We Are Fish And We Drown We listen to the songs of the stars and the earth without even knowing. Our hearts dance to a beat we can't quite hear, but are ever in sync with it. Our blood echoes with the melody, but because we cannot hear it, often we forget... Until something reminds us, something peaks our heart and speeds adrenaline through our veins and we remember to feel the sensation of each beat of life, each powerful pump of our soul feeding oxygen to our bodies. Sometimes, if we can get close enough, we are blessed enough to hear the rhyme of another life's song. And nature reminds us of how precious our lives, and our dear ones, are.
Aurelia Foster was like most teens at any Black River school, egotistical and narcissistic. It's not like it wasn't hard to follow all of these people, they were everywhere you turned and after years upon years of the behavior you become one of them. Although her attitude was the same as everybody else, her personality wasn't. At times, Lia, was compassionate and caring. Depending on the situation, Lia could be your best friend or your worst enemy. Luckily it was a nice day out and she didn't feel like causing any drama today.
Void was her pallid face, impossible to read with just a passing glance, yet her memory was stirring, replaying the memory from moments before. . . The usual babble of talk was present. As it always had been for the many generations that the town had been open. It would have seemed like it was ages ago that she moved to Black River Falls and everything was still the same. Nothing ever changed all that much, not that Lia minded anyways. As she entered the notorious night club she headed directly for the bar. Being a regular had it's benefits, she didn't have to wait in line like the rest of the losers out back and the bartender always knows exactly what she whats. To start a cosmopolitan, and once she feels a little buzz maybe move onto alberta premium on the rocks or watermelon & coconut Malibu jello shooters. And once she really knows that its gonna be a good night, tequila shots all around. So there she sat, sipping on the red ruby drink in which she always started with and the same spot she sat in every night. Nothing ever changed.

It wasn't as if she was the only underager to go to La Vie De Nuit, but for some reason she always felt quite awkward going in. As if one day they would stop her and ask her for I.D. it had never happened yet and the bouncer knew who she was but there was always a chance. In truth getting in to the club had little to do with age and more to do with reputation and looks. Thankfully Eva was gifted with both of these things. Her looks were a present from her mother, an Iranian pageant queen who could have been a model if she hadn't decided to marry and become a mother. And of course her fathers name gave her reputation. Despite the fact everyone in Black River was well off the Kensington name held a particular ring to it. It helped that her father was an attorney meaning he knew pretty much everyones secrets.
As she entered the club to jealous stares of those waiting in line she flashed the bouncer her best smile and adjust her loose black silk dress. On a good night she would know plenty of people who were there, but she could always count on knowing someone. Her eyes scanned the club and although she could see no one on first glance she knew there would be someone. Instead of lingering at the doorway she made her way through the crowds to the bar and ordered her usual. Malibu and coke. Eva wasn't exactly one for fancy mixers and the furthest she really went in terms of a cocktail was an appletini. After receiving her drink she watched the bar and noticed one of her friends.
"Aurelia" she called making her way carefully over to her friend and setting her glass down on the bar. "Hey darling," she cooed before giving Aurelia a quick hug and then taking a sip of her drink. Aurelia was one of Eva's favourite party friends, she always knew how to have a good time and no matter what happened Aurelia kept Eva happy.
