they will post again without response, please contact a staff member for assistance and guidance on how to move forwards.

12 - Don't forget that the RP is in third person omniscient or limited form when writing. (Third Person Omniscient) or (Third Person Limited) That means that you WILL NOT ADDRESS THE AUDIENCE. Also, it is fair to make an OOC comment in an IC post if it is something important. There is really only one acceptable way to go about this; Mark it as OOC: at the beginning/end of your post, say what you will, then section it off from the rest of the post. Do not post in the first person perspective or second, we will not tolerate any of that!

13 -Do not partake in marionetting or Godmoding. This is where you control another person's character. It is not only highly frowned upon; it’ll get your rump in trouble! The only time it is allowed is when you have the other person's permission.

14 -It is a prerequisite that you remain active within the community. Your absence could very well bring the decline of the board.

15 -There are no True Runes or Advanced Runes allowed for your character when they first join. Please refrain from attempting to find one. The result will be a warning and possible deletion of your post! If your character starts with one, I.E. True Wind on Luc, it will be weakened to a normal Wind rune. But it can grow with time and events that are worked out with the admins.

16 -Make sure to approve any major plot event, with the staff, that you plan to post in your thread, with your character, for it could conflict with other events that are happening, or are supposed to happen in the future.

17 -If you have plans that will result in a long absence from the site, please let Sonya, Liara, Edgar, Kika, Georg, or Kero know. Otherwise your account may be deleted.

18 -Sexual events are to be handled with the utmost care. Do NOT RP them happening, we honestly don’t want to see or read it, and it’s against the Terms of Service. If you break this rule, you will get busted hard, resulting in deletion of the posts and a suspension after a verbal warning. Repeated offense will result in banning from the board. No matter whom you are.

19 -Traveling on the board. Do not skip all willy-nilly from place to place on the board. A character in Harmonia in one post can't show up in Toran for the next post. We do not require a traveling post any more, it should be mentioned and is encouraged that part of your first post when entering a new area should be dedicated to the journey there. Make it interesting, it's not that hard. Reflect on past events, describe your surroundings, there are several possiblities. And again, THREE PARAGRAPH MINIMUM.

20 -Do not post excessive swearing in posts of in the CBox. Do not post offensive links in posts or in the CBox either. And do not Flame other members in any form, CBox, post, or PM. Do not spam the forum with posts, and do not spam the CBox either. Breaking any of these will get you in serious trouble.

21 -Respect your admins, mods, and fellow members. They work hard to make this place better for you, so causing them problems will only cause you problems. The rules are in place for a reason, and that is to keep peace and stability amongst the members and the site. Breaking the rules is petty and childish. They are not hard to follow.

22 -Character deaths are not allowed unless you get an OK from an admin. We don't need to needlessly kill off Stars of Destiny based on people's whims.

23 - Do not post in the OOC forums with your dual-accounts. You are to post with your primary account only in all OOC forums, unless it is to post up an announcement in the Public Announcement Forum, or to play some of the mini-games with the IC status of another account you hold.

If you break the rules, you will get punished. Status, rank, popularity, none of this matters when you break the rules. You will be punished, if you whine, complain, and flame the staff for enforcing the rules upon you, then you are welcome even less to the board. We are here for fun, not to see how we can break the rules. If you have a problem with any of these, then feel free to discuss it with the staff. But remember, we are not oppressing you, and following these simple rules should be pretty easy. If you break the rules, you will have to face the consequences.
