I have some rules I want you all to follow. I don't ask much, mianly respect for other users here.

Before you create a character, please apply, preferably as a guest. If I see some sort of oaishdg298 (made up screen name), then I will delete the account within a few days to make sure that the screen names remain character names.

Write in the third person past tense!
Not: I walked to the tree.
Not: You walked to the tree.
But....: He/She walked to the tree

Give your character a full name. Middle names are not required, however. I just don't want a "John," because that is such a common name and confusion can result from that. If you can't think of a last name, try thinking of a random noun... like Pine. I just made that up now. It's not that hard. Though, if its a canon character in which no last name has been given, you may either just make up a last name for the character, or just leave his/her first name.

When you fill out the applications, please follow the directions in there. That's all I ask.

Respect other members. Fights between characters in fine, and unevitable in this RPG, but please, keep it down otherwise.

If you are making a thread that you want only certain people to respond to, write the person's character name in the Topic Description. If you see someone's name there, and it isn't yours, don't write in there unless you are givenpermission by the people originally involved in the thread. You can always read it, though.

Give a good effort to write at least 4 sentences per post. It really isn't too hard. If you are stuck with just a quote, try describing hte person's thoughts, or maybe explain that they started playing with the zipper of their jacket to avoid eye contact... be creative! This is a site devoted to writing, so please write!

Swearing is okay, just don't go overboard.

Please, nothing too sexual. Try to keep it PG-13. I don't want details for sex, this isn't a porno website... just fast forward through the act and you'll be fine.

Make an effort to keep down typos. It can be frustrating to read a page full of errors.

Unless the character has bad grammar... please keep it down. Even if the character doesn't know how to speak well, try to write more clearly outside of dialogue. I've done enough trying to understand things like that when I read Huck Finn... I don't need that here too!

No Spamming, ie dont go to a thread dedicated to a scene to talk about random stuff or advertising. We have forums dedicated to that. You can use the (( text )) method to communicate a little with the person you are threading with, but please do that in the same post.

Try not to make too many characters. I am fine with you making a lot of characters... but keep in mind that its hard to keep them active. If you don't think you can control another character, don't make one. Also, if you have a main character--not all the cannons, but like Summer, Seth, Marissa, Ryan, etc--I would especially like you to keep down the number of characters, as I don't want a Ryan to leave so the person can play a smaller character.

Please don't sign up for a main character unless you really intend to give this site a try and to be active. If it isn't working out and you want to leave, send me a message so I can delete the account and get someone else to play the part.

Have fun, and be creative! But if you are going to do anything really extreme, run it by me, thanks!
