Title: Batman
Description: The Dark Knight
Wyatt Lightfellow - September 5, 2007 08:41 AM (GMT)
I don't know when exactly the trailer came out in the last few days, but we have a teaser finally for the film.
Dark Knight
Nash - September 5, 2007 08:48 AM (GMT)
Christian Bale is a great Bruce Wayne and Batman.
Now we have a Joker as well.
This movie should be great, I can't wait.
Hazuki - September 5, 2007 11:06 PM (GMT)
I'm looking forward to this one :)
Here's hoping we get a trailer with actual pictures soon :D
Clive - September 6, 2007 06:48 AM (GMT)
Oh wow, Heath Ledger is the Joker... this should be pretty cool. Though I still haven't seen Batman Begins!
Hazuki - September 7, 2007 01:59 AM (GMT)
I heard a rumor that Ledger wasn't going to have the, for lack of a better term, traditional Joker make-up. I have no idea if that's true or not, but it got me wondering if he'd be less creepy and menacing that way, or more.
And Clive, do watch Batman begins :D
Wyatt Lightfellow - September 7, 2007 02:07 AM (GMT)
Yes. Do watch it. Hug it. Squeeze it. Love it. :D
In the production photo's (what few of them there are) it looks like Ledger has the traditional green hair, white face, red grin.
There is a link to the photo's
Here.
Hazuki - September 7, 2007 02:15 AM (GMT)
Hmmm...it does rather look that way, doesn't it? Although it's pretty hard to tell. It doesn't really matter, I suppose, since I'll certainly be going to see the movie anyway ;)
On a side note, what are some other Batman villians you'd like to see in a movie? Personally, I'd like to see Red Claw.
Wyatt Lightfellow - October 10, 2007 04:44 AM (GMT)
I found some more production shots.
Sweet
Hazuki - October 10, 2007 11:41 AM (GMT)
Hmmm....interesting. Ledger is definitely wearing some sort of makeup, but it doesn't appear to be quite the "traditional" Joker look. I note he definitely is sporting the purple suit.
Isn't it about time we got an actual trailer for this film?
Nash - October 10, 2007 11:44 AM (GMT)
I heard that they are going to dive into the Joker's past in this one. Before he became the clown prince of crime. So we may see him normal for a good portion of the movie, then the insane clown might come out and play later.
Wyatt Lightfellow - October 12, 2007 06:12 AM (GMT)
That would be a welcomed spin on things. It feels like alot of the previous history of his character was left out and kind of half-backed in the original movie.
Hazuki - October 12, 2007 10:46 AM (GMT)
Since Batman begins explored Batman's past, I suppose it makes sense for the sequel(s) to look into the history of his nemesis. That does leave the Scarecrow and Ra's Al Ghul sort of rootless, though - unless they come back later ;)
Wyatt Lightfellow - October 14, 2007 05:33 AM (GMT)
Yeah. I think that we've probably seen the last of Ra's Al Ghul, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Scarecrow makes a return to the series. Ra's history was sort of touched on in Begins, with his explanation to Bruce of the loss of his "great love" and then the purpose of the League of Shadows. I was really happy that they put as much depth into him as they had, honestly. But, MOAR is always better. ;)
Hazuki - November 21, 2007 02:54 AM (GMT)
Even if they don't bring back Ra's Al Ghul himself, perhaps his daughter can make an appearance ;) I tend to like Batman's female antagonists, and she would certainly be an interesting addition - especially if her father did show up again. In the animated series he was always wanting her to marry Bruce Wayne, which seems a little unlikely now considering the movie history between them, but you never know.
Luca Blight - November 21, 2007 04:11 AM (GMT)
I still can't believe they actually went through with Heath Ledger as The Joker. Should prove to be interesting.
McDohl - November 21, 2007 06:10 AM (GMT)
Yeah I agree with Luca, I want to see how Heath pulls off this role. Should be pretty hilarious seeing him as the Joker...which is perfect for the role I suppose.
Hazuki - November 21, 2007 12:17 PM (GMT)
I've seen some pictures, and hilarious isn't the word that comes to mind.....
Wyatt Lightfellow - November 24, 2007 09:37 PM (GMT)
I think he'll do just fine, myself.
Jack Nicholson is going to be a tough act to follow, though. You have to wonder if Heath's age and their attempt to rewind the clock a bit with the character is a good choice for the series. Between Bale and Ledger, it should be an interesting contestation when they are both on the screen together.
Wyatt Lightfellow - January 2, 2008 04:56 AM (GMT)
A New Trailer has been released for a couple of weeks now. Looks pretty sweet. ;)
Linkage.
Nash - January 2, 2008 06:07 AM (GMT)
Ridiculously amazing!
Although, if I do say so myself, they are going quite explosion heavy from that the trailer is showing.
But, whatever, it looks bad arse.
