What's the story with the extra ridge on this version? Is it an EMI pressing?
muffmasterh - June 19, 2012 05:18 PM (GMT)
its emi and crops up on various emi singles from around 1969-71. no idea why, have a dave clark five single with it as well as a my sweet lord, ballad, hey jude, an several apple singles....

As far as Bruce and I could ascertain, the additional ridge emerged at first during part of the process of "full automation." Possibly, it held the record in place better. Whatever its purpose, the additional ring was no longer needed after a while.

Thanks.
I have just got hold of a copy of Something with the extra ridge and was curious about how it came about.
