Character Name: Jonathan Sawyer

Character Age: 34

Gender: Male

Species/Affiliation: Lycan (Were-fox)

Personality:
To call Jonathan vain would be to call a hurricane a breeze. He believes a person's appearance determines their way in life. Any chance he can, he'll dress in one of his many tailored suits. Although not normally unhappy with his furry side, he doesn't like the idea of ruining clothes when the changes come on. He hated the idea that he might have a weakness and did his best to seem smooth and graceful whenever he walked or moved, every movement thoroughly thought out before it was executed.

Although giving the airs, quite often, of neutrality and passivity, Jon was set in his ways and those usually excluded many morals. It wasn't that Jonathan didn't have morals, only that his were skewed. He also had no issues with dealing with known criminals. It was part of his business. Any more it seemed that was all he associated with, or criminals-to-be.

While he's usually decently good at keeping his cool, Jon is terribly obsessive about his career. If people make mistakes, even mistakes he once made, he is less than forgiving. In fact, he's likely to fire people rather than actually consider his own humanness.

Appearance:
Dark hair fell in waves when he let it loose, though it was likely as not that it was slicked back with gel. Controlled. He liked it controlled. Because of the dark hair, it seemed he had a perpetual five o'clock shadow, or perhaps was merely on the verge of it. If anything about himself he hated it was that.

His thin bone structure was most evident in his face, where there were several sharp angles. A low brow with thin straight eyebrows exaggerated rather than hid his gray eyes. Which was to say that shadows still seemed to flock to his face, particularly when he spoke. Lips weren't particularly full, but rather thin and always quirked in the darkness of his face, as if he knew a joke and wasn't quite willing to tell it.

Jon was by no means short, standing a full head and shoulders above many of his acquaintances and coworkers. Broad shoulders, however, and a rather triangular build kept him from being lanky. Lycanthropy kept him from being clumsy, not that he would've let himself be seen being clumsy.

History:
Jonathan never really had it rough growing up. The closest to rough he ever came was when his father's company's stocks fell for a few months. Truly the only affect wrought from that was a few of the other boys in his boarding school gave him a hard time. Most of the boys being from affluent families, nearly everyone kept up on the state of everyone else's families. Particularly on their financial situations.

By the time Jonathan graduated, his father had given him an ultimatum. Either he went on for further schooling and earned his inheritance in its entirity, or he could live it up on Daddy's buck for the rest of his life, although his inheritance would be split between himself, his two cousins and several charities his father favored. Jonathan was one for honoring tradition and continued his schooling.

Law school was anything but a breeze, but Jonathan endured it with bribes as well as studying more hours a day than he did sleep. There was something endlessly fascinating about law and how easily it could be bent and twisted. The only true thing Jon found irritating was the nickname classmates had dubbed him, "Sawyer the Lawyer."

Graduation and another ultimatum. Jon was ready for it. Should he open his own practice, it would have the added reward of his father's company. Jonathan turned down the company but opened his own law practice. Within five years of opening his own practice, Jon had earned himself a nasty little reputation for getting known criminals off the hook. And he was proud of that. He'd also voluntarily mixed his blood with that a lycan.

It was in his fourth year of practice that a documented lycan had come to him with an itsy-bitsy problem...He'd killed a few girls. And it was documented. Jon was taken with the power the lycan held. Instead of payment, Jonathan asked to gain that power. At first, the other man had refused, telling him what a horrid decision it was, but Jon wasn't to be swayed.

Now in his sixth year of practice, Jonathan is well practiced in defending the not so innocent and not quite so human. Although really still a decently new lycan, he's able to control himself quite well...at least the the point that he is only changes form when he wants or when the moon dictates it.
