her: "Well, when I ran away to Newport for the final time, the Cohens' let me into their home, and I lived in the poolhouse - where Ryan used to stay. When he came back, that was when I was moving out anyway, and Ryan helped me move into Kevin's place. We were in a bunch of classes together at Harbor, and we're really close. But not like Ryan/Seth or anything like that. We have a common history and dreams, all sorts of stuff like that, I guess."
me: "Casey took my place when I wasn't at the Cohens'. When I came back, we started to talk, and because we both have similar backgrounds, we became good friends. In the same classes a lot when she was at Harbor, she was a big help in finding a way for me to see Marissa when her mother was being restrictive as to our relationship. I never really approved of her relationship with Volchok, but she's onto bigger and better things for herself - than any kid with a background like ours."

her: "Ryan Atwood is one of my closest friends. He's one of the few guys I trust with my life. At first, he hated my guts because I tried to break up him and Marissa by seducing him, but he eventually got over it and now we're such good friends. I don't know what I would do without Ryan."
me: "Riley? Well, she's ... special. When I first met her, I was in detention. She needed to get out of there, we skipped, and then I broke into her car for her. Turns out, that was the start of a crazy chain of events. She started being my friend and a fling, but it turns out that was all at the hands of Julie-Cooper-Nichol. After that came out and Marissa broke up with me, I refused to talk to her, until the earthquake, when we were stuck together. We started talking, and when Marissa and I broke up for the drugs, I turned to Bianca, which meant I turned to Riley. I tried to help her kill her father-in-law, which backfired, and I'm one of the guys she can turn to when she does something bad, and doesn't want her husband to find out. Oh, and did I mention that she's Marissa's half-sister? Crazy place Newport is, huh?"

her: "Oh God, Ryan.. I don't even know where our story begins. He thought I was a superficial brat and I thought he was a poor jackass. We got stuck in an apartment together and became friends. Totally hot friends, by the way. Eventually, we both faced some hard times and leaned on eachother for comfort, which turned into a short-lived relationship. We got out of that one, friendship still intact, and we're perfect!"
me: "Could you believe that I used to hate Bianca? Well, I did, back when she was dating Seth. Eventually, I got over it, and we started to become friends. Well, that was actually when she followed me to Chino and came to visit me in LA the entire time I was there. And if it wasn't for her, I wouldn't have the twins. Eventually, we were pretty much best friends, and you know how it goes. Oh, and then after the Marissa drug thing, and Nick had left her, we did date. Fortunately, that relationship was short, and we emerged still best friends. We're like ... gah, I can't think of a relationship like ours."

But the thing was, that all changed when Ryan came onto the scene. He was my first real friend and well, he whipped up a storm didn't he? Ha... but yeah, we're like... brothers yo. We've gotten through Oliver, both of our parents, children, pregnancies, run-ins with the law, and separation on top of many other things with many a nasty bumps in the road, but I still can't think of anyone I'd rather be with, and I can't possibly love anyone more. He helped me through my addictions and never leaves my side when I need him. I love him exactly the way he is. I can't think of a better father for Sydney and Kyle--even though we got pregnant with them while we were smashed."
me: "If I even started to talk about my relationship with Marissa, I'd be here for quite some time. We've been that couple who's always a couple, even if they aren't a couple for as long as I've been to Newport. From that night I met her at the end of the Cohen's driveway, I've been in love with her. From forbidden by her parents to Oliver to pregnancies to drugs and alcohol, we've managed to get this far. Despite her faults that remind me a lot of my past, I can't seem to stay away from her. She's my drug, my life, my love, my first, my last, my everything. And despite her shortcomings, I couldn't think of anyone I'd want to have my kids with, other than Marissa. She's the reason I wake up in the morning and sleep at night, knowing she's right there. Marissa Cooper is the girl I want to marry, that's for sure."
