Title: What Game Are You Currently Playing? V2
Seed - August 15, 2006 10:43 PM (GMT)
Since the last one got so long it's time to change over to this one if you want to talk about what games you're working on. To start off with, for me it's still Radiata Stories. I'm almost done with the human path and have most of the human characters recruited. Right now I just defeated the Fire Dragon and am about to meet up with Genius again.
Nash - August 15, 2006 11:59 PM (GMT)
Just bought Magna Carta...so yeah..... Let's see how good it really is...
Duke - August 16, 2006 01:16 AM (GMT)
Recently Beaten - None
Currently Playing - Battle For Middle Earth II (PC), Final Fantasy Tactics (PS).
Stuck On - None
Tai Ho - August 23, 2006 06:24 AM (GMT)
Just finally finished Suikoden III, and managed to get all 108 Stars of Destiny and finally see Luc's little story/ending.
Now, I just started playing Suikoden Tactics. It's pretty cool so far, I've always enjoyed the strategic RPG games like Final Fantasy Tactics, Shining Force. After I beat this, I still have Shining Force NEO, Radiata Stories, Magna Carta, and Star Ocean: Till The End of Time waiting to be played, phew...
Nash - August 23, 2006 06:32 AM (GMT)
Magna Carta is on hold...
Super Robot Taisen is just TOO awesome to not finish first.
Sad this is the first SRT game we got in the states, it seems like a reall popular game over in jap-o land.
Most the crew members form this game are perverts and usually give lower ranking soliders direct orders to wear more revealing clothes.
lol So funny!
Luca Blight - August 23, 2006 07:31 PM (GMT)
Gah... multiple. Shadow Hearts and Xenosaga were put on hold by Resident Evil 4. I've grown off that game, and have been jumping around between games for a little bit here.
Currently on Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords (PC).
Wyatt Lightfellow (Free) - August 24, 2006 12:07 AM (GMT)
Skies of Arcadia, for the (GC). It's been a blast of pirate fun so far. Keep em' coming, BLEARGH!!!1!!!
Tai Ho - September 3, 2006 02:56 AM (GMT)
After hearing people talk about it in the cbox, after beating Suikoden Tactics, I decided to pull out Radiata Stories (which I bought a while ago but never played). It's pretty good so far, I've played about 4 or 5 hours so far...
Zaj - September 3, 2006 03:51 AM (GMT)
Tales of Legendia and Soul Caliber III is what I've picked back up after ignoring it for quite a long time, but just now started getting back to. I expect to get some more games when school starts up.
Tai Ho - September 3, 2006 05:02 AM (GMT)
Well, scratch Radiata Stories from currently playing. I put in a good 3 hours without saving, and bang, it bit me right in the bum so I gave up on it for now. I went to old school PS1, busting out Final Fantasy Origins (I played and beat 1 a couple years ago, but never played 2 so I'm giving that a go).
Chaco - September 3, 2006 06:40 AM (GMT)
Ignore those games play the most original RPG! HarvestMoon! He he he! I like the new Xbox HarvestMoon Game better 3D Graphics. More realistic animals. Try the game for God sakes its cool! Espescially MORE FRIENDS OF MINERAL TOWN or FRIENDS OF MINERAL TOWN in GBA. Try it guys! Farm workm is cool!
Seed - September 4, 2006 03:32 AM (GMT)
That sucks about your Radiata Stories game, Boris, but I did have the same experience once myself. I got ambushed by an ant enemy after the crocogator mission and got killed by a confused Jarvis after I hadn't saved in ages. I had just finished some tricky recruiting before then, too, to make it even more annoying. >_O I hope you pick it up again and enjoy it, though. It is an enjoyable game.
As for me, I finished both paths of Radiata Stories a few nights ago, completing the friends list. I'm not sure whether or not I'm going to do the post-game with the non-human characters, though, since I'm going to have a pretty crappy party until I get Lenneth. Even then, the Ethereal Queen was a royal pain with Elwen, Lenneth, and Kain as my party members on human, so I'm expecting her to be a real nightmare with a party of Ganz, Lenneth, and Romaria on non-human. I might end up doing it anyway, though, since I just spent the last of my money paying off Silmeria and I don't really have anything else to play until it comes out.
