Hi every one, I am a download-aholic. I use to play a vanilla Sims 1 and played vanilla Sims 2 for 2 yrs after it came out. Then I was introduced to MTS2, the ultimate pusherman. I think I ODed the first night I got there.

I have over 36,000 files in a 9.6 GB download folder. Alot of it is favorites from ages ago and it is not available anymore. I can't part with it cause I use alot of it in my MegaByte heavy lots. My main addiction is clutter. It's like CRACK! Little KB's here, little KB's there. Before you know it, I have consumed (downloaded) enough to stomp the best computer systems out there. Oh well when I stomp mine, I just pack my folder in a safe place and start over again, but it never stops. I end up addicted again.

36_1_4.gif I am begging you, DON'T HELP ME!! I WILL NOT and DON'T WANT TO STOP! I might miss something.

Okay with that out of my system, can someone point in the right direction for the stuffeth here? I am jonesing... KFlex.gif

Okay Lewis we promise not to help you. Wee.gif

Just to add, even though I cleared out my downloads, they have gotten pretty big again and I also love clutter. Yep MTS2 is a pretty neat site.

Our stuffeth is in the design central forum. Hope you find it okay.

Ahh well good luck to you Lewis. Hope there is enough stuff for you to download to help with your addiction.

I'm sadly still quite addicted to downloading houses. I could never make enough sims for the houses but it doesn't stop me. 36_11_6.gif

It is a long time since I have been to a meeting, but I have a confession. I am still a downloadaholic. 36_1_4.gif Even though I don't play my game, and even though I deleted all the downloads, I still have just as many as I have collected more over time. This time round I have been a little more choosy, but still nonetheless, I am downloading. I don't know what I will do when Sims 3 ends this revolution (one way or the other). Oh well I am sure this community will keep feeding my habit for a long time to come as they have with sims 1 15_4_104v.gif

Me too Caroline. I keep seeing things I need to download "just in cae"

I really don't understand why everyone thinks the Sims 2 Community will disappear either. I have heard from many people who have no intention at all of buying Sims 3, and like Caroline said we still have creators making new Sims 1 content for a game that hasn't been updated since what, 2004-5?

Well, my downloading has slowed down to a crawl. I am supper picky on what I download now. Still have over 35,000 downloads so don't really think I need much more. KGiggle.gif

I am with you Eileen, don't get it why everyone thinks Sims 3 means the end of Sims 2. There is still a Sims 1 community out there..may be small but they are still making Sims 1 stuff. Plus if creators can't design for Sims 3 they will keep to Sims 2 because they enjoy making stuff for the game. I also think a lot of people will wait to buy to see how Sims 3 is because there are a lot of concerns with SecuROM.

Actually the Sims 1 Community is very vivid and living well with the main big forums beeing Simblesse Oblige, My House by Apponee, Natural Elements Forum.
Neighbourhood 99 also has a lot of more activity since Coconut Hut closed down and still there is one of the best updates finds for Sims 1.
Archichiari also has great listing per month with pics for Sims 1 updates... I find alot of stuff from their listing.
The Sims 1 Community might be smaller than the Sims 2 is but... last December there was a great amount of Sims 1 Advent calendars, I don't think there have eve been so many !

So , sure Sims 2 will still be around ... it will slow a bit down the first months but then when people have tried and decided what they thought about Sims 3 some will be back.
One thing that might happen too is that Sims 2 gets cheaper and new players add to the community...
there is still people starting to play Sims 1 as it is so cheap to get and the computers don't need to be so powerful for it !!! And what is even more fun ,
since the time of Sims 2 came out there is so many new creators for Sims 1 that has come around, Simnut 1, Anoush from Shabby Sims YG, Ferndale Sims ( Oh - yeah - if you haven't seen that site ... me drool alot over fantabulistic garden items and more),
recently mdamlady started to do recolors and her choice of bases and way to redo them is excellent... Simblesse Oblige is my choice for creative atmospere!
Almost forgot... Seabree's is back on Yuku too.

I am working with some new stuff... mostly for my beloved Sims 1 but I will try to convert some Sims 1 walls too Sims 2 walls also.

