Who would win, Kira or Zero?

Kira, because he's not limited to petty things like eye contact. He can just kill Kallen (cause her identity is not exactly a secret) and have her mail him the identity of Zero. Then pwnt him with his DN, all without being exposed. (Kira vs Lelouch is even easier. He announces his name several times, and also when he takes over the world with the Damascus flying nuke fortress on live TV.)

Sure, Zero has an army, sure they have giant death robots, but he still needs to talk to his enemies directly to get them to do his bidding.

Actually, I think the real questions should be, who would win, Mikami or Orange-kun?
I think the universe would simply end from all the awesome, leaving both of them as the sole living creatures left, at which point they would combine their powers to recreate the universe in their image. And it would be a glorious universe, 100X better than our current one.

Easy, kira would win. Zero's name was broadcast live throughout the entire world! Plus he went all crazy and made himself known (in person) during season 2. While kira stayed back behind his name.

Jerimiah would win. He's half robot, and last time I checked...you can't kill a robot in a death note!

After rewatching Code Geass, I hafta say that, I think between season 1 Zero and Kira, it may be a bit even (As by that point, neither Lelouch nor Kallen's identities are known). Season 2 onwards, it all hinges on Light knowing that Kallen knows Zero's true identity, which isn't really common knowledge.

And what happens if Light wrote down C.C.'s name?

True, but only during season 1. Then it all spirals downhill afterwards as Lelouch prances around announcing his name everywhere once he stops his charade. I mean, making Suzaku Knight of Zero? How much more blatant can you get? And even if people somehow missed that link, Light can simply kill one of the leaders of the UFN with death note, but after the leader sends him the true identity of Zero. (he did that with the president of the US for information regarding Mello I think.)

I suppose CC would die, for Charles was still killed by C. And C is a deity, and Death Notes are tools of deities to kill people. So therefore, CC would die even though she's immortal.

Not all the leaders of the UFN know Zero's identity, though. Just the ones associated with the Black Knights.

But how would CC die? Heart attack is default, yet that probably wouldn't work on her. And C isn't a deity, just the collective unconscious of mankind, which Charles called a deity. I suppose CC could be killed the same was as he was, but that would be a very complicated Death Note entry.

Well, if Light went after El Presidente to get info on Mello and/or Near, it won't be too big of a leap to say he'd go after The Chairwoman of the UFN (also leader of Black Knights).

How would CC die? Yes, Heart Attack will be default, but it doesn't matter really. Death is death, if the mode of death is physically impossible, (see the death in front of Eiffel tower) it would revert to heart attack. And here's the thing. What if a criminal guy is in the hospital, and the moment he gets a heart attack, doctors give him a replacement heart? No, I think he'd still die. Death Note ultimately causes death, how it does it it won't matter significantly.

I don't know... Deity is sort of ambiguous. Would Shinigami be called deities if they can be killed? What constitutes a deity? Is Light a deity because of supernatural powers? What of CC because of psudo-immortality?

However, there's another thing. You don't know CC's real name. Best that can happen is to con it out of Lelouch. (CC's always in the background, and you know something's up with her) Assuming Light doesn't have Misa/Mikami to find out names, the only way is to make Lelouch die after sending him CC's name.

Looking back, Light didn't kill the president for info on Mello/Near. The prez killed himself because Mello threatened to use the Death Note on him to launch a nuclear war if he didn't comply.

Actually, with CC, she still might survive: She dies multiple times in the series, it's just that she gets better afterwards. So the heart attack would kill her, but she'd pop back up later.

And think of this scenario: What if Lelouch was able to get to Light first, and used Geass on him? Then he'd have both Geass and the Death Note!

Eh? No, Mello was threatening to do so, that caused the President to give him Near's team's names. Light did kill the president with death note to cover his tracks after conning Mello and Near's info out of him, according to the Manga I think. (That's what I remembered)

No, she didn't "die", she just got crippled massively, and then regenerated and got better.

That's true, but he prances around declaring his name too much for that to be effective... He only does the slavery thing to his guard, and took the the polizei for the purpose of shooting Mao. The Polizei can't be geassed afterwards, unless if he sends Jeremiah "Orange" Gottwald after them to ungeass him, and then he goes and re-geasses him. Light does nothing suspicious to need special attention/geassing. He isn't in charge of those platform things that Lelouch enjoys collapsing, he's not a soldier, he's just some police officer.

No, according to the manga, the president sent in a spec ops team to try and get the Death Note from Mello, however, they were all killed because of the Shinigami working for Mello. When the president got word of that, he killed himself to prevent Mello from using him to start a nuclear war, as he'd threatened to do so. After that situation was taken care of, Light called the new president, and threatened him for the names; he never killed the prez through the Death Note.

And for Lelouch geassing Light, I'm not saying that he randomly geasses him while going for other people; I'm pretty sure Lelouch would notice criminals dropping dead. Now, while Lelouch's intelligence is more geared towards military and politics than investigation, there's still a chance that he would find out Kira's identity (Think if L had just had Geass..... "Light, are you Kira?" "Yup." "Hooray!")