Tai Ho - September 4, 2006 03:40 AM (GMT)
Thanks Seed. I definately plan on picking the game back up, I'm just too frustrated to play it right now. Since I lost a few good hours of playtime, that's usually enough for me to put a game down for a week or so. Final Fantasy II is an old school NES RPG, so I'm going through it with relative quickness, and I'll probably pick RS back up when I beat this.
Duke - September 4, 2006 03:43 AM (GMT)
^^
My Non-Human Party was Lenneth, JJ, Golgarios (Red Orc), and of course, Jack. Just run around and heal them, worked for me at least.
Seed - September 4, 2006 04:04 AM (GMT)
I know what you mean, Boris. I'm the same way when I have to repeat a lot of my work. FF2 is a good choice to pass the time with, though. I have it as a part of Dawn of Souls on GBA, and even though I haven't beaten it yet I've enjoyed it so far. I mostly set it aside because I got bored trying to bring Leon up to par and level up his arsenal of spells.
As for Duke, that was more or less my strategy for the Ethereal Queen on the human side. I had a few Tsuchinoko Dumplings on hand, too, and made sure to spam Elwen's Radiant Sword as much as I could. As for the non-human side, I did use Galvados for the final battle, but I found him a bit disappointing. Still, if you can remove Ganz like you seem to be implying I'll consider the orcs. I mainly use Romaria for healing purposes, though even on the human side I had Jack play the role of healer more than Kain. We'll see how things work out eventually.
Sheena - September 4, 2006 06:15 PM (GMT)
Oh boy... I've been playing alot of my 360 lately.
Enchanted Arms, Oblivion and Saints Row really. Mostly Saints Row... It's pretty much a GTA rip off but it does alot of things better. Plus it has an Online mode which is pretty awesome. I usually play 'Protect tha pimp!' and the name says it all... You have to protect the pimp from the other team of hitmen who want to kill the pimp! The pimp has no weapons at all except the lethal and deadly one hit kill pimp slap, you kinda have to be crafty to use it and spring out on a hitman when they arent expecting it. I also met some one over X-box live and we're starting to throw a 'gang' together. Gang = Clan in any other game.
Yeah, that's pretty much why you haven't been seeing a whole lot of me lately.
Duke - September 4, 2006 07:00 PM (GMT)
I got angry at Kain for his lazyness of healing, but if you contastly tell him to heal, he does it alot more often. Basically, i just run around the area and tell Kain to heal all the time. Elwen and Lenneth (First time beating her on Human I used ethier Gerald or Nocturne) just wailed on her. The problem with the orcs is that they take a little longer to attack, so you have to distract the Queen sometimes for there attacks to work. Always use your own Volty's though, as the others dont seem to work as well, My Axe Volty did more then Lenneth's but i guess that depends on how you built Jack up.
Tai Ho - September 9, 2006 12:02 AM (GMT)
Well, I beat Final Fantasy II, so now I'm deciding what to play next. I think I'm gonna pick Radiata Stories back up and take another crack at that, or I may try my luck with Shining Force NEO, haven't decided yet. Until I do, I'm playing some Dynasty Mode in NCAA Football.
Flik - September 11, 2006 11:10 PM (GMT)
I'm finally getting back into Kingdom Hearts II. I had a spare hour the other day and thought I'd give it another go. It does get progressivly better after that stupid Tron part.
Tsai - September 14, 2006 03:17 AM (GMT)
Playing some Madden NFL 07 lately, it's pretty good. The newish dynasty mode where you're able to be a NFL player and try to become a legend is about the only reason why you would even pick up this game if you already another Madden game since most of them are the same. They seemed to have rushed the dynasty mode though, it'd take too long to explain and I'm lazy but it's rushed.
Klaus - September 14, 2006 05:38 AM (GMT)
Well, lets see, what have i been playing lately?