McDohl - January 2, 2008 08:50 AM (GMT)
I'm definitely looking forwards to this movie, without a doubt. Joker looks pretty awesome, so does Batman though. I see he has the Bat Bike now. XD
Lazlo - January 2, 2008 06:04 PM (GMT)
Can the Bale and Ledger chemistry reach or to be equal with the Keaton and Nicholson chemistry, it's hard but lets wait and see. ;)
Wyatt Lightfellow - January 3, 2008 09:53 AM (GMT)
I think it's going to more than surpass any previous chemistry we've seen. Bale (in my opinion) is the best actor to play the role in history to date. Of course, it helps that he has a competent screen play and writers.
Lazlo - January 3, 2008 10:20 AM (GMT)
It's Michael Keaton for me, the eyes my man they define a true Batman. Though Bale eyes are deep also.
Hazuki - January 7, 2008 03:05 AM (GMT)
So far, my trouble with the actors who've donned the cape and cowl has been that I liked them in one role, but not the other. I liked Michael Keaton as Batman, but deplored him as Bruce Wayne. It was just the opposite with Val Kilmer and George Clooney. Bale, however, I've been rather impressed with in both roles. I'm not sure how he'll play opposite Heath Ledger, but I think they're both fine actors, and that certainly can't hurt ;)
Nash - January 22, 2008 10:15 PM (GMT)
I have bad news gang...
Heath Ledger was found dead in his apartment today from a supposed drug overdose.
Quite shocking actually, but it doesn't turn me away from one of his last films.
Tragic. R.I.P.
Roundier Haia - January 23, 2008 02:55 AM (GMT)
I was going to post about this as soon as I got on here. Rather shocking turn of events.

Han Cunningham - February 2, 2008 09:39 AM (GMT)
This was so sad. He seemed like one of those really "with it" kind of guys. I was a big fan of some of his early work. I hope they continue on with this movie after this. It would be a shame not to see his final performance hit the screens.
Hazuki - March 15, 2008 01:59 PM (GMT)
It's not about
The Dark Knight per se, but there's teaser footage online now for the upcoming video release of
Batman Gotham Knight.
If I understand correctly,
Gotham Knight is supposed to be to Batman what
Animatrix was to the Matrix movies, and will sorta bridge the gap between
Batman Begins and
The Dark Knight.
I'm not sure I really like all the different styles, but it definitely looks like it'll be worth a watch :)
Wyatt Lightfellow - March 26, 2008 05:53 AM (GMT)
Tragic is right.
Someone important to me once said something quite profound, which I still remember and fits quite well when I think of this. He said that a man's worth was judged not by what he did, but by what he did for others.
This is for you, Heath. Because you did so much for us all.
We say goodbye, but we never let go.
The Tribute
Lazlo - March 26, 2008 06:52 AM (GMT)
I liked him, he was a great actor. Stupid pills...I blame the media.
Wyatt Lightfellow - May 6, 2008 04:21 AM (GMT)
Another great trailer release from the other day.
Linkage.
Zaj - July 18, 2008 11:51 PM (GMT)
This movie absolutely kicks major butt. Saw it on its opening and enjoyed every minute of it. It's pretty long, like 2 hrs and 30 min. long, but completely worth it. To be honest, I was so excited the the day before that I didn't go to sleep from yesterday. Still up surprisingly, without any use of caffeine! That's how good the movie is, it'll force you to deprive your sleep.
-Zaj greatly approves of this movie. Watch it...immediately!- :el:
Lazlo - July 26, 2008 07:31 PM (GMT)
A very excellent movie, I love it. As Tir and Zaj said go see it people!!!! NOW!!!
Bale and Ledger are awesome!!!
Nash - July 28, 2008 01:38 AM (GMT)
Bale probably is the least impressive actor in the film. (disregarding Freeman, I hate Freeman.)
Caine, Ledger, Eckhart, and Oldman all outshine Bale sadly.
Not to say Bale did a bad job, but those guys were amazing.
~
This movie was great.
I will say this though, Batman having trouble with dogs while able to safely land from an extremely high free fall is.....?
McDohl - July 28, 2008 10:33 AM (GMT)
Is Bruce Wayne for a moment thinking "OH :bleep: they set the dogs on me!"
Geddoe - August 2, 2008 02:48 AM (GMT)
Wholly Batman....Batman....
Just got back from seeing it as I hadn't had a chance to until now.
All I have to say is...Wow.
I went into it loving Batman, expecting greatness, after hearing all the reviews, rumors, word of mouth and being rated 1 on imdb's top 250 (above the godfather :o) I knew it would be amazing and still it was better than I had expected.
Fantastic from start to finish, and some absolutely brilliant acting throughout the entire movie....my hat's off to this one.
Lazlo - October 19, 2008 12:01 PM (GMT)
I've been thinking of the new villian they'll have next. A Ra's comeback? Or the Black Mask...I think he'll be their choice!
