That's right folks, this thread is especially for writing your own Rockaxe Death Scene. Where we see our favourite character in the whole of Suikoden II, Nanami get penetrated by arrows and fall dead on the ground. *Well, not really*
Basically, everything that happened in the game up to the point of the crossbows being aimed has happened. Try to keep it serious, make sure the characters are IN CHARACTER! Except instead Nanami is not in the party, and you will choose one other Suikoden character from the game to jump in front of the hero and attempt to deflect the arrows.
You will write what happens as the arrows are being fired, how the character attempts to deflect them. Then SKIP the Gorudo battle, then write what happens after Jowy and the Hero kick the crap out of Gorudo, why the character jumped in front of Riou etc etc etc. Feel free to create time distortions by killing off a character that appears in a Suikoden III game. And try to be detailed. :P
Also remember, that character might not have needed to be in the party at the time, they can just kinda, rush out of nowhere if you wish, but make it logical like if that happens.
Also, I guess i'll add one I did to start off. My writing is pretty bad here, so meh.
She turned quickly, catching sight of the large white knight, two lackeys at his side. Knelt into position with their eyes looking along their crossbows, locked onto the leader of the army that aimed to unify the nations, Riou. She acted lightning fast, her hand darted to her side where a set of throwing knives were latched. Drawing one with her two fingers clamped around it, her voice sounded, Eilie jumped spun around and took a step forward. Throwing her arm over and then letting the knife fly from her hand as she yelled. “RIOU!”
The knife met cleanly with the soldiers forehead, perfect shot. His hands loosened around his weapon as it dropped to the floor. His body followed soon after. Although the second guard remained, his weapon still lifting upwards, due to the fact that her actions were extremely quick. Within a second she had already clamped her fingers around the second knife, shifting the back leg forward as the flung the knife, arm moving horizontally as it sliced the air towards her target.
She watched in dismay, her eyes opened wide as her knife skimmed past the soldiers head. Impacting against the stone fall and falling down to the floor below the high bridge. Her eyes quickly locked onto the soldier who hadn’t seemed to falter at the near death experience. His eyes now got a proper lock onto his target. She acted lightning fast as she had done in her attack, adrenaline pumping through her veins as she planted her feet in front of Riou. One last ditch effort, she drew one of the small knives and lifted it as the arrow fired.
Her hand never rose as far as her waist.
Time slowed, the arrow sunk in, she jerked backwards at the sudden force pushing against her stomach. The firm stance she had adopted in front of her leader began to sway, her legs wobbled slightly as she panted heavily. Her fingers loosened around the knife, and it dropped to the floor, she followed onto her knees. Breathing heavily as she stared at her assailant. Under the helmet, she couldn’t tell his reaction, although she wasn’t concentrating anymore. Her focus on everything vanished as she tumbled onto her side. Her vision becoming hazed, and then engulfed in darkness.
A familiar voice floated towards her. Eyelids slowly opened as her pupils glanced around manically to look for a figure among the misty vision, she saw one. It towered over her as she was shook lightly, the red figure attempting to bring her back into focus. She became aware of her surroundings once more, she was breathing slowly. Soon, her vision restored itself as she looked up at Riou.
Her head fell hazily to the side as she gazed towards the leader of Matilda, and the soldiers lying on the ground. The silence seemed to last for hours to her before she spoke, she broke a weak smirk as her hand slid along her stomach. She felt the arrow which stuck deep inside her, not flinching in pain, that sense had long but vanished.
“Looks like… Rina was right… my… my aim has been off lately… huh…?”
She coughed a little before turning back to Riou. What felt like minutes passed between her individual breaths, her blood soaked hand rested on her stomach now, not forcing herself to move it as she looked weakly to him. “I…I guess Rina already told you huh… I guess it’s better you find out at the end-“
Riou interrupted quickly, jerking forward as he spoke loudly, his face whitening at the prospect of what fate awaited her. “No! Don’t talk like that!” She watched his eyes move to examine the wound, his eyes darted back and forth along it, an indicator to how serious the wound probably was.
Her hand lifted to gently press fingers against his cheek, Riou’s eyes darted towards her as she continued to hold the smirk. “D-don’t… worry, at least you’re alright…” Her eyes locked onto his, she could feel herself slipping away, but she wouldn’t leave this world without uttering the words that, until now she hadn’t had the courage to say. Her eyes began brimming with tears, soon she had not the will to move her body. She began shivering slightly, the realization of the chill that carried itself along where they were. Her face was slowly painted white as her eyelids slid shut.
Her hand fell, slowly down onto the stone floor above her head, her neck which had leaned forward now fell back in unison. Her purple hair hung down from her slightly elevated position as she was silenced.
Riou walked on towards the flags of Rockaxe, it was in site, and ready to be taken down. He began to pick up pace as he heard voices and footsteps.
"Stop right there! Rockaxe hasn't fallen yet!"
Riou froze and went to grab his Tonfa when he heard slashes and bodies drop to the floor. He grabbed his tonfas and turned around to see Viktor and Flik standing over five white knight's bodies.
Viktor: "Sorry kid, we got held up in the battle."
Flik brushed his hair and walked over to Riou and placed a hand on his shoulder. He checked his body, and he seemed fine. Viktor glanced to his left to see an old friend who was now an enemy. He tightened the grip on his sword, and Flik done so too. Riou looked over to see what Viktor and Flik were looking at to see Jowy holding his sword and staring at them. Riou pushed down Flik and Viktor's swords and walked infront of them.