PS2: Gundam SEED: Federation vs ZAFT (Jap)
This game totally rocks. It is a great two player/ party game, and when you are both down to your last hundred HP everyone starts screaming really loud for no apparent reason. The number of unlockable gundams really makes one player worthwhile too, and since one player can be played cooperatively, it adds new elemnets of strategy. Its a pretty game, handles really well, and is surprisingly well balanced. Buster Gundam FTW!
Arcades: Gundam SEED: Federation vs ZAFT 2 [!!!!!!] (Jap)
Just like the PS2 one but with minor updates and a considerably increased cast of gundams. Its amazing, but it plays a lot cleaner, and the few balance issues that existed in the first have been well and truly worked out (it was mainly the Aegis, which was god in the first one). I havent been able to play a lot of it, since it is really popular, and you cant really play one player, since the AI is never that helpful. Regardless, I cant see how anyone could not love this game. It totally rocks.
Street Fighter 3
I don't play it as much recently, mainly because I get owned a lot. But it is still fun.
Luc - September 19, 2006 04:53 PM (GMT)
I'm not quite playing them yet... but they are soon to be released.
- Kingdom Hearts 2
- Suikoden V
SHOOP DA WOOP!
Luca Blight - September 19, 2006 05:59 PM (GMT)
I just got FF: Dirge of Cerberus. It's pretty good so far, considering the transition to being an action/platformer/FPS from an RPG series. The story is just as gripping as any other from the offices of SE, so that's a plus. The gameplay isn't as bad as reviews make it out to be, the controls are actually top-notch. The problem is that they're trying to pass it off as an FPS, and in that category alone it doesn't stack up to others in the genre (Call of Duty, Rainbow 6, et al).
Luc - September 19, 2006 06:08 PM (GMT)
Dirge of Cerberus...
I was dissapointed in it. I really thought the game would have been much better if it was a Devil May Cry styled game. Action packed with a lot of shooting or whatnot.
Duke - September 20, 2006 12:21 AM (GMT)
Playing - Age Of Empires II: the Conquerors (With Internet Bud), and Halo 2 (With friends at their houses.)
Tai Ho - September 20, 2006 09:36 PM (GMT)
Hey Gil, I've been playin Madden '07's Superstar mode myself. It's pretty fun, especially how you specifically control your player and no one else (unless you choose to). It makes the game more of a challenge and it's a change from the norm. Right now I've got a QB that was drafted by the Texans to replace David Carr and I tell ya, it's hard as hell trying to pass behind that Offensive Line, now I actually feel bad that the Eagles sacked him 7 times the other week :(
Tsai - September 21, 2006 03:14 AM (GMT)
Haven't tried a QB yet, so far I've just been working on a RB who got drafted by the Jags. Gets around 150 yards average, I've learned a knew found respect for the FB, man that guys had some key blocks for me, only reason why I won Rookie of the year. Can't say I like that QB anymore though, little jackass keeps changing the running route so I have to try and go through the stacked side of defenders, it's too bad I can't break the guys shins <_< . The games pretty good, I'll have to go "borrow" from my friend again so I can try out a QB. Might be fun to try out a CB, in the other games it was hard as hell to be a CB since half the time the player is out of viewing range but with this new camera view it should be easy.
Mazus - September 21, 2006 05:09 AM (GMT)
Darn you Freelancer... why must you steal time that I could be playing Suikoden V with. Darn my weakness for space-trading/mining/fighting/exploration games...
On that note... Darn you, too, Warhammer 40k Dawn of War and Winter Assault. Darn my weakness for gun-toating orcs, demons, and space marines (and to hell with the Eldar). Must... finish... SV... *gasp*
Flik - September 22, 2006 03:25 PM (GMT)
Just Finished Kingdom Hearts 2 (Thankgod). Nah, it was alright. The disney worlds were really boring though. It had nothing on KH1 in my opinion.
I've just started SH3, so I'll probably be asking Seed a load of questions soon.
Seed - September 22, 2006 06:26 PM (GMT)
Glad to hear you're finally getting around to SH3, Flik. I'm sure you'll enjoy the new characters and battle elements, even if it is notably shorter than Covenant. As for me, I'm not doing much gaming right now, but I am anxiously awaiting Silmeria's release date.