There are people playing Sims 1 , building in Sims 2 or creating for both and playing mostly Sims 1... ( ATS Sandy...laugh.gif ) There is many combos.
And yes... Sims 1 works on Vista but you gotta fiddle a little to get it to work...
Me , I choosed to install my old XP even though I got a new puter last year... Vista has to many cranks for me... and I enjoy having Ubuntu linux on a partition on my puter too. Wee.gif

Sure , no more expacks but hey we have been without that in Sims 1 since 2004 and we have managed quite well without... having fun with excellent hacks by Raeven and Simlogical etc. It is all about the downloads anyway !

Not to toot our own horn, but don't forget Swarm for Sims 1 updates...I think they are some of the best out there, lord knows we try to find lots of goodies, and I know I enjoy doing them.

I think the Swarm is one of the few who still does Sims 1 updates. N99 doesn't do updates for Sims 1 but they do have a sections where site owners post their own updates at which is good.

Eileen who is way better at finding Sims 1 updates......I go to a site, find nothing but she always manages to find it. tongue.gif We both still love doing Sims 1 updates because not only are they great but we want Sims 1 players to feel like they are important also in the Sims community.

I am looking forward to downloading some walls from you Susanne for Sims 2. Yes.gif

You are ?! Good ... were in the queue is that project listed now... 5 or soo...
Fantasy skinning holds me hostage just so you know...
Bruja made a too addictive challenge at Simblesse Oblige KFlex.gif

Actually there is a couple of more Forums that does Sims 1 updates, Vera Sims is one I know because I can see the referrals on my stats so I can get to that tread and read ... handy.
I found a link referral to a place called CTO Sims - also a fourm but I never heard of it before.

Olena Dub has started to make Sims 1 weekly updates at Seabree's Yuku place.

But N99 is were some the site owners go so that is a great place to find out stuff too.
Ess only does at Simblesse ... when she remembers to make it...she loves doing stuff but hates to update...rolleyes.gif

I am sure Sims 2 has some diehard fans also and they will form a strong community given the chance. One good thing that has come of the slowdown for Sims 1 is that we are a pretty nice bunch... not much flame wars or bad stuff is going on at N99 Sims 1 corner / Simblesse Oblige and other forums.
Maybe Sims 2 can shake the drama too ???

I sure hope so...that is why I haven't gone to other Sims 2 places tahn Swarm and here - I don't like too much drama ... it destroys the community in the long run.

Yea, know Vera Sims......she is not able to do updates right now because she is waiting for her new laptop that suppose to come in March 3. Her last computer died.

CTO is a file sharing forum....like the old and now gone Sims File Vault forum. You now have CTO and Sims Cave that do file sharing request like Sims File Vault. I checked them and didn't see any Sims 1 Finds.....maybe they use to do it.

Need to get Seabree's link and check them out. Yes.gif

No.....I think we like it too much KGiggle.gif Most of the drama has been about pay vs free. When it was just Sims 1, people didn't get into free vs pay discussions. They just went to Sims File Vault. I think some of the free vs pay drama had been more on the quiet side lately but than Reflex Forum drama happened and it went all crazy again. I am sure Pay sites would like it to be quiet again. I think it hurts them the more people discuss them. But I am sure our Pirates will not go quietly away. arr%21.gif KGiggle.gif

Well, I wasn't sure what it was and I am glad I asked because I don't wanna be a member there then. period.

But it can't be an old referral since it was my new site Maiden Sanctuary that got the referrals...

here is the link to the tread...

[URL=http://ctoccasions.com
/index.php?option=com_fireboard&Itemid=28&func=view&catid=16&id=3160&limit=15&limitstart=1485]link[/URL]

I am just so curious... rolleyes.gif I always get that when I see a place I don't recognize inmy stats.

Seabree's is here:
Seabree
It is not that active but we want to share some stuff that is only shareable there .

Sandy's Sims 1 update was great at ATS. She first made that set for Sims 2 than made it for Sims 1. She is a very talented creator. Yes.gif
