Witches are humans who can access the power that each of us has within ourselves. Everything is magic in it's own way: the way spring knows exactly when to begin, all the way to vampires rising magically after the sun sets. Some humans can tap into this natural power, and bend it to their own way.


Types of Witches

When posting an application for a magical human, you need to add what type of magical human they are. There's a huge difference between Wiccans and Dark Magicians, so I need to know what angle your character is! Also, you can't dictate what kind of powers you get. Perhaps you'll receive a totally original power when your application is accepted... maybe not.

In short, decide carefully whether your character is a Wiccan, Christian Witch, Dark Witch, Warlock, Magician or Dark Magician. There are differences.

Wiccan and Christian witches are the most natural of witches. They use nature with respect, channeling their power through the medium of ritual and incantations, making them concentrate hard enough to perform magical acts. They are mainly like the 'real life' Wiccans, making their potions like you would naturally expect. Warlocks are basically their male counterparts... so, for example, you could have a Christian Warlock, or a Wiccan Warlock.

Dark witches/warlocks/magicians are more covert when practicing their magic: they perfect their spells and magic mainly in the form of muttered incantation, using blood or the death of a creature to aid them. Their potions often use blood, bones and poisons as well as the normal ingredients. They generally don't care about other peoples' opinions, and perform magic that is seen as barbaric or self-serving.

Magicians are the most powerful witches. Dark magicians are generally those after the secrets of eternal life. Magic is a huge part of their lives! Ordinary magicians are the same, apart from the seeking of eternal life: they want to increase their powers to help others. Both sets of magicians are obsessed by their power, and they best are sought out by powerful Master vampires to become a human servant.

The most powerful from these groups also rarely have something else: a vampire servant, or a lycanthrope servant, much like a Master vampire. They are then known as a Master magician, and are seen by all others with links to magic with respect.


Spell Casting

Okay, we're not going for your stereotypical witches here, on broomsticks etc. Good witches can cast spells of protection over themselves and each other, but their magic depends on how powerful the witch is, as well as how powerful the being they are trying to stop is. For example, if a newly initiated witch tries to cast a spell to protect herself from Zalika, it isn't going to work at all. This is where I trust the judgement of the Rpers on here!!

As well as protection spells, they can cast spells in just about anything bar turning people into frogs, or Sabrina the Teenage Witch things. Good witches have the power to curse people, but generally don't, as they're good. Only the experienced and powerful witches can cast magic with their hands and thoughts alone.

Dark witches are not necessarily 'evil,' but they go out only to do things that aid themselves. This means getting rid of anyone or anything in his or her paths, as well. The blood magic they use is shunned by all major religions bar Satanism and some smaller religions, as they often have to kill something to get what they want. They can cast spells to curse and break the protection spells of the good witches... like a never-ending cycle.

List of Spells and Powers

Powers can come through a bloodline, but it is much more common to simply 'click' into your powers. This could be due to an accident, or some life changing event: for many the act of puberty brings out the ability to use magic.

Here is a list of possible spells/magic:

Weather changing; protection spells; barrier (protection) breaking spells; incantations of strength/courage; truth serums; aura sensing (sensing how powerful a creature is); summoning spirits; glamour (changing how others perceive your appearance)

Magic that can only be used by magicians:

Telepathy; telekinesis; aura sensing (the power level and what kind of creature they are); channelling spirits (crossing over into necromancer powers); the ability to have a vampire servant; the ability to have a lycanthrope servant; psychic healing (only the highest level magicians)

Obviously there are more things to the list that can be added. Also, note that the powers of magicians and necromancers can be similar, although magicians have no power over the dead, or vampires.
