Title: Suikoden Vrs Topic

Duke - October 2, 2006 05:02 AM (GMT)
Just thought of a interesting little game to do. I write down all names of Suikoden char's and put them in a hat. After drawing to names at random, I pit them against eachother. Its up to you guys to decide who whould win in a fight. Some may come down to a unanimous disition, where as others may have to argue there points of veiw. After a little while I will decide who won/who's argument made the most sense. Well, lets get under way.

MATCH ONE

Kyril vs. Clive

Georg Prime - October 2, 2006 05:19 AM (GMT)
I'd give this match to Clive, but by the smallest of margins. Kyril would probably be quick on his feet, and able to inflict some damage with that great Swallow Rune of his, but Clive has been trained in combat since he was a mere tike, and he doesn't miss with that rifle of his often.

So my pick in this fight would be Clive, but not by much.

Tsai - October 2, 2006 05:19 AM (GMT)
Clearly Clive.

The gun give him a long range advantage, Kyril wouldn't be able to get close enough to get to him. Even if he somehow manage to, the special training that Clive has would enable him to bring Kyril down without too much of a fight.

Flik - October 2, 2006 05:30 AM (GMT)
Judging from their abilites to deal damage reletive to the individual mechanics of each game, I would say Kyri. His swallow rune is far more powerful than most runes in Tactics. It also does have a bit of range which will help match up to Clives range.

Clive doesn't have anything going for him battle wise. He doesn't have a unique rune that will maximize damage. All he can really do is attack with his gun, which doesn't do much damage in comparison to Kyril.

Sure Clive has history with the HVG but that doesn't automatically make him stronger. He has assin liek tactics and this wouldn't help in a 1v1 duel.

Clive may get a few shots off first but Kyrils long range Swallow Rune ability will soon see the end of Clive who has nothing but range to his advantage.

I'll vote for Kyril

Chaco - October 2, 2006 05:56 AM (GMT)
I say Clive.

Even though Kyril maybe quick, but a bullet is faster than his quick feet. Being hit by just one bullet will make you already weaken. Were not in a fairy tale or some sort being able to endure a hit by a bullet. Well if your armor is thicker than a rock maybe Kyril will have a chance to win, BUT Clive is a sharp shooter as Tir said Clive was trained for this and besides not the whole body is covered by armor we still have the ankles, elbows, shouldesr, necks and etc so it wouldn't be impossible to hit a person with such armor of great defence.

In a logical analysis I give vote to Clive.

Flik - October 2, 2006 06:04 AM (GMT)

Actually, we are. And actually, they do.

Clive vs a Highland Soldier. His bullets are still dependant on his attack power and increase as he does, as with any other character in the game. Clives bullet cannot kill a highland soldier in a single hit (in general. It could if he's tanked).

Even Seed at the end. He doesn't have armour and ten clive attacks would hardly be enough to kill him.

Chaco - October 2, 2006 06:09 AM (GMT)
I only based my decision depending in an actual fight that is true to life. It's like cops and robbers. You win if you have good aim.

Tsai - October 2, 2006 06:09 AM (GMT)
It depends really. In random battles/boss fights, they don't kill in one hit because that would just make the game incredible easy, and rather boring. However, when in animated scenes (such as the one where Clive gets shot and almost dies, or when elza gets killed in a duel), a gun causes as much damage in the Suikoden world as it does in real life. So it really needs to be cleared as to wither this is just a random battle, or if it's one of the cool fight scenes to which you get to watch in games.

Chaco - October 2, 2006 06:14 AM (GMT)
It makes me remember the Clive-Elza Sajah scene. A straight hit killed Elza. I don't know this are just my opinion.

Nash - October 2, 2006 10:40 AM (GMT)
what are we going by? In game performance or plot power?

Kyril has the better stats, but going by plot power...Clive might have a shot.

Then again........Kyril had range as well, and a lot more damage without twinking......

eh...Kyril is who I'd say.

Geddoe - October 2, 2006 11:06 AM (GMT)
I would say Clive.

Why? Cause Kyril needs to use a rune to become long ranged, while Clive can just lean back, aim and shoot. And if he has a rune, he will be more effective aswell.

Of course, that is if it an animated scene. If it would be a normal battle, there would be a big difference. But I think Clive would come out the victor anyway, just cause he reeks of awesomeness >.>;;

Nash - October 2, 2006 12:47 PM (GMT)
Well he might need the Swallow Rune for ranged attacks, but it's already equipped to him, so it's available as a default.

Duke - October 2, 2006 11:19 PM (GMT)
Think of the fights kinda like cutscenes. Such as if someone gets shot say, the shoulder, they bleed insted of just a little sign saying 57 DAMage!!!! Rune's and physical power/skill are the deciding factors of these duels.

Duke - October 3, 2006 02:40 PM (GMT)
The winner of Match One after a day and a half of fighting is.... Clive

MATCH TWO

Seed vs Ax

Kyril

Nash - October 3, 2006 04:17 PM (GMT)
Seed, no questions asked.

Georg Prime - October 3, 2006 08:46 PM (GMT)
If Ax went all out against Seed, he may be able to win. While Seed is a talented warrior, with a fencing fighting style to boot. Ax is a dragon horse, and is rather large at that. If Ax ran at Seed full speed and attempted to snap his head off with those huge jaws of his, Seed would have to be pretty quick to dodge and retain his composure.

On Seed's side of things, his fencing style would benefit him when fighting a creature like Ax. If he got in enough stabs, he could probably slow Ax down long enough to shoot of some spells from his Rage Rune. In that case, Seed would win the fight.

