Chill time, Seth & Summer

Seth stopped outside the arcade, kicking his skateboard up. He hadn't been in there for a while, walking inside as he held his board under his arm. He pulled his wallet out from his back pocket and handed it to the guy behind the counter, giving Seth coins in return. Seth turned around with the pile of quarters in his hand, feeling like a kid in a candy store. He felt as if he was like 10 again. But then again, he probably was 10 on the inside.

He made his way over to the skateboarding game and dropped his board to the side, putting the amount of money into the machine to accept his credit. He slid the rest of the change into his pocket and positioned himself on the 'skateboard' and gripped onto the bars as the game started.

Summer had dropped by the Cohen house and Kirsten had told her that Seth was at the arcade. Summer walked inside, her Louis Vuitton purse sitting on her shoulder. She looked around at all the people so into their game and she had to put her hand over her mouth to stop herself from howling. Once she finally spotted Seth, she made her way over to him.

"Cohen!" She yelled, finally getting his attention. Once he looked at her, she smiled and gave him a quick hug, not wanting to make this akward or anything. "So you were that bored today that you decided to come here?" She asked jokingly, crossing her arms over her chest.

As Seth neared the end of his run, he heard a voice...calling out his name. "Cohen!" He turned around quickly on the 'board', which caused the skater to bail and he saw Summer standing there. "Hey," he smiled as she hugged him, raising his brows slightly as he hugged her back with one arm.

"So you were that bored today that you decided to come here?"

He laughed slightly and nodded his head as he looked back at the game and then back at Summer. "Well, yeah," he shrugged. "I mean, as weird as it sounds, I think I over played the ninja game. And, I haven't been here in a long time. Makes me feel like I'm 10 again," he smiled.

"Cohen...you are 10..." She said, then playfully rolled her eyes. "So the annual charity ball is this weekend, you excited? I bet you just cannot wait to get all dressed up in a suit and hang out with all the Newpsie's for a whole night..." She said, then laughed a bit and ran a hand through her long chocolate brown hair, letting her hand fall to her side.

"I'm sure Bianca will look amazing...as always..." She said, sending him a small smile.

"Cohen...you are 10..."

"Well, I can say that I'm not exactly 10 Summer," he smiled slightly. "Since that I've had a growth spurt and that I've..." he trailed off. If he continued, he would be going back into the past. Past = past feelings he decided. "And that I was finally on your radar," he smiled slightly.

"So the annual charity ball is this weekend, you excited? I bet you just cannot wait to get all dressed up in a suit and hang out with all the Newpsie's for a whole night..." "I'm sure Bianca will look amazing...as always..."

He laughed slightly, nodding his head. "Oh yeah, I just wait to see what all the other Newpsies are up to. All their little schemes and secrets," he replied sarcastically. He smiled slightly and nodded his head. "Yeah, hopefully I can scrub up good so I don't look like something just crawled out of the garbage," he laughed slightly. "And I know you'll look..." he trailed off. He didn't need to finish his sentence. Hopefully she'd get the gist of what he was saying.

"But besides all that, is there any way that I can get out of it?" he asked with a serious look on his face. "I really don't wanna go,"

"I really don't wanna go,"

Summer laughed a bit. "Nope...you have to go because Bianca will make you. And so am I! You have to go, you always make those parties bareable..." She said, then smirked a bit, wondering if now was a good time to bring up who her date was/ Actually, why would Seth even care? He has a girlfriend...he's over you, Summer.

"And besides...you know some kind of drama always happens at these things and you don't wanna miss out on that..." She said while smiling at him. It was true, at every event...something happened.

"Nope...you have to go because Bianca will make you. And so am I! You have to go, you always make those parties bareable..."

Seth smiled slightly, nodding his head. "Yeah, I can imagine Bianca not letting me not go to the annual...ball...whatever its called," he shrugged as he turned back to the screen, already meant to be halfway through his second run. He stepped down from the board and looked at Summer. "And if you ever get bored, come find me. I'll try to make some witty joke about a Newpsie or something. That's always fun," he smiled.

