Zytalia was bored. Really bored actually. Her long hair was flowing behind her in the breeze, not tamed with a pony(tail). She walked gracefully among the trees. She felt attached to forests and trees. Caves and lakes did not suit her. She tripped once over a tree root, scraping her knee slightly. The blood trickled down her leg, a red streak against her skin. It stung slightly, but enough for her to mutter in pain.
She stopped and leaned against a tree. It was an old oak tree, long dead. Squirrels chattered above her in the treetops.

Slåtew sat perched in the tree, the moon glinting off his large red eyes giving the appearance they were glowing. Besides that, his whole body was covered in shadow. If a regular human looked up, they would see to unusually colored and large fireflies against a thick brush of leaves. His body was a dark brown color, only helping to camouflage him more. Slåtew was an intelligent creature, though not capable of carrying out a conversation with a speaker. Once in a while, he could send mind-messages, but they were vague like 'come' or 'stay' or 'help.' In anyway, you couldn't talk with him and expect a reply very often. His large leathery wings were folded against his body. This helped even more, if you saw past the shadow, he would be a big owl in your eyes, but most could see through that and see the creature that lurked beneath all the disguises.
He clicked his beak as he watched the form below stumble, then against the tree he was perched in. He shifted nervously, narrowing his 'glowing' eyes. He sighed and moved along the branch closer to the trunk of the tree, where he had a greater chance of going on undetected. He didn't want to be seen, by anything, monster or human. He blinked, he large red optics extending to their normal, unusually large size again. He precariously steadied himself on the branch. His wings extended slightly and flapped almost silently, trying to help him from falling or having to rise in flight. He folded his wings again, eyes locked on the form below.

It was only a scrape, nothing bad. The girl leaned against the tree, depending on it for support. It continued to sting and she slid down to a sitting posistion. What was wrong? She examined the cut. It was actually pretty deep. The root she had tripped over had a small, pointy pebble perched on it. The stone had dug into the wound, making it sting more than usual. Stupid thing. she muttered. But the rock was lodged in her flesh, she did not know how to get it out.
So, the rock stayed in. For now, of course.

Talia glanced up into the treetops. Who said that? she had no real time to speak "intelligently" as she usually did. She would usually say something like "Who was the one who has spoken?" She stood up and looked about her and spotted the owl like form above her. Maybe I do need help. Can you help me somehow? Or can I help you? The cut continued to bleed and the little stream of blood continued to flow, slowly though. She stood on her good leg, the right, and leaned against the tree again.

"I.....help." He said slowly, as if he had trouble even just thinking about saying them. The girl didn't seem like she wanted to hurt him, but he wasn't going to take chances. "You hurt I?" He asked, this time making just a bit more since than a two-year-old human. He blinked, his large eyes flashing. He continually shifted his weight from one side of his body to the other, giving off the impression he was impatient when he was actually nervous. He was one that liked to stay in the shadows, away from everything else. Only very rarely did he make a sound, much less meet and talk to someone. He clicked his beak again, for no apparent reason. He seemed very small, crouching there, wings huddled against his body. His real size was much larger. Of course, this is what he wanted to do. Who would notice a large man-like figure standing in the trees with large red eyes? Everybody. Who would notice what looked like an extension of the trunk or branch? Almost nobody. He didn't want to be noticed, like most monsters that couldn't change their complexion to look mostly like a human. Still, werewolves and vampires couldn't go walking around, but in his mind, he had to be more careful about were he strode. He was far from his home, the cave. He liked the darkness there, and the silence, and the utter feeling of being alone. Almost no one traveled far into that cave. But tonight he had to come out, for he had grown restless. He had spread his wings and flew here, but no he was standing and talking to someone else, someone he was still unsure of.

His speech was queer, but she could understand what he was saying. She spoke simply, making sure this owl-like creature could understand her. I won't hurt you. How can you help me? Her head tilted to one side. Could this creature above her help her? The sting numbed slightly but the wound continued to bleed. It was like an arrowhead was stuck in her but the shaft had been removed.
She had fought battles before. Sometimes there were archers, sometimes there were none. Few times had she ever been hit by an arrow, and that didn't hurt much. Why was this stone any different?

Slåtew clicked his beak, thinking for a moment. " Use rock. Might help." Of course, he wasn't really helping; just giving ideas. More than once he had gotten hurt, from a bullet, a thrown rock, or some other projectile. He had always used his beak before, but that was only for himself. He moved along the branch, the tough wood bobbing up and down due to his weight. Through the darkness he could see the blood running down her leg, though the wound didn't seem too bad. This was curious indeed. He rotated his head like an owl would, looking around. He turned his attention back to the girl. Slåtew's eyes moved along the ground next to her, looking for the cause or implement of her pain. He could find none, but it was very likely she fell, or tripped. His wing flexed very slightly out of boredom. He wasn't exactly bored, just restless. He had flown not for a while before perching here looking over the vast darkness when he noticed the form. He breathed slowly, for he was used to being quiet, even when it came to his breath. Slåtew was, what he thought, one of a kind. Yes, there were a few out that looked like him, but none of his exact species. He thought that this made him an even more valuable prize for the hunters. He blinked, watching her to see if she took his vague advice. OOC: I just noticed you had 'Simple and Clean in your siggy..... I love that song!

ooc// I know. I love KH too. If you go to http://zekai.proboards45.com/ I have it playing there. Simple and Clean, the song I mean. ^^ I think I memorized it by now.... bic// A rock? she thought. How could that help her? She voiced this to him. How could a rock help? She tried shifting her weight to her left leg, the one with the rock, but it wouldn't hold her. She collapsed to the ground. What was wrong? Why was this any different than an arrowhead, like the sharp, stone tipped arrows in her quiver right now? She had a bow and was a good shot, but rarely used them. Sometimes if she needed to hunt for a deer or something, she would use the arrows. But she would never harm this...creature. Besides, she only had a few arrows left. 4 to be exact. Why would she waste an arrow? It was trying to help her too, she saw no reason. She sat down on the ground, giving up on trying to get her left leg to support her weight. She shrugged off the bow and quiver and placed it nearby. This was to show she was not going to hurt him, and it was more comfortable for her.