So I'll have to go with.....Seed, just because I have faith in his ability to not get his head bitten off.

Tsai - October 3, 2006 10:47 PM (GMT)
Seed, much better at fighting then Ax is. No real contest here.

Zamza - October 3, 2006 10:51 PM (GMT)
Clearly Seed... I mean he's got amazing fighting skills and a rage rune. No baby dragon is going to best that.

Wyatt Lightfellow (Free) - October 3, 2006 10:53 PM (GMT)
Dragon Horses, especially when leveled and equipped with a Killer Rune, can be quite deadly on the field of battle. Especially, when their agility is raised as high as possible. Seed on the other hand, is agile and quick as well. He has the ability to cast highly damaging spells, which even a Dragon Horse won't be able to repel easily.

I would say between the two, Seed would get my vote. Just because he comes badass already, and doesn't need the levels, agility, or rune to be deadly.

Duke - October 3, 2006 11:08 PM (GMT)
Well the match seems VERY one sided, so the winner of the second match is... Seed!

MATCH THREE

Dinn vs Haleth

Ax

Georg Prime - October 3, 2006 11:27 PM (GMT)
Both of them are rather skilled, but I'm going to give this one to Dinn simply because his Katana wielding style is badass. I mean come on....he throws it into the air and catches it in every random battle!! :el:

Kraze - October 4, 2006 12:38 AM (GMT)
Um... Dinn? Haleth might make a killing betting against himself on this one, but wouldn't stand a chance in the fight, even if he didn't decide to throw it.

You know, I started writing up an explanation about why Hallec would win before I realized I got the name wrong...

Georg Prime - October 4, 2006 02:16 AM (GMT)
Yeah, it wasn't really much of a choice. So I decided not to give any real reasons, and just talk about how cool Dinn was.....

Nash - October 4, 2006 03:38 AM (GMT)
Agreed!

No contest, Nodachi weidling Dinn wins!

Duke - October 4, 2006 03:50 AM (GMT)
*Cough* Alright... The Winner of the Thrid Match is... Dinn!

Now for a special event, the first Annual 2V2 Duel!!!
Basically, I randomly pair up two people and place them on a team. I then pit them up against the other team. The difference between this and a regular match is that some char's could work very well togther, and also, the two on the loseing team are ELIMINATED!

MATCH FOUR

Babbage and Hanzo vs Kenji and Yoshino

Babbage and Hanzo! Why? Remember that gigantic horse Babbage created to defend the Revolving Bridge he built? If he had a fight commin' up I'm sure he would make like a :bleep: Gundam or somethin' to fight with.

Mazus - October 4, 2006 06:26 AM (GMT)
Babbage/Hanzo. I think Hanzo could take on either of his opponents one on one and win, though probably not both by himself. Babbage, though, given time to prepare, would pwn anyone. Except maybe Adlai...

Nash - October 5, 2006 02:06 AM (GMT)
yeah, team Hanzo for the win!

Duke - October 5, 2006 02:36 AM (GMT)
A day has gone by and so i declare the winner's... Babbage and Hanzo!

Zamza - October 5, 2006 03:30 AM (GMT)
Gon is a tough guy... But I think Bolgan would come out winning. He can breathe fire and he's a strong man. I think after Gon is dancing around trying to stop his fur from burning Bolgan would man handle him, steal his sword and sit on the poor Kobold.

Gon just seemed to average for me...

Luca Blight - October 5, 2006 03:38 AM (GMT)
Gon is supposedly the second-strongest Kobold from the village in Suikoden I. He would have had actual fight training and experience.

Bolgan on the other hand is just a big dumb circus freak.

Gon wins in a one-sided contest.

Georg Prime - October 5, 2006 04:02 AM (GMT)
Bolgan would get killed pretty quickly by Gon. For one, Gon is a Kobold, and it'd be tough fighting a six foot dog who has been training for awhile. Bolgan can breath fire, but he can't breath it quickly enough to beat Gon.

Don't forget than Gon can bite, and he has K9 claws as well. So yeah, I'm going to say that Gon would win this one. Woof!

Nash - October 5, 2006 04:21 AM (GMT)
Neither one impresses me that much, but I am going to tie the votes up!

Bolgan for the win!

Tsai - October 5, 2006 04:41 AM (GMT)
Even though I'm not sure who he is, from what Tir and Josh had said Gon would win. So I'm voting for Gon!

Sheena - October 5, 2006 01:27 PM (GMT)
Bolgan, He'd just hulk up and punch Gon's chest in then burn him up and eat him for lunch.

Duke - October 6, 2006 04:22 AM (GMT)
Since this guy had more detail on how he could win, the victor of this match is.... Gon!

MATCH SIX

Alhazred vs Norma

Kraze - October 6, 2006 07:25 PM (GMT)
Alzhared, no contest. Unless Norma sics Ernst on him, she doesn't stand a chance. He'll pwn her with his demon book and magic blasters.

Luca Blight - October 6, 2006 07:25 PM (GMT)
Norma would win this one in a landslide. She can easily reach 4 strikes in SV, something Al has no chance of accomplishing. Three Rune slots for both, but I think Speed gives Norma a big advantage here.

Norma.

Tsai - October 8, 2006 03:33 AM (GMT)
Hmm... hard match to call... I hate both of them... but in a fight, I'd say Alzhared would win for reasons Zegai has already said.

Nash - October 8, 2006 08:34 AM (GMT)
Flipped a coin, Alzhared seems to have luck on his side.