Chaco - September 23, 2006 04:07 AM (GMT)
My field trips coming soon. Someone challenged me in a pokemon battle. So I got on my game boy and played Poke'mon Ruby. So far I had trained already 2 of my Poke'mon almost LV100 I think LV90 already, but times I wastin I'll now be playin.
Luc - September 24, 2006 11:44 AM (GMT)
I remember my pokemon days. I actually had a full party of level 100's that I trained myself, no cheats and all that jazz. Cheats blow. ¬_¬ Had an Eevee, Flareon, Jolteon, Vaporeon, Umbreon and Espeon. Yey!
Camus - September 24, 2006 01:29 PM (GMT)
Mein Gott, not the Eevee team! I had an Arcanine, Starmie, Piloswine, Farfetch'd, Mewtwo, and Electrabuzz. All Lvl 100s, of course. I used to use a Mr Mime, Dugtrio and Hitmonlee too.
As for what I'm currently playing, well I pity myself for being the only sane member of the family. My brother and sister just wasted their money on "Sims 2", which has pop music as annoying as the bottom layer of hell. Well, might as well play the game if it's paid for. Also, "Return To Castle Wolfenstein" has taken up loads of my time.
Seed - September 25, 2006 05:18 PM (GMT)
I've actually decided to dust off Wild ARMs 2 and play it for a while, though once again I'll likely be dropping it once I get Silmeria. Wednesday just can't come fast enough... X_x
Georg Prime - September 25, 2006 06:52 PM (GMT)
I'm with Seed on this one, I'm currently playing Suikoden V through once more, but once Silmeria hits the market I think I'll pretty much zone everything else out for awhile.
Solon Jhee - September 26, 2006 08:37 AM (GMT)
Hm, was replaying Wild Arms 3, but I got Wild Arms 4 just this morning, and since I was just told that the $50 held back for Silmeria mysteriously vanished... <_< I got to wait a couple days to a week for it. Going to buy the guide though tommarow, just can't look in it till after I'm done playing it. I can tell ya now though, I'm gonna fail, lol.
So I'm playing Wild Arms 4... but once Silmeria gets in my hands... nothing else matters..well maybe a few other things... just a few though.
Gotta get some pocket change (plus what's left on my Best Buy Gift Card) soon for Tales of the Abyss, when that is released, on the 11th I think. But even then Silmeria will be more important.
I'm getting backlogged in games here.
On a lighter note, Tales of the Abyss has the same composer as every tri-Ace game in existence(Star Ocean1-3, Valkyrie Profile L&S, Radiata Stories, etc.). When I watched some video's of fights in the game, which look superb by the way, the music gave me a Star Ocean-y 3 feel, but unique enough in it's own right. So props to Namco and Motoi Sakuraba(tri-Ace composer dude).
Nash - September 27, 2006 05:10 PM (GMT)
Damn, I know how you feel Solon. lol
I should have gotten VP2 today.....
but, I am so behind on games (it's Disgaea 2's fault.)
and what with VP2 out now, and TotA and also Devil Summoner (SMT) just around the corner...
oh man, I want them all. lol
Where ever will I find the time to play them.
and...hahaha
You do what I do Solon, you buy the guide, but don't open it till the game is beat. Then you see all the crap you missed and cry yerself to sleep. lol
Did that with Suiko 5, missed a boat load of characters the first time. lol

| But I got Wild Arms 4 just this morning |
Bah, I've been looking for that game everywhere. Anyway...
I've recently gotten back to playing my Fire Emblem games for the GBA. I don't really have much else to do. Im still waiting to get VP: Lenneth, and VP:Silmeria when I get enough money to buy it from the internet.
Flik - October 7, 2006 06:02 AM (GMT)
I'm back into Monster Hunter Freedom. That game has a never ending drug of addiction. I love it!
I'm also still playing SH3, but at a slow pace. FFXII will be out soon and I got my mum to import it for my birthday XD.
Zamza - October 10, 2006 03:03 PM (GMT)
I've been playing Oblivion lately. Pretty top notch game, I'd say.