"Pry out." Slåtew said simply, eyeing the quiver. He paid no attention to these things usually, but he was so close now. He was trying to help this girl, and it seemed like she wouldn't hurt him, but looks could be deceiving. He himself was a good example of that, he looked cruel, menacing, and evil, but he wasn't that at all. He was kind, gentle, and merciful, except to those that tried to hurt of kill him, then the menacing cruel side that rarely came out would rear it's ugly head. Only once had that happened, when a young human, around 20 (that was really young to him) had happened to trounce along his den. The human, being a skeptic, had immediately pulled out his gun, which he was supposed to be using to kill sport animals. He pulled the trigger and it hit Slåtew's leg. Slåtew, out of instinct, rose up and grabbed the human, and then snapped his neck in his powerful jaws. The top story on the news the next morning was that of a missing man, by the name of Jacob Greenfield. Slåtew bore no scars of the injury, though it still hurts now and then.
OOC: Bleh, shorty.

Mmm? Pry out? I guess I could try that.
She looked about her for another rock. There were few about the forest floor. None seemed really useful except for a few. And among those, they were rather far away. Could she hobble over there, leaning on trees on the way? Maybe. Could she ask this creature if he could fetch it for her? Possibly. Wait...
Do you have a curse, dubbance, name, whatever you would like to call it? I'm called Zytalia, but Talia is fine. By the way, would you mind fetching a rock for me? I'm not really sure if I can get one myself...
she said, blushing a little. She was usually an independent sort of person, liking to do things by herself without company of others. Now, she was asking this owl....thing...to get something for her.
She followed his gaze to her quiver, which was pretty empty to her. If he thought she would harm him, fine. He had met many untrusting creatures in her time. One of them, her brother. He was named Ziem. He was no demon like herself, but a human. They were actually only half brother and sister. Ziem never trusted anybody. He would wed with no one and believe no one unless he saw it with his own eyes. He would take no one's word, no matter how many times they held onto their word. Ziem got on her nerves more than once, many more. They would fight and bicker for hours without end. Their father would have to pry them apart most times, sometimes they had just yelled themselves hoarse and forgot what they were fighting about in the first place.
By the time they were older, she just gave up trying to make promises with him. Not only was he untrusting, he never held to his word either. He would trick and scheme. He was as sly as a fox, but Talia, she was part fox in a way. She was just as sly as he was, maybe more, but could manipulate what would be his next move. She got to know him very well in his tatics and habits. She had never broke her word, but she too was slightly untrusting. Not as much as Ziem though. Those that had proved to her deserving of this trust recieved it. Those unworthy she left behind. She had left Ziem a long time ago.

"Zytalia? Zytalia." Slåtew he echoed almost as obnoxiously as a parrot who had just learned a new word. Then he gestured towards himself with one bat-like partially feathered wing. "Slåtew." Then he jumped to the ground, or rather, fell using his wings like a parachute. When he reached the ground, he raised up. It was stunning how much larger he looked now. He stood at least seven feet tall, and with a wingspan of around sixteen feet, it was seemed as if he had just grown from the small outgrowth in the wood to the creature. He kicked a rock towards her; having no arms, just wings, this was about the best he could do. Soon as it was within reach of her, he spread his large wings. With one flap, and a powerful kick up the humanoid legs, he was launched back up into the tree. With a crack he landed on the now unsteady branch. He hobbled back towards the sturdier part of the branch near the trunk. Again, he crouched and folded his wings together, perfectly back into the same pose as before. If you had looked away when he had come down (and were deaf) you would've thought nothing had happened at all.
He blinked, looking down upon the girl. Still, he had almost no idea of how she really looked, for he hadn't paid that much attention when he had come down. Now, crouched there, it seemed like at least two or three feet had been taken off of his height.

Mmm hmm. Slatew is it?
She took the rock in her hand. She did not know much about rocks, primarily that they could hurt yourself, or others. They could be useful during duels or other fights of that sort. She tossed it into the air, catching it as it fell back to earth. It only went as high as her head, no more.
So...I pry it out you say? she was sounding stupid, she knew. But rarely had she ever taken care of herself, medical-wise. She was no Healer and knew no arts of it. Herbs, plants, remedies, none she understood. She did know a some basic knowledge though. About how to treat a rather bad wound. Slap some bank mud with some dock leaves covering it. She tried it a few times, the result was not a disaster nor did it help a lot. It helped with the slight sting, but not much else.
She brought her leg closer to her body, holding the rock with the other hand. She looked at the wound. It wasn't bad. The ever flowing river of blood had slowed down somewhat. She looked slightly puzzled. What am I to do?

(( occ// Heh. ))
(( bic// )) She took the rock her hand and looked at the wound. Yep, the rock was still there. She took the other one and pried it out in one quick motion. It stung like mad for a few seconds and the river of blood was full of life once more. Heck. She bit her lip as the blood flowed. Mrrff. She threw the blood stained rock over her shoulder. That was that. It continued to sting a bit though.