Riou: "Wait Jowy, this doesn't have to happen! Back down!"
Jowy smirked slightly and raised his sword. Six arrows flew from behind him and Viktor and Flik quickly jumped forward and blocked Riou from getting hit and took the arrows to their chest. They both fell to their knees andbegan to cough up blood. Viktor grinned and tried to stand up but fell down on his back. Flik tried to do the sam but also fell.
Riou: "Vik! Flik!"
Riou ran both to there sides and began to search through his pouch. Viktor placed his hands on Riou's hand and nodded too him.
Viktor: "Don't worry Ri, it's too late. I've lost to much blood."
Flik laughed quietly and Viktor sighed. They both then began to laugh, but it was very jumpy.
Flik: "Tell Shu, that we did the best we could."
He then coughed and Viktor then began to speak.
Viktor: "Riou, don't die here. If you have to run, then run, but don't die. I wouldn't want our deaths to be a waste."
Flik nodded and then began to cough up some blood.
Riou: "I'm sorry! Don't die please!!!"
Viktor coughed and put his hand on Riou's head and rubbed it hard.
Flik: "I'm glad I met you Riou, you remind me so much of him, you never held a grudge. Like the bear said, don't die.
The both looked up and then smiled.
Viktor and Flik: "See ya, kid........"
Both Viktor and Flik eyes closed and their breathing stopped. Riou looked down and a tear dropped from h
Riou looked down and a tear fell from his check and hit the floor. He the hit the floor with his fist and then looked up at Jowy who was surrounded by crossbow men at both sides.
Riou: "You bastard! You son of a bitch! They wouldn't of hurt you! That's the last thing they would of thought of doing!"
Jowy raised his sword again and Riou pulled both his tonfas oput and spun them around with intense speed stopping all of em. He rose from his feet and raised his hand. It began to glow and he looked up and closed his eyes.
Riou: "FORGIVEN SIGN!"
As the powerful spell was heading towards the group, A knight in black armour appeared right next to Jowy.
Man in black: "It's time sir, lets go."
Both Jowy and the man dissappeared and the spell crushed all the crossbow men, leaving know trace of them.
He looked back at the bodies and more tears steamed of his cheek. His last site was seeing Shu with medics running.
Walking at the corridors of the great Rockaxe castle, Riou, Chaco and Georg was sighted. What are their motive you ask? Burn the higland flag down and change it with North Wind's flag, which will signify Matilda has fallen to the state. Almost to the end they were halted by a figure at the shadows.
Jowy: "Sorry Riou. I can't let your group pass. By the way. It seems very strange that Nanami is not with you."
Riou: I was forced to lock Nanami in her room. Though I've ask the best men of North Wind, Viktor and Flik, to somehow hold and stand gaurd at the door. I know that wouldn't be enough. Still... Jowy, We shall pass by force if that would be the case.
Riou with a gloumy tone remarked the statement.
Chaco: "Get out of our way you longhaired geek! We need to finish this!"
With a great boisterous remark by the winger as he stomps on the floor.
Georg: "Get out of here or taste the wrath of my sword."
Georg remarked with a horrifying voice and draws out his sword. He points it to Jowy's face and growled loudly.
From behind a figures of something or someone emerged from the shadows. Slowly they took form in the light. It seems it is Gorudo and his group of five soldiers.
Gorudo: "The two leaders of this war! Hah! Both are gathered here, and now they will have the same fate, Death! Now fire arrows."
Gorudo boasted and made a signal to his soldiers. His soldiers responded quickly. From their backs slowly they grab to their crosbows and loaded them with arrows.
Georg: "Chaco! Protect Riou!"
Georg shouted and stood high and holds on his sword tightly.
Chaco: "Alright! I will"
Chaco grunted and grabs his spear from behind and joins Georg. He held tightly to his spear and tried to concentrate.
With Gorudo's order the soldiers released their arrows. Georg and Chaco heroicly tried to block them. It just kept raining at them. Unfortunately Chaco and Georg got hit.
Georg: "My cotract it is now... Terminated."
Georg's body slowly fell and dropped to the ground. Dropped dead he fell and rested his cold body on the Rockaxe castle halls. Chaco on the other hand got hit on the shoulder and managed to live.
Riou: "Jowy, for once! Let's set our differences beside. Look! One of my greatest men has died! Please! As you friend Jowy."
Riou begged with great mercy and got to his tonfa. He was shouting the words while he is looking mercilessly to Gorudo.
Jowy: "Okay... Winger, burn our flag and change it to yours..."
Jowy said without a doubt. Chaco was really shocked but then he got to his senses and he then tried to make it to the flags even though wounded from the arrow.
Both casted and a crest of a white shield and black sword appeared above them as they raised their hands. Targeting Gorudo and his soldiers. With just a flash after that spell Gorudo and his group of soldiers disappeared. maybe because of the great force of the magic that Riou and Jowy casted.
Chaco on the other hand got to the flags. He quickly changed it and rasied their flag. After that Chaco fell to the ground and died.
Chaco: "Too... Much blood lost... I lived well..."
He said and slowly closed his eyes. On the other hand Riou and Jowy were finished. Jowy then bid goodbye and moved out. Riou then knelt and tears came down his eyes and ran to his cheaks.
He remarked with great disappointment maybe because of great sorrow of the loss of his man. Shu and apple got to them after noticing that the flag was changed. He ordered to go to the flags and assist the one that changed it. Riou fainted and Shu asked a soldier to carry him. After that incedent they saw that the winger died to. Pity. All sorts of things may happen in wars.
