Title: THE SITE RULES.

HALO'S SLIPPING DOWN. - December 5, 2011 05:44 AM (GMT)
hello and welcome to caution to the wind 2.0.! we're glad to have you and we welcome any and all questions that you might have about the site or the rules that we have here on the site. what are caution's rules? that's a good question! below this introduction, you'll find a list of rules that we expect every single member to adhere to when they join our board. if you find that someone is breaking the rules, please direct an admin's attention to the thread/person that is breaking them and we will take care of it as soon as possible. don't be afraid to speak up either! we don't bite very hard!

ACCOUNTS AND AGES: when registering on caution, you may choose whatever username that you like, in caps, lowercase, whatever! we don't care about that but what we do care about? multiple accounts and the age of our members. we will say right now that caution members must be thirteen years of age or older to be on this board. the reason for that is because of Invisionfree's rules and we do not want to get in trouble for having underage members on the board, which could potentially lead to us being shut down. please do not lie about your age, either. i know some people do that sometimes to be on boards that they otherwise might not be allowed on but it's very much against our rules and if we find out that you are younger than you say you are, we will ban your account until you are thirteen and age appropriate. the rule about multiple accounts is that you are not allowed to have them. it's one account per person. if you have multiple accounts, just PM an admin and let us know which you want to get rid of. if you have multiple accounts after being warned about it, then we may take action against you via suspension. so reading the rules to know about this stuff is definitely a good thing so that we don't have any problems.

GRAPHICS: here at caution, we encourage members to set up graphics if they wish or use the requesting systems that we have set up for them! there are some rules that go along with this, however, as we do not want things getting too out of hand. for graphics in your profile, your icon should not be any bigger than a width of 200px and a height of 300px. you may use gifs in your avatar, if you would like. for signatures, we allow them to be a width of 500px and a height of 475px but that includes everything, meaning that if you are a fan of buttons to go along with your signature, you need to make sure that all together, everything does not exceed the limit that we have set for signatures. if we find a member that has a signature that is too long, we will PM you about it and expect you to make the changes. we do not allow personal pictures to be used in signatures or avatars and we will ask you to take them down if we find any.

REQUESTS: for requests, we allow all kinds of them but the general rule on the board is that you cannot bump your topic more than once every three days. we realize that sometimes topics get pushed back a page or two sometimes with all of the threads being started, but it can get chaotic with everyone bumping more than once every three days. once again, if we find you breaking this rule, we may freeze your request or PM you about it to remind you. a lot of our resource makers have galleries where they accept requests; however, if an artist has listed their gallery as no longer or not currently taking requests, you are not permitted to send them a PM asking them to fill a request. if the artist does NOT have a gallery though, you are welcome to inquire about requests via PM. we absolutely do not allow pictures of children that are under the age of 13 to be used on the site or requested, whether it is a graphics request or a character request. non famous people will not be accepted either.

SECURITY ISSUES: maturity is a very big thing here on caution and by joining, we expect you to know that we are not tolerant of any sort of flaming or cyber bullying, which has become a problem on some sites recently. we are a strict PG-13 site and will make sure that everyone adheres to that as well. if you find that you are having trouble with another member on the board or feel that you are being bullied, we encourage you to seek help with one of the security mods, as it is their job to look after security issues and things that might be going wrong/rules that are being broken. another big thing is stealing. we do not and will not allow thieves of coding, graphics or anything else to be on caution without some form of punishment, which can range from suspension to being infinitely banned, depending on the level of the crime and the cooperation that you show. if you have had something stolen from you, once again i encourage you to PM an admin or a mod and we will take care of it as best as we can.

ADVERTISING: we have a forum in which you can advertise your new site and there are rules that you must stick to as well, which are posted in the main forum. however, we have had trouble in the past with members advertising via PM. this is not allowed on caution unless the person has asked you for a link to the site. you may have a link to your site in your signature but other than that and the ad forum, we do not want links to be advertised anywhere. if for any reason caution has disallowed your ad from our directory, neither you nor your members are allowed to advertise the site anywhere else on caution (e.g. site requests, character requests, signatures, etc).

so that is the rundown of what we do and do now allow here on caution. like i said before, if you have any comments or questions, please feel free to direct them towards a staff member's inbox. and above all, remember that we want you to have fun here on caution and we want to keep things as peaceful and amazing as we possibly can but we can't do it without your help!
