Playing Hearts of Iron 2, as Germany. By 1941, only two years after I invaded Poland, I've won WWII. The only countries in shown on the map not allied to me or a puppet to me is Ireland, Portugal, Syria, Lebanon, and Switzerland. everything else basically belongs to me. All my main opponents have been beaten; The only two nations that can hope to damage me at all are Japan and the US. So I've basically won. Greensmile2.png

And this game has also brought me the most ironic moment I've ever had in a strategy game. After conquering the Middle East, I decided to check the list of new countries I could create, so I wouldn't have to worry about partisans blowing up all my stuff. After seeing this one on the list, I couldn't help but liberate it, just because of the absurdity of it.

I honestly have no idea of what I'm looking at.

1st. picture is off the main map screen thing for the game. Right now it's showing Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East. The huge gray blob is Germany (Me). Nearly every other country shown on the map is either an ally or a puppet of me.

2.d picture is the diplomacy screen, and right now it's showing info on Israel. Notice that Israel is National Socialist, and is a puppet of Germany. crazyeyes.gif

Ha.

Go through Canada and rape the US.

This is inevitable. This may not happen today, it may not happen tomorrow, but it will. Is it time for humanity to go the way of the dinosaur? While the tools to stop this exists, we are content to procrastinate on finding these. It won't happen to me in my lifetime, says the average citizen. What would they do when it does?

I've actually just started that. Greensmile2.png

While at first I faced little opposition in America (Read: None whatsoever), the American army decided to show up right when my forces were stretched very thin, and before I could do any regrouping. The invasion probably could be alot easier, but I've been placing the majority of my armored and motorized forces on the border with the Soviet Union, for when I invade them (Again. This time to completely destroy then, not just take almost everything west of the Urals)

The US wasn't really that hard to beat..... The entire border along Canada was undefended, and when I finally did run into some resistance (In the form of half the American Army magically appearing in the middle of German occupied territory, for no logical reason) my normal blitzkrieg-encirclement-never-stop-driving-forward strategy failed, so I got the new, and much more gratifying, strategy of throwing every single division you have in North America at the American Army, while every plane in North America drops bombs. Strangely, I experienced less casualties this way.....
But the armies were defeated, and soon I was simply driving across the US, with no soldiers left to fight back. Finally, they surrendered. And after I made Charles Lindenburg president of the US, they became my ally.
Not much has changed on the world map after the surrender, except I now control Panama Canal, Belize City, Jamaica, and Curacao. Oh, and I've created the independent nation of Texas. mischief2.gif

Ha.

Why can't/didn't you just take over all of Central America except Mexico and northern South America?

Cause I'm not at war with any of those countries, and I have no nearby troops (Though I'm redeploying many of the divisions that fought in the US to Belize City and Jamaica so I can invade Central America and the Caribbean later on)

Oh wow.

Next target is to kill the Soviets through Alaska and from Moscow?

And you should really splice the world maps together into one massive thing so to greater emphasize Germany's glory. (And so we can tell how much you conquered.)

Actually, it seems I won't have to kill the Soviets. They're doing a fine job killing themselves. Shortly after launching another invasion, they surrendered (Again). I accepted, cause I really wasn't planning on destroying them yet, just weakening their army so that when I do attack them for real, I won't be up against some massively huge monster of an army. But shortly after they surrendered, a Civil War started in Russia Greensmile2.png
Which means I can focus on more important things, like helping the Japanese win in China, or conquering South America, whilst Russia kills itself.