"And besides...you know some kind of drama always happens at these things and you don't wanna miss out on that..."

"Oh yeah, that's right," he nodded. "We live in Newport Beach, Orange County. It seems like everytime there's a function, there's either a bitch fight, a punch up or affairs are revealed," he shrugged. "Oh yeah, wouldn't wanna miss that," he laughed slightly.

"Oh yeah, wouldn't wanna miss that,"

"Exactly. It's going to be awesome...Ryan and Coop together. You and Bianca together...it will be tons of fun, I know it..." She said, then shrugged her shoulders a bit. "And if it sucks...we can bail and go to the Bait Shop in our fancy ball dresses..." She said, then let out a small giggle.

"I am actually looking forward to it..." She said simply. How pathetic was it that she couldn't wait to show the world (or at least Newport) her new...whatever the hell they were. Her new kissing buddy? Sure, that worked.

"I am actually looking forward to it..."

"That's good," he smiled, nodding his head. "Wait a minute," he thought as he tried to rack his brains for what Summer had just said. "...Ryan and Coop together. You and Bianca together...it will be tons of fun, I know it..." He furrowed his eyebrows slightly and nodded his head again. "Yes...yes," he muttered to himself out loud. "So wait, if you don't mind me asking... who are you going with?" he asked curiously.

"Just...a guy. He's 23 years old and from LA and him and I have been...hanging out I guess..." She said casually, trying to not make a big deal out of it, but she had a feeling Seth was going to start asking her a million other questions. She looked at him with a small smile on her lips.

"I really like him..." She said simply, putting it out there. Her and Preston had nothing official going on, the two had just been kissing buddies, but she did like him and he did like her...so she figured something would happen eventually.

"Just...a guy. He's 23 years old and from LA and him and I have been...hanging out I guess..." "I really like him..."

"Oh right," Seth nodded as he placed his hands into his pockets. He couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy. But it was the same in any normal relationship right? But the thing that bothered him the most was the fact that he was 23. Old? Hell yeah. Well, not really that old, but... just a lot older than he expected.

"How did you guys meet?" he asked curiously. If he was from LA, what in the world was he doing in Newport and how did he get her. Summer and Seth weren't dating any more, but he wanted to know that she was going to be alright, and not hanging around with some stalker dude.

"How did you guys meet?"

"I was in the diner, getting ready to eat alone, when he walked in and dropped his lighter. I picked it up and handed it to him and he sat down. He was a bit of an ass at first, but it's part of his charm..." She said, remembering the day when they met. Summer had tried her hardest to not like him, but she just couldn't help herself.

"He kind of reminds me of Sebastien from 'Cruel Intentions' except without the whole 'wanting to have sex with my step-sister and using this chick to try and sleep with her' thing..." She said, assuming saying that made Seth worry even more. That wasn't her intention, but that was who he was like.

He cringed at the thought of what they did that day. He didn't want to know, but in a way he did. He had never really watched the whole movie before, only bits and pieces of it. That was only because he was never really interested in it. Maybe he should've watched it the day it was on TV. Then he probably would've understood the referance more.

"That's uh..." he trailed off, unsure of what to say. "...I don't know," he laughed slightly, almost at a loss for words.

"...I don't know,"

Summer laughed a bit and rolled her eyes. "Wow, did I leave Seth Cohen speechless? Better mark this day on the calender..." She said, then let out a small giggle. "We've kissed, Cohen...if that is what you're wondering..." She said, then placed her hands on her hips.

"He's different...he's a bit of a bad ass...and I like that..." She said, wondering if Seth even wanted to hear all this stuff. Oh well, she was going to tell him anyways.

He smiled slightly and nodded his head. "Well, I guess you've found... like your true calling," he said with an optimistic outlook. If she was interested in bad asses, then he figured that he wouldn't have to worry about Summer still loving him? Liking him? "You know, like Trey..." he trailed off, wondering if she knew about him. Well, it had been a while, she probably already found out about him. And if she didn't, it would've had to happen sooner or later.
